Why is it so close?!?! FUCK?!?! Where is the oppo?!?!
Bnqydha.jpg

I love liberals. We're winning by every metric you could think of. Trump's map is shrinking. Ours is expanding. We have a ground game. He has nothing. He's behind by 12 points. We're ahead everywhere that matters. (Ohio may or may not matter, it depends). We don't need more oppo to drop. It doesn't matter whatever desperate thing the deplorables cling to. We win by doing better than they do. It's all good.

This, IMO, has a lot to do with Reagan-era hangovers. Liberalism was at a low-point, the culture had embraced hyper-masculine meathead politics, and super-predatory Capitalism. They were told the culture had rejected them and that the Alex P. Keaton's of the world were our future.

It's a hard thing to shake off

October 13th-16th Wisconsin:

http://www.nbc26.com/news/feingold-leads-johnson-in-st-norbert-college-poll

Hillary+9
Feingold+12

There are a lot of shy Ron Johnson voters in this poll but they would still put Feingold+9 or +10.

No idea how good this poll is.
I'm at the point where good Senate polling gets me higher on hopium more than anything else. I think I've developed a tolerance to good Presidential polling.

WI+IL+IN+NV+(one more).

3 weeks out, and this is looking good.

I've mentioned this before, but the right's hashtag game is pretty embarrassing. Nothing says "this shit is super mundane" like a tired hashtag that's gone through 10 iterations.

The end result when they're at #PodestaEmails34 is just people being like "woah, they really used that hashtag 34 times?"
Was reading reddit yesterday about the wikileaks stuff, and someone mentioned the extreme amount of botting that goes on in r/the_donald that 1/3rd of the users are bots who just upvote. Pretty sure same thing goes on in twitter and online polls.

This is their first presidential poll of 2016, so hard to tell. They did a poll in late October 2012 which got the race right, so.

Also, the poll was conducted by Wendy Scattergood, who I believe was a minor character in Hillary Platter and the Half-Blood President.

That would explain the logic behind the hashtag. #PodestaEmails++

I just took off work for the 8th and the 9th. Gonna stay up all night and watch the results roll in. I can't wait to watch Van Jones and Kayleigh cry on election night for entirely different reasons.

Since we've been hearing that there was "much worse" oppo on Trump, I've been expecting something to drop right before the the third debate. Which should be...today?

If there's more oppo then they aren't going to risk having its effect dampened by a good Trump debate performance. They will wait until after the debate to release it, 100%.

Actually I think it was in "The Server of Secret Emails"

Yeah. I assumed if they have two things, it'd be one today or tomorrow, then one the week before Election Day. Even without the rumors spread about devastating tapes and tax returns, I would have at least assumed the campaign would have dropped a bunch more run-of-the-mill type oppo focusing on people who'd been ripped off by Trump University and the Trump institute and whatnot by now.

I'm definitely trying to take off work on the 9th. Because I plan on eating and drinking myself into a stupor hopefully out of happiness lol

three ways are a kink?

oop.
Well, it's a non-traditional arrangement at least. I will not confirm or deny my participation in them.

<_<

>_>

On topic, we should just do that whole split CA into six states thing. We'll be able to get, what, +8 D senators?

In my case, I think deep down I have a well of cynicism/pessimism that doesn't really go away until it's truly irrelevant in certain situations. I always hope for the best, but along the way I'm expecting the worst things to happen instead. I think part of it is that I don't want to suffer a "drop" from feeling really good about something, and instead find myself trying to avoid getting up their.

So, while rationally speaking I'm sure we're in a really good spot now, I can never shake the idea we're one bad news day from everything reversing itself. I don't think I'm really going to be at peace until the election is over, one way or another.

I agree that if they only have one oppo bomb, they use it the week before Election Day. The thing is, the way rumors have been flying, everyone seems to assume they have more than one bomb to drop, in which case, today or tomorrow morning would be good timing to throw him off during the debate, which is his last chance at making a positive impression

Same. My body is gonna hate me on election night and the next morning, but my heart will be so happy that I won't care.

I'd rather have that hangover than the new-lefts self assurdness that the country wants socialism and massive social transformation

Dems continue to catch up in requested and received IA absentee ballots, but even at this rate, they will still be well behind 2012 by election day.

Reps are also behind in received ballots, but they have caught up to 2012 in requested ballots.

My pessimism comes from the worry that sometime between 2020 and 2028, the GOP will get control of the White House and Congress, and abolish the social safety net. There used to be some "third-rail" internal restraint when it came to that stuff, but that's clearly been burnt away in recent years.

I don't know who you define as 'New Left' but yeah, there are a lot of 20-something voters that have come of age at a time of relative strength in Liberalism. The changing demographics are something the Libs/Socialists/Communists never had from the 60's-90's.

They're pushing boundaries and want an artisinal handmade politics that you've probably never heard of. I think post-POTUS DGAF Obama will make better coalition-builders of the truly motivated Liberals; more-so than the Julian Assange and ANTIFA radicals will

Yes, I also want to preserve what works instead of chasing goals that might make things far worse

Let's be honest...we all know why people want more oppo to drop

This has zero to do with that, and everything to do with people wanting to be vindictive dicks, even if it means destroying any chance of actual progress moving forward in this country. :p

Read the OT thread about that cracked article if you need more proof. :p

I'm not entirely sure the GOP will be able to fix their party in 4 or maybe 8 years time. A new party may be required because the GOP may end up being to tainted by donald trump. What I am saying is that the GOP may end up bieng so weak after thus election that their is a chance they may never recover like what happened to the PC's in Canada after the infamous 1993 election.

The Benjamin Ghazi mother isn't going to faze her anyway. Bill's mistresses didn't either. He seems to think that because he can't even handle Mark Cuban that these stunts are effective.
Benjamin's mom is just the kind I would expect to create an outburst at the debate. I feel sorry for her and her loss, but bringing someone like that with raw emotions is a recipe for disaster.

I don't trust Post-Obama liberals. I think of the new-left as the core/first bernie people, they ones really disappointed that obama didn't send bush to jail or end international intervention or make college free.

The ones who say single payer healthcare is coming in 10 years, or the ones who make asinine comparisons to Europe. The ones who always claim "we're really a progressive nation" but the republicans just trick people! And who actively want so screw over republican voters because they didn't vote right

I really don't think they're electorally smart or realize that they're a small minority.
