I like how no generation 1 pokemons are considered ugly despite Oddish,Tangela,Digglet etc...

It's a friggin' seed!And Sunflora is a cool sunflower.

I think that's a bit too hard on some of the new guys. Like, Abomnsnow and Snover are awesome. Same with Drapion, Diftblim, Luxray, Bastiodon, Electivire...

See, my whole problem is that modern Pokemon-games seem to introduce Pokemon that humanoid that they´re becoming sexualized, see Guardevoir (and dont google it >_<). That was never a problem with Blue/Red-gen Pokemon.

Sure, if it maxes at 61/65 (along with the normal Hidden Power). Better nerf it as much as possible before Technician.

I'm tired of Hidden Power honestly. The bias for special attackers is bad enough but just the idea of a free type attack is annoying. Maybe I'm alone on this.

Machoke and Jynx are sexualized too,more than Guardevoir.
How can you judge pokemons on Fan art?I mean you'll always see the sickest things in fanart but they're not official so who cares?
Guardevoir doesn't even have a body:it's just a dress.

I really like this actually. Well done!

What I have noticed about all the interpreted designs that portray the curved part as a crest on the back of the head, though, is that it makes them look extremely vague about what kind of animal it's supposed to be. I mean you could claim it to be a lizard but I think it's much clearer that it's part of a bird beak and those that show it as part of the animal's beak just make that much more sense than some crest.

Gen 1 has the WORST abominations ever made and its gets a pass because people think the things they thought were cool when they were 5 are still awesome.

I'm expecting the water one to be the best looking, based on the silhouettes, followed by grass. Not expecting much from the fire pig.
Also, last night I had a dream about Gen V, and there were only a handful of new Pokémon and you had to trade certain Pokémon from the other games to unlock them. The graphics were like the Gameboy games, but with a GBA palette.

Poochyena and Mightyena ugly? wtf

Too forgiving with Gen 1, just right with Gen 2 for the most part, and too harsh on Gen 3. Gen 4 has the oddest choices by far (Lucario's ugly but Probopass is cool? :lol) but I do think they have a lot of ugly stuff, particularly evolutions.

But wasn't it trippy when you went to the Power Plant, thought you found an item, and then BAM it's a Pokemon. It's the Pokemon version of those treasure chest mimics that are in every RPG.

I think a lot of the admiration for gen 1 Pokemon is nostalgic, but a lot of people are drawn to their more simplistic and streamlined designs. Not to mention even though there are nearly 500 Pokemon, there are still many usable Pokemon from gen 1 when it comes to competitive battling or just making it through the main story.
 
It's moreso a "seek comfort through familiarity" kind of thing. Gen I and II have a larger proportion of Pokemon that physically look like real-life animals.

People like Gen 1 Pokeymanz because those are the Pokeymanz of their childhood. Just like current fans will be bitching about how Gen IV was the pinnacle of Pokeyman designs when Gen VIII is announced.

i have nostalgia for old pokemon games because that's when they were still new and fun
and i have open hostility for new pokemon games because it's all the same shit over and over

but i still think new pokemon designs are (usually) better than old pokemon designs
