Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

I'm guessing "Wireless" stands for local wireless, and "Wi-Fi" for Internet battles.

What I'm wondering about is that "IR" text at the top.
Could this imply connectivity with Pokewalker? Or other IR features?

Could be a stretch.

Also, weather icon FTW.

Every time I see your avatar I can 'hear' it. :lol

It's always like you're trying to say the post but the Blastoise in the background is just slamming random keys.

Official website (http://www.pokemon-sp.jp/series/bw) has been updated with clearer screens and art.

It also mentions you can upload your save file to a special website to play Pokemon over the internet. Once you're done, you can send your save file back to the DS to keep playing. It doesn't say if you can play the full game or only some of it on this website though. Sounds interesting.

Holy shit fuck.

This points far more at the website content being different from the game. It makes much more sense than just uploading your save and playing Pokemon on the website.

Yeah, that's what it sounds like. Could be a glorified Wi-Fi Plaza.

I'm going with NYC for the region's inspiration, shape-wise. I mean, you've got Central Park, the Financial District, the Brooklyn Bridge is in roughly the right place. The geography is quite a bit different, of course, unless they're implying that the east and west villages are a desert.

I will be amazed if any game announced tomorrow causes me more anticipation than this one.
I dunno, Golden Sun DS is drawing my attention...

Although TBH, I wanna see both these games on the show floor.

One screen with Pikagray was in perfect quality and ripping the sprite was a snap:

I don't get the upload thing. To me it sounds like they're putting Super Contest/Pokeathlon-like content on the website and connecting what you do there to your game, but it has to be deeper than that... just to upload your save file.

I could actually see this being the Pokemon Mascot if he had come out in the first gen when they were still trying to pick a winner in the race to rep Pokemon.

Nah. Gray wouldn't work as a mascot color.

I bet he's pick up by a trainer in the new anime. Is Dawn sticking around or they replacing her?

According to one of their storyboard artist Dawn and Brock leave and the new girl is a anime original girl and not the B/W girl.

So far only the two legendaries have official US names right?

Zorua and Zoroark. Wasn't something said about the US premiere of the movie on CN like the last one? Or at least an official English title?

speaking about that, they should release the Celebi over wifi right?

Officially, yes. However, zoroark.com re-directs to the US website so it's very likely that Zoroark will keep its name for the US version.

Looks like you can set which weather you want during battle during online matches.
you can set it? link?
I thought that pic on the touch screen was just to bypass that annoying rain animation between turns.

Would be nice if it just rained constantly instead of taking extra time though.

GBC compatibility confirmed! Mystery gifts are back baby!

I'm trying to figure it out. But now that I look at it I don't think you can. That picture is under the GAME SYSTEM part of the information, and at the top it says IR, Wi-Fi, and Wireless. Does DSi have IR? (3DS?)
Then from that screen I take it you have an option of selecting any of those icons to configure before battle. "Bag" to see if you have the items youre gonna need for the battle, "Pokemon" to check and shift your team if the weather creates a disadvantage (if they dont allow you to configure the weather). And once youre ready to battle, just tap "Battle" in the center. I just dont know what this has to do with GAME SYSTEM, or if this happens before every battle against a trainer or just online challenges.

Iwata just announced the next pokemon is using 3ds features, specifically its always on tag mode, even if the pokemon game is not in your 3ds.

Announced it on the post e3 programming going on at e3.nintendo.com

Is it B/W? Or a spinoff?

Would like to know if it's B/W as well. It would be a great way to boost sales of the third version this time if it was 3DS only is my guess, but eh. They're probably already working on another game considering the game is almost out, and they've only been working on a remake prior to that.

Very interesting, thanks for the tidbit!

They also announced Ranger 3 for America. Until I actually see this Q and A for myself I'll hardly believe it.

Wow, you argued so vehemently against something that would be a no-brainer for GameFreaks to put in B/W. Hope you're happy Andrex.

Andrex, I listened to the Iwata ask as well and he does bring up "Pokemon" in the list of games for that part about tag mode.

. . . Why he would only be referring to a spin off game thats already released in Japan and has had no importance at E3 is beyond me.

Take it or leave it but it sounds like theres gonna be at least one cool feature for the game if used in the 3DS (much like I have been saying regardless of the personal attacks from some people here).

Wow. This further raises my question about whether game save data is stored on the 3DS or the 3/DS cartridge.

I wonder if the game will support certain other 3DS features, like, well, the 3D.

Get over yourself, I'm not arguing for or against anything. It's just been my prediction that it wouldn't happen. If it uses the 3DS that'd be fantastic as I'll be there day one for both the system and the game. I still have doubts about whether that's the case or not, however.

. . . Wat?

You have been trying to cut down any and all things that could point at these games having DSi/ 3DS enhancements for, like, ever! 0_o

Even right now you would pick a released spin off game to have these enhancements over B/W.

Better be the cart...

Also, PLEASE 3DS ENHANCED SINCE I WILL HAVE a 3DS AT LAUNCH ( HELL YEAH )

I've been discouraging the possibility because there's been no evidence. The only solid thing we still have even today is the TWL number on the boxarts. This means that if it is 3DS enhanced, it will probably be in separate boxes, and not all on the same cart.
