Gentleman Alfred will battle you anytime and gives out 1249 exp. $14400 w/ the amulet coin(Your mom will buy you the rare berries, focas sash, muscle band and choice scarf).
Hes located in the Olivine Lighthouse.

I just leveld up my Typhlosion to 43 with him and im not even in the ice path yet:D

^ Man that's sad. My game freezed on me and I lost about 2 hours of grinding (early in the game). It was frustrating as hell.

Hmm... Where do I find Bill to get my Eevee? When I met him he didn't give me anything. Also, I give Mom a lot of money but she doesn't buy me things. She once told me to go to a Poke Mart, and I skipped it for like 20 hours. Now, there's no guy in a Poke Mart, and my Mom doesn't call me to tell me about new purchases. Help, I guess?

Should be getting Soul Silver tomorrow! I had Gold the first time round so it'll be interesting to see if I like the exclusive Pokemon in Silver as opposed to the ones in Gold..

Though I don't think I will get used to having to use Vulpix instead of my beloved Growlithe.

Bill's family is in Goldenrod. It should be on the left side of the road near the underground passage entrance.

EDIT: This fucker Alfred does not wanna organize a match. It's Tuesday in between 10 AM and 8 PM game time, but the stubborn old man won't budge!

That sucks. Ive been batteling him for about 2 hours now.

I have 7 badges btw, that could have something to do with it.

That sucks too. Um try to look harder because there's always a delivery man when I walk into a Poke Mart.

edit: Should I trade Aqua Tail for Waterfall for my Dragonair?

I traded a Turtwig from Emerald and evolved him up to a Torterra purely because of the Torterra pic a few pages back. He's awesome btw. Him, Ho-Oh and my red gyarados are my faves so far.

Waterfall hits for less but is 100% accurate, and it's an HM, so yeah, I'd switch. The only reason you'd want either one over Surf is if your Dragonair is favoring attack over special attack though.

I named mine "Africa". I originally thought going Asia but it seemed excessive.

I finished that one but I still have the other guy's Shuckle named Shuckie, not sure when he takes it back so I've just kept it in a box.

Make sure you call her and tell her you want to save. That's what I did and he keeps buying me berries. She did get me a scarf, though.

Just beat the 7th gym. Man Pryce is a dick, he kept healing, took longer than i wanted to beat him.

Team consists of:

Scyther: lvl 30
Gengar: lvl 30
Red Gyarados: lvl 30
Alakazam: lvl 30
Quilava: lvl 29
Pideotto: lvl 26

Im planning on replacing pideotto later for Dragonite and was wondering, would growlithe/arcanine be a better choice than quilava/typhlosion?

That happened to me too. I was training my lvl 15 Ponyta when I accidentally ran into him. I didn't even know what to do. I ended up just throwing a pokeball at him hoping to get lucky. He got away. :lol

Gotta use Fastballs, man! Same thing happened to me with Entei. Thought 'Meh, why not' and threw a fastball. You can imagine my face after capturing him. :lol

Beat Morty last night.
Damn, the Gastly/Haunter/Gengar line have jaws made from glass. I rolled in with a level 25 Haunter and one-shotted all but the Gengar with Shadow Punch thanks to my superior speed. The Gengar survived though and Shadow Ball'd my Haunter to death (in one shot, may I add). Mareep managed to get in a Thunder Wave before getting knocked out and I had to depend on Totodile to Bite him to death. Thanks to paralysis, I managed to survive just long enough to beat him with my HP in the red.

Not evolving two of my three mains (Mareep and Totodile) for moves makes gym battles really challenging.

I was expecting more of a challenge from Whitney after all the complaints here. LV22 (or 23?) Quilava + LV17 (or 18?) Togepi was all I needed :) Had to use a Potion and Quilava was left with 1HP left but I did it!

Togepi evolves through happiness right?

Yeah I had an easy time with her as well with but with a Serene Grace Dunsparce + Headbutt. :lol
Though Chuck gave me a bit of trouble, surprisingly. (I even did Pryce and Jasmine before him so I had a few extra levels)

I've got 7 badges now and I've noticed something. It seems like there are too many types that are weak to electric so far. My Pikachu is level 40, which is 10 more than my next highest leveled poke, because I keep needing to use him. It seems like I've been able to sweep most people with Thunder.

As someone who hasnt played the original gold and silver...whats the better DS generation Pokemon game...Soul Silver/Heart Gold or Pokemon Platinum?

Heart Gold or Soul Silver is the better experience in my opinion. Way more to do and the game just has a better feel to it. Played all the generations and gold/silver is my favorite.
