Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

Hasn't anyone else noticed how, regardless of how short are the girl's blooper-jeans, the boy is all covered up with a jacket yet the girl only has a vest over a tank top?

Also, they probably decided to have older (at least on paper) trainers so poképorn doesn't get so much out of whack. But hey, it's their own fault for drawing 10 yo kids and make them look and behave like they're 15.

Best trainer designs, and that smooth motherfucker of a Grass starter? Yup. I'm warming up to the Water one anyway. Probably will pick the sucker, too. And Fire pig, is damn cute and awesome. His final form should be badass.

If we are judging the entire game, based on starters, then this can't be the worst, then.

All the shit we already loathe will still be in there if they decide to keep the game fully backwards compatible. They may skip some things like HMs if you can only import from 4th gen to 5th but not the other way round but I wouldn't be so optimistic. They have dozens of solutions to fix HMs, but that doesn't mean they will. This is Pokémon after all: recycle everything you can, apply zero intelligence, don't touch any feature at all even if it's something that comes from 8 bit restrictions and can be done 10 times better and more efficient.
 
The more I look at the water starter the more I pity it. I don't see how it can evolve into anything badass.

And for the girl trainer, this should be her theme song.

A lot of the screens show off urban environments, maybe instead of fields, rivers, mountains etc. this gen will focus on cities, towns, and other man-made areas. The buildings also look to scale.

Zoroark's Illusion ability sounds interesting, possibly it is showcasing some new feature, hence him being the mascot.

But the thing I want most out of Gen V is an easy way to transfer my Diamond and SS Pokemon over.
 
I think this is the first gen ever where I wanted to play with the Grass starter over the Water or fire starter. :lol

Meanwhile, the trainers have an awesome retro style going on. I'm hyped. :D

Look at the two page scan with the two playable characters on the sides. On the page with the boy, there are three images stacked on top of each other. It's the middle one. Look at the lower left-hand corner of that image.

I am not sure how the Grass one classifies as a snake?? looks more like a gecko to me.

Not really sold on the designs of the starters. They all look rather mediocre imo. Oh well, there will be plenty more new pokemon to win me over.
 
i like the otters design, but if that lizard learns leaf blade somewhere down the line, i may have to pick him as my starter. and the pig. he reminds me of chowder.
 
Calling it now the water staters gonna have an awesome 3rd form. Im picking grass but it all really depends when i see the grass one. Fire pig looks ace his final evo is gonna be a beast i can fell it. Like allways i play as all 3 in every gen.

So this is just going to be another Pokemon game, with no real radical changes? Hope that isn't the case :| They had a chance to really make something better with the entire series, but instead it seems they will keep on rehashing as it will sell 13590735027 copies :(

Yeah with all the info we currently have, we can safely say this will be no different than the other pokemon games.

Get over it :\

The radical changes will be left to the spin-offs. The main series will only ever make incremental changes, it is never going to be the game you want it to be. That's disappointing, I'm sure, but at a certain point you really should accept it.

I'm over it as of 10 minuets ago. I hope everyone enjoys the game, and I hope a fresh new exciting take on the Pokemon series isn't too far away. Holiday 2011 BELIEVE! :(

Why not expect radical changes? I mean, Gamefreak is hyping a major shift in their games for the first time ever (the only time something similar happened was the introduction of Steel and Dark, but it wasn't as emphasized as this). I really don't think Gamefreak has a known track record of being blatant liars or over-exaggerators.

Yes, we know it's going to feature sprites, but that's all we really know about these games due to the severe lack of footage or details on what they're exactly about.
 
Why the fuck isn't Nintendo saving this game for 3DS launch? Just imagine the handheld being released on the same day as a new Pokemon game.

Because it would sell a lot less and not reach most of the game's audience?

Because 3DS currently has an install base of 0 and as a successor to the best selling system of all time will probably not need an extra boost to its sales and would lose people who want to play Pokemon but don't want to upgrade for every person who upgrades just for Pokemon.

This way you get a Pokemon hype train started early, get people to buy DSes and 3DSes with whatever Mario-related software they have for it, and make more money.

In addition, Gamefreak does not have to fuddle with new hardware they're not used to, can get the game out this year, and it can be launched in America before the 3DS has to come out here and while DS sales are still soaring.

By that logic, Nintendo shouldn't ever be making games for the 3DS because the user base right now is still 0.
