I'll edit this if I ever get it working.

Yeah, this isn't happening. Not tonight anyway.

No wireless connections available and internet connection sharing isn't set up properly, so I can't use the USB dongle.

Aww, that sucks. Sorry man. Now I know why you use Shoddy. :p

I actually really dislike Shoddy.

In other news, Latias is on its way back to Ubers and Salamence is being put up for a vote. As an ice-type specialist, you can be sure that I'm just thrilled about this.

And tune in next month, when we put our crosshairs upon Tyranitar/Dragonite so we can eliminate the next big threat to our precious metagame!

I don't care that much as long as they scale back some of the bans when B&W hit. IMO, any non-legendary ban should have to be rejustified with each new update to the game.

Otherwise I'm going to stick to doubles more often. A metagame free from the singles mentality of entry hazards, switches, and counters is so appealing right now. Think through your bad matchups instead of throwing your hands up in frustration, dangit!

I agree. Salamence getting banned to Ubers would almost assuredly cause a snowball effect dragging Tyranitar, Dragonite and Metagross with it. Just imagine how stallish OU would be then. :/. We're in for some rough times ahead.

Dragonite would never go to Ubers because he's not very good. I don't ever see Metagross going either. Salamence has been a suspect since the beginning of DP. Tyranitar maybe as he was the first non-600+ base legendary to be considered for banning.

DP seems like a transitional generation as Smogon starts testing rules that haven't been checked for two generations. I really wish they tested Evasion and OHKO clause before these Pokemon though.

Shoot, does anyone know if you can import Pokemon from a US GBA game into an Australian DS SoulSilver?

I was able to import Pokemon from Australian GBA games to US DS games, so I don't see why the opposite wouldn't work.

So, I was lucky and got a Pokerus infected Pokemon. Am I getting it right, that I will not lose it if at least one Pokemon infected with it is in a box?

Non-gimmicky Metagross is hard countered by Bronzong and Rotom-A so it's doubtful it'd ever get banned. Plus you still have bulky Water types like Swampert and even Vaporeon that can deal with it most of the time. Its mixed set can beat its counters but then it loses a lot of effectiveness against everything else.

I don't know about that exactly. Dragonite is the sleeping giant in all of this. A lot of the sets it's capable of running aren't used because Salamence can pull it off more easily due to that faster Speed. A couple of extra Pokemon capable of revenge-killing the Dragon Dance set may or may not be the difference between its fate and that of Salamence. It might not get banned but it'll most definitely be considered (after Salamence/Tyranitar). Time constraints could play a role too with B/W creeping up on us.

Tyranitar is not without it counters either. Most sets get eaten alive by Scizor, and the ones that don't get destroyed by Hippowdon, Mamoswine, Swampert etc.

Besides it's not like these Pokémon are suspects because they're ruining the metagame, it's because people don't want to bother trying to fight against them.

Is the metagame based on singles? I've been playing doubles and the strategies are a lot different.

Currently filling up a box of above average/decent Houndours. :(

Done this five times, no plate. What am I doing wrong, in this case?

Money is so useless except for buying vitamins. Just spamming "A" at the Daily Drawing Corner and listening for the no. 1 prize jingle. Think I've burned about 15k so far for one Shadow Claw.

They should really make it so that you can buy any TM you want if you have enough money. I hate having to trade with people for certain TM's and I hate that other TM moves are only available in older generations or crossbreeds.

It's a big waste of time for people trying to breed good pokes.

100% Accurate

Available to nearly every single physical attacker in the game.

Super-effective against a wide range of types including many otherwise-ubers and defensive walls.

Earthquake

Figured as much. Haven't even gotten to the Mahogany Gym yet.

Yep, if you want to play competitively you pretty much have to hack. Some of the best Pokes require 100 days of objects placed in the Safari Zone, tons of BP, etc. Hopefully we'll get more routes like Winner's Path in the Pokewalker.

Egg number 29 gave me a superior Houndour, with bad nature (+Atk, -Def) and Early Bird. Gah.

One single feature could redeem the TM mistakes for me. A larger pokemon day care center where you could put as many as 3 or five pairs to breed at the same time. It would cut IV breeding time by up to 75%.

A nice loophole for the kids would be that "the extra pokemon are released into the wild and donated to shelters where they can be adopted".

That alone could make up for the lack of a larger TM library in a big way for me.

Are you using a ditto?

I can't imagine IV breeding without an IV ditto at this point. I've only got one pokemon left to IV breed(I've breed over 10 already!) and then I can take a break for a little while so I guess it ain't so bad. The amount of eggs it takes to get pokes with good IVs can be mindbending for those of us who lack an OCD though.:lol

Bah. Hacking, shmacking. I once started buying a bunch of TMs on Platinum that I didn't need because I kept getting close to the 999 BP limit!

Event-only things like the Winner's Path are more justifiable for hacking since they screw over latecomers.

So, I've been playing SoulSilver quite a bit since I got it (well, I just got to Goldenrod and I'm preparing to rage against Whitney or whatever), and so far I'm loving everything in it. Don't know if it's lucky or not that my Cyndaquil was infected with Pokerus when I got it, I know it's good, of course. Just sayin'.. :lol

Were you on DPPt or something the last time I battled you?

I'm in the room, but if that's the case, I'll log out and log back in again.

gg. That Earthquake was pretty funny. :lol That's why almost every Pokemon in doubles typically carries Protect.

I'm ready when you are Andrex. Use my Plat FC: 2750-6983-3519

I almost feel guilty. >_> gg regardless.

Anyway, some thoughts:

- Aftermath > Unburden, especially if you don't have anything to take advantage of the latter.
- Hypnosis' accuracy sucks.
- Priority moves!

Good game.

It did have Aftermath, or so I thought. I thought Hypnosis was good enough for its needs, it wasn't supposed to be a dedicated sleep inducer.
