Pokebomb: Mega Charizard 2.0 - How to Train Your Dragon

Starting to wonder if all of the mega evolutions aren't "version" specific (IE you have to get the items from said version)

I hope so, as it would be bullshit if there are certain Pokemon you simply cannot have in one version. Not being able to catch a Pokemon in a specific version is fine, as you can trade, but this is different.

I just remembered that since Fire resists Fairy, Mega Charizard X isn't weak to Fairy types, so it's only weak to Dragon, Ground, and Rock (2x now).

What are the chances of either Blastoise / Venusaur getting an exclusive Pokemon Y mega evolution?

Apparently the Mega Stone you get for Charizard is specifically Charizardite "X" or "Y" whereas the one you get for Venasaur is just "Venasaurite" :(

He's still better than that spiky emo Charizard anyway

Holy shit, apparently they are version exclusives. I was joking!!

Looks like Pokemon X is my version.

That gif looks so stupid. I mean, MewTwo is basically just staring at Xzard as he charges up his punch. If I were the strongest pokemon alive, I'd be doing.. I don't know.. something else maybe.

If you were the strongest pokemon alive, Charizard's NU bitch ass being threatening to your existence would never even be fathomable. You would think you could take anything his poverty level 84 base attack stat weak physical attacking type could possibly hope to dish out and laugh at him afterward.

Until you get your shit rocked

Can't have it all. :( I've never been this torn in Pokémon history. Usually the choice between the two versions is an obvious one for me. Game Freak really got me this time.

I'm gonna have nightmares about choosing the wrong version. Still, I haven't played more than a couple hours of any game since Gold, so I should find plenty of new stuff regardless of which version I get.

This might be a silly question but is it confirmed that charizard x exclusive to version x? I'm worried they might pull a switch like they did with legendaries in black/white. I just want to make sure I get my awesome Charizard Y.

Charizard X is exclusive to X. The reason why Reshiram was in Black and Zekrom in White was because of the Yin/Yang theme.

I'm still leaning Y, but barely. Charizard Y is going to be an offensively FIRE beast. Increased SP. Atk w/ Drought is going to be out of control. I don't like Zard as an offensive poke anyways, but the weakness reductions for Zard X is pretty noticeable. We'll see!

I haven't really been following pokemon news, but do the other Kanto starters have version specific mega evolutions? Because I need to know where to get the best Mega Blastoise before I decide on X or Y.

Ah thanks. Unless Blastoise X is fuckawesome I'm secured for Pokemon Y.

My man.

So suppose I get Y version anyway: will there only be one chunk of these mega stones per game? Like people with X won't have a chunk of X to share with me, will they?

Unconfirmed, but the mega stone for Venusaur that's given to you when you pick Bulbasaur is not X or Y specific like Charizard's.

Ok, this is awesome. Now I want a Water/Dark Mega Blastoise X and Grass/Fairy Mega Venusaur X. Those would make the X version more than "Superior".

I think I actually like Y better :<
Fire/Dragon typing is niiiice though. This is the first X exclusive that I actually like. BS that only Charizard gets this treatment.

I already have a shiny Charizard anyways, color ain't an incentive. Wonder if Shiny Mega Zard X is orange.

GAH, I was Dead set on Buying Pokemon Y because of (Red Box) and (Better Legendary) but X keeps getting the better Mega evolutions...Cant #TeamY get tossed a bone?

How is revealing that mega charizard exists and a 2.0 exists not a spoiler on a forum where we were avoiding even implying the original starters had them ?

Im not even on a blackout, im just pointing it out.

Because if Nintendo makes a trailer about/announces part of the game, it's probably fair to assume it's not a spoiler.

A certain subset of people not wanting to know about it doesn't make it a spoiler.

I don't like how it turns blue. So far I prefer Y-Zard (which is a shame since I've preordered X). If X-Zard's shiny form is black/red, on the other hand...

EDIT: Also the other starters better get this treatment too. Stop playing favourites, Game Freak :(

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Charizards are orange,
Mega Charizard Y, I choose you.

I think they divided features between them correctly. Mega Y seems like a more pure Charizard form, and Mega X has several characteristics fans have called out for years, but have a less traditional feel to them. Good choices in my opinion.
