Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

So I made it back alive from my late night trip. Things took long than expected due to issues. I walked down my road and noticed there are pokemon everywhere except around my house. Get down to the gym and battle. I'm tore up both the pokemon and 1hp glitch... okay I must've hit things too quickly. I had to force quit and decided to walk to the 2 pokestops basically 200 ft away. Walk back and battle again and 1hp glitch again. Okay... refill at the pokestops 1 more time and try to battle again. This time I take 5 seconds in between each press and had some pokemon die to ensure I was extra slow andddd 1hp glitch again. Team Blue is a bunch of filthy cheaters. They protected their gym with 1hp hacks.

The only thing that redeemed the entire walk was searching around for the bulbasaur that showed up as I was walking back. I'll have to share all the hilarious things I saw during the day tomorrow since it's late and I need to wake up to catch more pokemon and workout at the gym since theirs a few pokestops over there...

This, I actually think my whole neighborhood is useless lol. Good thing I work in the mall, can't wait to go in tomorrow and see what I find.

I walked a quarter mile in my neighborhood and I got nothing unless I used incense. I can only really use this when I'm at work it seems.

They need to update this to do something when there are no pokemon around.

I really hate that 1hp gym glitch - Tried taking over the gym @ my work like 5 or 6 times and had my pokemon die, ran out of revives but at least I was close to another level already. I could take another whack at it but what's the point if it's broken :|

I had only ran into it once the night before - managed to take over the 4 gyms around where I live and claim the bonus.

So, I got a question about notifications and whatnot for this game (I'm on iOS):

1. Do I need to have the app open for it to vibrate when Pokemon are nearby, or will it pop a notification?

2. Does the game still work when the screen's locked?

App has to be open and active, there are no background notifications. You can enable battery saver mode in the game's settings though and flip your phone upside down to turn off the screen, your phone will vibrate when a pokemon is nearby.

Had to drop off my wife's sister and thought we would go around to catch some pokemon. We both run into and catch a tauros and scyther. I was pretty excited until we compare stats and I get a 24cp tauros and 191cp scyther while she gets a 187cp tauros and 251cp scyther. She's even a level lower than me. Just a little salty, lol.

I've been leveling up my Pidgeot and it says my trainer level is too low.

So is it set by a certain cp limit, or just how many times you can level up one Pokemon?

Was out at a bar last night, and after we were done me and a friend walked around for a bit playing the game and I gave him some pointers etc. After a while we ran into an enemy gym and decided to take it on. So I pretty easily defeated the one Pokémon in there, and was in the process of healing and powering up the Pokémon I'd place there. But when I backed out again the gym was already owned by our team and had a pretty low-level Pokémon there. I asked my friend if he put a Pokémon there already but he said no. Then we looked around, and sure enough there were two other dudes there with their phones out. I jokingly yelled at them not to place such shitty Pokémon in our gyms, and we talked for a bit.

I was just really surprised because I didn't expect to run into anyone else playing the game at 2 am in Sweden. Pretty cool. :)

I caught a Pidgey with a Dragon type skill instead of the flying type which seems like it could be good. I remember Dragon types were super strong.

All I've done so far is evolve my Pidgey and I'm super happy about it. I haven't even found a gym yet in my little suburban English town... I have only one Pokestop and It's at a trainstation :I

Wow, that explains why it didn't buzz for me yesterday then. That's kind of... archaic?

Oh well, off to battery drain we go!

I found out there's a cluster of seven Pokestops near my place.

Suddenly a lot less worried about Pokeballs.

Also apparently someone spread birdseed over my house, because I found another few Pidgeys while just sitting around.

Ok managed to log in!

I caught a Bulbasaur as my first pokemon by accident, do I get to pick in the beginning?

Also used an in Incense and caught a Ponyta!

Went to a party tonight and half of us left to go walk around and play this. Literally like 100 people on campus just walking around playing; it's amazing. I haven't seen anything so widespread since FarmVille, and people weren't outside at 1 in the morning trying to play it for as long as possible.

I'm super hyped for the wearable. Does anyone know when it officially releases?

Went biking around at night. Summary:

-Caught a Beedrill
-Saw a jigglepuff(?) outline, couldn't locate it and it disappeared
-Found a gym, beat the red on it and claimed it for Blue.
-Found a little park, set out a lure and then this happened:

-Hatched a 5 km Meowth.
-Hatched a 10 km this thing:

Kind of regretting my team choice, looks like my neighborhood is a battle zone between red and yellow.

Curious to see if interest will die out as things stabilize. Walking around was really fun today because gyms were constantly switching ownership, and often someone would take a gym and only have some low-CP Polemon left to defend it.

Now all the gym defenders in my neighborhood are all 400+ CP. My strongest is about 330. Hopefully it doesn't get to the point where I can't participate in the gym part of the game.

Toronto is a perfect city for this, holy crap. So much, so close. There's a gym literally across the street from my apt.

Gonna be travelling around the city quite a lot this weekend, can't wait to grind away lol.

Realizing that you can see when gym battles are taking place live by the effects just made for one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a game.

I was watching in real time as, for about an hour and a half, three gyms within range of me were going nuts in some kind of turf war, which I may have only seen the edge of. It started possibly with some Instinct player moving west and trying to at least damage as many enemy gyms as possible, then, like, counter attacks were happening, then reinforcements in the form of training the prestige back up to shore up losses or dig into a newly acquired gym, then three gyms were lighting up at once, then all of a sudden two Valor players just sweep in and work together to reclaim a gym stolen by Instinct, and by the end of the night what was this morning a solid block of high level blue with a tiny bit of yellow is now two feeble blue gyms that could easily be taken out and a single red separating them.

This was all happening like within a few blocks or less frome me. One was just around the corner.

God that was cool.

Not bad.

You know I think my character is glitched. She's walks by herself therefore my eggs are getting easier to hatch. I haven't moved in an hour and my eggs are 1km closer...

here's a pic of the big baddie, he was even red and I caught him with 3 ball!

Open up your items menu and click on them. It will give you a list of Pokemon that you can select to use the item on.

List is blank despite my pidgiotto having no health since these battles are really confusing??

My whole area is dominated by reds now, atleast 20 people were walking around in my local side streets

yeah when i drove over to the bar to get the lure I saw a ton of people playing as well. I live in a really crummy area with few poke stops though so i have to drive over to them :(
