State Department going to bat for their former chief I see. Good.

Has anyone heard anything from Rosie O'Donnell on Trump's candidacy?

Honestly, it's probably because his policy people want it to be revenue-neutral and there's no way to do that completely on the backs of the 100k plus.

To be fair to Bernie, there is a massive Beltway bias against liberals when it comes to raising taxes when compared to lowering tax rates. So, thanks to the ghosts of Mondale (and to a lesser extent, Bill Clinton), new social spending without it being revenue neutral has become something Democrat's plan for because they know the game is rigged - it's part of the reason why the ACA is such a Goldbergian contraption.

Which is, of course, correct, but i do quite wish that democrats mounted a better offense against that narrative. Reagan was quite a long fucking time ago, after all.

Since 1972, the party with higher turnout in primaries has gone 4-7 in the general election.

Well this includes elections like '04 and '12 when the incumbent ran unopposed. Even with that, higher turnout means you win 50% of the time.

1988 comes to mind.

The party out of party tends to be rather fired up after 8 years of dealing with a president they dislike. We saw that in 2008, we're seeing it this year.

The social conservative core (Rod Dreher, The Federalist, Focus on the Family, etc.) has moved on to make transgender people the new boogeymen - see the various bathroom laws being pushed in state legislatures.

The only Republican who has, as far as my knowledge goes, veto'd a transgender bathroom bill was Dennis Daugaard a few days ago. Beyond that, I can't think of a single one. And he only did so because he felt there were other important issues at hand. To be fair to him, he did actually meet with trans-individuals before deciding that social conservatives were too obsessed with the issue.

It's not just bathroom bills, they've attacked trans individuals in other manners too. Like Kasich removing transgender protections in employment law. For the record he kept ones for lbg individuals but explictly removed those for trans ones. Or attempts to make it okay for people to bully trans-individuals in school or elsehwere on religious grounds.

Romney explains speech

"I've wanted to be involved in the campaign, if you will, as a bit of a referee. When there were some foul balls, be able to call them and see if I can't keep people guided on the path to becoming our next president. But the time came when Big Don's outrage had reached such a level that I simply had to speak out. You get to the point where you say, your grandkids are going to say to you, 'papa, what did you do to stop Big Don?' I had to finally get out and speak," Romney explained.

Charlotte approved a new ordinance that would allow trans people the choice of using a bathroom that fits their gender. Unfortunately, the state legislature and governor have already said they will overturn Charlotte's law once the lawmakers are back in session. Bastards, the lot of them.

I do like that Trump is labeling his competition. It's like an anime where everyone has a title.

"Psychopath" Ben
"Little" Marco
"Lyin'" Ted

Well this will be interesting. I wonder how both candidates will take to the Fox setting. Is Hillary gonna emphasize her centrist appeal by contrasting herself with Bernie's socialism-thing? Is Bernie gonna play up his appeal to Trump supporters?

The level of constant freak out is really high. Clinton is a big girl. She can hold her own.

And Bernie is more done than tesseract's act. He could read Hilary's indictment and no one would care.
