I also reached the big town with the mall where you get the bike (don't know the english name) but the Casino in the european version is godawful, I was so disappointed... can i have a video of it in the jpn/usa version?

The casino in the US version is the same. Not sure about the JP version.

The slot machines were freaking rigged, I tell you. They frustrated me so much. Voltorb Flip, on the other hand, is an addictive puzzle game.

Edit: How's everyone finding shiny Pokemon? Only one I've ever had was the Red Gyarados.

Dont use repel really it lowers your chances of finding one in the wild . The odds are very low so you really need every random battle you can get if you really want one.

So I found out today that I'm going to have to wait 70, SEVENTY days before I can catch a Riolu in the Safari Zone due to the whole "block" system, I wasn't impressed at that revelation. I really want to not cheat by altering the time on my DS (if that'd even work). I want the sense of accomplishment, but come on, 70 days is just absurd.

Finally got a chance to pick this up. Only played an hour but I'm planning to play a lot more tomorrow. Really loving the music so far.

I totally agree, I find the music in Cerulean City really addictive to listen to, I think it's the same in another city.

So I found out today that I'm going to have to wait 70, SEVENTY days before I can catch a Riolu in the Safari Zone due to the whole "block" system, I wasn't impressed at that revelation. I can breed you one if you don't mind waiting a few days (in the process of transferring my breeding stuff over from Diamond to Heart Gold. Not sure what's where at this point.)

I totally agree, I find the music in Cerulean City really addictive to listen to, I think it's the same in another city.

The Safari Zone in HG/SS is absurd in general. I like that it's there as an option to get rare pokemon and alleviate reliance on the gen 3 games, but I don't want to have to rely on it to get pokemon that I actually want to use in my party. Especially with having a 440+ pokedex on Pearl. Why don't you just trade over a riolu from D/P/Pl? I'm pretty sure I've got a spare riolu or lucario laying around or could breed you one if you want.

Edit: Hey I guess I'll just toss out an open invitation if anybody needs anything just send me a PM. I've got a LOT of pokemon and can breed something for anybody that needs something. I won't trade away any of my legendaries and I don't have any event pokemon (aside from an extra pikachu-colored pichu), but if it's able to be bred, I more than likely have it and can get you one.

Can someone confirm if my thinking on EVs is correct or not?

I have a Beldum, I want to train him in attack EVs, but he is a rather low level and I want to level him up at the same time. I'm on route 42, surfing, since there is a 90% chance to find Goldeen and a 10% chance to find Seaking.

He has had Pokerus, and I have him holding the power bracer. So when I find a goldeen or seaking, and switch it to something stronger to kill it off, he still gains all 10 (or whatever) EVs from the battle, correct?

Nothing wrong with that moveset, to be honest. You could give it earthquake if you want to, instead of fire blast. IMO, Accuracy>Power.

Correct. he should be getting 10 from goldeens and 12 from seaking, but you worded it as though he HAD pokerus. If there is no longer a purple pokerus logo in his summery, and an indifferent smiley, than he doesn't get double evs anymore.

I could be wrong about the pokerus disease not being active once the face is there, it could just be the pokemon no longer being contagious.

The lack of purple logo only indicates infectivity. Benefits for EV training will remain with Pokemon that have or have had Pokerus.

Either event or cheating. I wanted one too, but my dreams were crushed when I found out. And I don't want an illegitimate Pokemon. Blissey can still do a lot of good stuff without Wish, though.

I'm pretty sure it's been proven that the AI literally rigs the battles against you as your streak improves. So it's not just sour grapes from people, the battle tower really is an asshole!

Dude, really? With the slot machines in Platinum, in about half an hour to an hour I got enough coins to buy Psychic.

It's super easy and super fast. Dump about 5 tries, to the pokeball beats, then Clefairy pops up, then you get a 777 by going by the beat of Clefairy's claps, and from there you got 2000 coins handed to you. Rinse and repeat.

Not saying it was cool or anything, it wasn't, but it was easy. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Voltorb thing. I can be a real badass in Picross 3D and the newspaper equivalent, but with the Voltorb Flip I just flipped the 0's, then quit, until I had enough money for a Sandshrew.

Raikou and Entei are also giving me fits! I've thrown 18 fastballs at a sleeping raikou with 1 hp, and they've all failed instantly. I remember it being like that when I chased them down in silver, too.
