His team sucks, he doesn't work towards his goals (when is the last time this fucker "breed" anything?), his whole "I lovz the ladies and I gotz to be stopped before a sexual harassment case happens, WOOOOOOO!!!!" act got old a few gens ago and he is pretty much a cook for kids that are only alil younger then him.

He is a nanny . . . I liked Tracy MUCH more and he was weak sauce. (At least that fucker drew stuff.)

Tracey sucks and has always sucked. Brock may be a bit tired at this point, but at least he was great at one point. Plus he's a gym leader, anybody else they get would be a step down.

I DO know that he is part of the reason I don't read the latest Pokemon Manga series . . .

Brock was the weakest gym leader of his land . . . he can get served by any starter without the fire typing.

And with them not using the B/W girl ( . . . that sucks, guess she is too old and they don't want to age up Ash :/ ) I could see the B/W guy coming to take the place of older male" role . . . but he is far too close to Ash to be the pick IMO.

Not anymore. One of his 12434353 brothers is the new gym leader. Tracey sucks, all he does is draws and ignores his Scyther.

Was a gym leader until he gave that up to dick-ride Ash for 3 goddamned gens. And they don't want to use the new female cause they are afraid of having a character that doesn't look like a douchbag. Goddamn the anime sucks >_<

Hey, the manzais are awesome. Dia is also awesome in Adventures. :lol Cracks me up all the time.
 
Brock was always my favorite. If I still watched or cared about the anime I'd be pretty mad that they're kicking him off again.
 
He's a ladies man with squinty eyes who sounds like Gourry from Slayers. The other characters are ten thousand light-years from being as cool as him.

So it wasn't just me. That entire arc screamed "contractual obligation". Not that the Battle Frontier has ever been compelling content.

Can someone recommend me which Pokemon manga I should start with?

I want one that's as close to the actual main game series as possible. I feel like the anime really failed me in that area. Also I remember seeing a scan awhile ago of an Arbok getting hacked in half, that was pretty sweet.

Just go with Adventures/Special. Same thing. All others suck.

I'm sort of intrigued of the rumor about the excavating thing. So how would the game "close"? If they don't have a Pokemon league what could it possibly be or if it will be integrated how will it make sense?

And what possibly does Plasma mean for the evil plot? Oooh the mysteries.

Even though I stopped watch the Pokemon anime since the Johto season ended I would find it a nice change of pace if the anime followed with the rumor and have Ash and friends going through ruins as well. Maybe the two game protagonists will be recurring characters or even rivals? That is if any of this is true.
