Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

Thus we see why it should be absolutely necessary to see no "classic" pokemon appear until after the Elite Four are beaten. I'm not sure if it would be better to have geodude and zubat make their triumphant return in every cave, though, or suffer through the "me too" pokemon of the same types a la the other early game pidgey, rattata, caterpie, and pikachu replacements.

Not exactly keeping my hopes high with either scenario.
Since Zubat, Geodude, Magikarp and Tentacool are in EVERY game, I don't care if we get a new batch of similar Pokémon. Something different D=

Couldn't help to draw this.
Should have made them all water types . . . there are WAY too many fucking water types compared to the tiny as fuck amount of fire/ dark/ dragon types and they just KEEP ADDING MORE every gen. WHY!?!?!

It only makes sense that there would be more water types than any other. If anyone is underrepresented, it's bug.

Most of the world is covered in water. Thereofore there'd be more water pokemon.
Doesn't mean 20% of the Pokemon in a fictional game should be of one type that produces mostly lame creatures. :/

Using that same logic bug Pokemon should be the largest amount in the series, because "insects" can live on both land and water and there are a shit ton of them.

And how could that logic be applied to other types? Should the game be over run with dark types because theres allot of shadows and darkness in the world? What dictates the tiny amount of fire types seeing as their not limited to one "type" of animal in the real world?

I would take a game that tries to make use of all it has over one that uses one sided logic.

didn't he say that just now

I was replying to Galvanise, who is the one who explained how he/ she feels it makes sense.

Like I said, that logic still fails because there should be more bug types than water if they (Gamefreak or Fans) want to use that logic.

I think I'm gonna start chopping shit like this up to laziness. Easier to make tons of uninteresting, bland fish than it is to make Pokemon from the "cool types" that people expect to be more interesting (Fire/ Dragon/ Dark for example).

Quite a lot of those would be bug/water types I guess too...

I think that the problem is a lot of the game is spent travelling on water so the designers feel compelled to only use water Pokemon (and only a strict number of them). I've always presumed this is to help out the younger players so the battle options that they could face would be reduced.

I'm not sure how you'd get around the zubat/geodude problem though. You either have a set pokemon pool for each area that is only for that area, or a massive say 16 pokemon pool for all the caves. If a pokemon was rare and only in one 16 pokemon pool it could take ages to find though which would be annoying.

I dunno. I thought Bidoof was pretty awesome. Didn't mind seeing him all over the place, so I think I'd go for new "me too" copycats.

It's kinda strange that there aren't that many bug Pokémon. Didn't Tajiri get his idea for the series from his hobby of bug collecting? :lol

There are quite a few bug Pokemon, but most are kinda useless so you really don't think about them too much. Game Freak tries to make them useful by having their attacks strong against Psychic and Dark Pokemon, but there are so few really powerful bug moves.

What I don't like is the pure abundance of water Pokemon. Yeah, I know there's a lot of crazy shit in the ocean so it's easy to make Pokemon based off of them, but let's take a break from them for a bit.

I wish the next Generation would have some references to Sentai of some sort.

You know, like a miniboss group made up of five people with distinct Pokemon, or a single trainer with distinct mons?

All the well fire types have to be picked from the fucking start if you want a decently strong and cool one. :/

it is not

"chop it up"

it is

"chalk it up"

thank you

>:(

I like to chop things up damn it, so leave me alone!

Edit: But yeah, I think both work regardless of what it "should be".

Example: Gamefreak doesn't do this, that, Pokemon sprite animation, 8 directions, keeps flooding the game with easy to design lame ass fish pokemon aka watertypes ans so on and so on . . . .

Chop up all that mess and call it " they are just fucking lazy, lets see what they do now . . . >_>

See, IT WORKS! :D

We wouldn't have current day "old phases" if someone didn't start them in the past!

My Ruby version says the battery ran dry ;_;

No more time based events... rocket launches are at 9999 >_<; no espy/umby, no shoal cave, no berries.... ahhh another game rendered useless now!

Do the newer games also run their clocks on a battery or is it more safely based off the DS internal clock?

I don't think the DS cards can fit a battery in, although apparently they crammed an IR port into the HGSS carts. But yeah, the DS games all use the DS's clock. They also use the flash storage of the carts, which has a much longer degrade time than whatever the GB/GBC/GBA carts used.

I think you can replace the battery, but you may lose your savegame.

Coooool buts I'm still not convinced. Ya can only trade over 6 pkmn at a time. Per day. I have all 386 PKMN sitting on my Box memory card. Ya have any idea how long that would take?! Granted I guess I could only *need* ta send over the uniques, 100's, faves, but still...

That would be even worse x_x;

Connect your Ruby to Emerald ( I think ) or Colosseum/XD and it'll fix the battery issue, Lindsay.

I tried that... no extra free Jirachi from the Colo Bonus Disc cause I'd already installed the patch from it on my Ruby cart. I traded a PKMN with my Colo & XD saves to it as well but no fix. Batterys dead after just 7 years. Sapphires still works somehow even though I played it alot more. I guess that'll go sooner or later to. Sapphire shuttle launches up to 371 btw.
