Pokémon presents announced 8/18 6am PDT

Relevant. I'm not expecting all that much. Maybe Pokemon Legends has an update. Since Sword/Shield and Little Town Hero my opinion of Gamefreak has decreased.

Get ready to decrease your levels of excitment lmao

Can't wait to see lower level of quality.

It's probably just going to be Diamond and Pearl and maybe something about Pokemon Legends. I really hope PLA has a better showing and the framerate and performance isn't ass.

I'm always cautiously optimistic about what these lazy fucks have to present.

I love Pokemon, for better or for worse.

It's that futile optimism that they will actually make a Pokemon version of BOTW. Legends Arceus looked really rough but I'm just hoping it was a super early build.

Nice. They didn't show anything at the Nintendo Direct, right? Looking forward to seeing more of the games. I'll be happy with just a longer trailer for the remakes and Legends Arceus.

I do not know if I will watch.

My interest is in only in the battling and trades. Arceus is a totally single player game (it seems), and Sword and Shield will continue to be the VGC one, so I have 0 interest in Diamond and Pearl remakes.

Im out of the loop, so sword and shield are done for?
It seems so, despite the game still selling good.

New trailer for Diamond and Pearl remake. Looks improved graphically from the initial trailer for those who care and lot of good features included in this remake. Can't wait to have Pokemon follow.

Also got a awesome new Arceus trailer.

I'm sorry but Legends looks shocking. A tree in the trailer renders in when it's about 20 meters away from the player. Just so, so piss poor. I'm not even a graphics snob, but I'd expect a better looking game on the Game Cube. We actually had one that looked comparable;

Fuckin' gamefreak man.

Wait I'm confused, so is this the Pokemon presents or is it just trailers being released beforehand?

edit: Ah now I see it. In other words, of the 28 minutes, only about 6 minutes was of interest to everyone. Not surprised in the slightest :D

Why everytime I watch the remakes I feel like they are mobile games?

I mean, are they interesting in moving this game to mobile too or something?

Well...at least the human models in battles seems nice.

There is a loads of 'not real gameplay footage' in this presentation.

Diamond/Pearl remake looks 'OK' I guess, but IDK why back to the chubby chars. And no ranked battle is quite bizzare to me. They're actually rushing things to reach the data limited as usual.
Less reason to cut Pokemons again I hope.

I don't mind if its chibi or not for overworld exploration. It's not that big a deal for me.

Anyways, I can't wait to explore

I think this is what people mean when they say Game Freak/the Pokemon Company/Nintendo are lazy with Pokemon games.

Zelda literally came out almost four years ago. Maybe they had been busy with other stuff but I mean come on... surely they could have started development earlier and come up with something a bit more... filled with effort. They practically look like games from two completely different generations.

Even that I find rather impossible to believe this is an entirelly work of Gamefreak. GF are stone age level of developers, even this game sounds and looks way to much for them. They're probably receiving help from other people.

I was going to say Arceus looks like a mobile game ripoff of BotW but then I remembered that's Genshin Impact and it actually looks good so Arceus is more like a Unity asset flip made by a Bulgarian guy in his garage.

I can appreciate the push for open world Pokemon. Hope the framerate is stable. It looks decent, I'm just worried about performance since it's lolgamefreak.

PS3 era called, it want it's ground textures and pop-in back.

The gameplay looks interesting, but Gamefreak haven't introduced new gameplay into the series this different ever, I mean since GB it's all been essentially the same. Hopefully they know what they're doing.

One thing about GameFreak, they're the most environmentally friendly company, they've been recycling assets and textures for decades.

I almost sure BOTW Team is helping Game Freak this time. No way they could delivery this same design for this short deadline (jan 2022).

I don't mind too, but feels more like a regression over Moon/Sun to me. They can argue about being genuine as possible, but I don't buy this bs.

I need to fire up Skyrim on the Switch to compare.

I am happy to see Pokemon moving to a different direction but yea..the game visuals are lacking. Still gonna keep an eye on the game..If framerate and gameplay are good then that will be enough for me.

Game Freak is a handheld developer first and foremost, and it shows. Still, they are doing new stuff which I applaud.

Arceus looks like the Pokemon game I've wanted for a long time......... if it was being made by a group of fans in their free time on a budget of $0.
Those environments literally look like they bought the cheapest, lowest quality stock assets they could find and then threw some Pokemon in there.

Meanwhile a more niche, lower selling franchise on weaker hardware:

Even calling this game 'mobile' is not right because there are mobiles game with good looking.

I hope Legends turns out good. Having an action order excites me. I sure wish the graphics would improve, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

they should stop showing cinematic shots.

My god that is ugly.

Most successful media franchise in the world ladies and gents. And they're gonna rush out this pile of nonsense.
Gameplay concept is lovely for a change, but my god the visual design is horrific. Animation, textures, lighting, draw distance....

DP remakes look cute tho.

Legends looks absolutely disgusting.

What year is this? Game looking a PSone game and visually on par with Megaman Legends itself.

Impressive. This game still holds pretty well.

It really does.

And it's not only the textures or draw distance, but the really nice art direction with interesting and varied geography. Like those big rock formations in the screenshot instantly make it more unique and memorable.
In contrast this Pokemon game looks like it is using some stock engine environment, just a generic set of empty green hills with some pokemon in them
