Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
So they're asking for a new analysis on the old bill and haven't submitted anything new? Stupid if so, just hoping for a rounding error that resulted in an order of magnitude change in the numbers is delusional.

I think the new analysis has Ted Cruz's amendment.

He's reinforcing his base's dedication, but not growing it. And like I always say when he'll want to quit he'll get himself kicked out to carry on that fight.

Imagine if he had lost the election, his whole "the election is rigged" thing was a prequel to what would have followed. Hillary could have only gotten less popular over time, and he would have been attacking her non-stop with a lot more support than he had when he was attacking Obama. He'd invited on FOX all the time, and probably then run and win in 2020. We would have had a repeat of 2016 but with Hillary even more weakened.

Trump is acting so presidential that Van Jones must be creaming in his suits.

I know everyone likes to pick on him because he the easiest soundbyte to make fun of, but damn near everyone was praising trump that night, it was as infuriating as it was terrifying.

All it takes is for him to stop tweeting, read from a teleprompter, and refrain from shitting on the walls and the media is all over his dick.

The scary thing is how bad someone actually competent could be.

Or when he launches a couple of missiles into Syria. Lord knows what happens when he launches full scale war on Iran or some shit.

He seems to be aiming for North Korea. Not sure how that would go though since he has business interests in China.

If they think that a news issue is important, they should just report on it as such. The use of "while you looked at X, they did Y" or "GOP quietly does Z" honestly is tiring. Apologies to the hypothetical ADD reader whom they seem to be addressing.

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions

I'd disagree with this part, but without having the house and senate, that's likely exactly what would have happened.

I can't believe they already asked for another CBO analysis. I can't believe they're still pushing forward with this.

Can you?

They'll push through this garbage bill.

Crush healthcare in the US as we know it, blaming Obama in the process saying he started the mess and that he is the reason why the Republicans had to do what they did.

Once that is done, they impeach Trump, put Pence in his place and ride into the future of their Handmaidens tale utopia.

What I really don't have a good view of is how the tweets are affecting people who voted for Trump. Not the deplorables, who clearly eat this up, but the anti-Hillary voters. I don't know if approval rating is all we've got to judge this by.

I thought posts like this went extinct once it became clear the bill was on death's door

People will not buy this.

This is semantics, and nothing more
I think Twitter banning him is a big gamble on their part. They have serious business issues and can use the attention clicks he gets, but such an act would probably go a long way to stopping the brain drain they are experiencing.

It also risks establishing gab.ai as a serious competitor. If Trump moves his account there, probably millions of his followers--supporters and opponents--would create an account. And suddenly all those media stories about Trump's tweets would be about Trump's gabs, leading to even greater exposure for Gab.

The dude admitted to sexual assault, mocked a disabled reporter, insulted a gold star family, mocked McCain for being a POW, advocated violence at a rally and they voted for him, you think calling some media people mean names is gonna change their minds?

I've honestly forgotten what night it was suppose to be that he became president.

This is the most engagement I've seen on a Trump tweet in a while. Its almost as many Likes as some of Obama's less popular tweets get
This is the interesting thing about Trump's tweets. For all the media he gets, on Twitter itself he's far far less popular than Obama
The most banal Obama tweet -- happy Mother's Day! -- gets 10x more engagement than a popular Trump tweet
Point being: his tweets aren't really going around mass media, as he insists. They mainly get attention through mass media.

Agreed, and it's why I find the Manjoo thread interesting. The tweets are a big deal because the media reports them, not because Easy D actually has a following.

Not necessarily. How much does Trump cross-post his tweets on Facebook?

I also -- also -- do not think this is like, purposeful distraction. I do not think Trump cares about healthcare beyond getting a W. He is much more concerned with "winning" his fight with the media.

Trump is a senile, demented racist and misogynist. Of course that's relevant news. His tweets are damning - cover them.

Of course he doesn't care about health care. All he wants are "wins." He doesn't give a damn how many people suffer.

The Distraction theory got debunked in my eyes when it became clear that every "intentional" distraction was just as bad for optics if not worse than whatever is supposedly being distracted from.

"Let's get the heat off of this Healthcare bill by making everyone think I abused my power to blackmail news anchors into giving me fluff pieces!"

His approval has only been dropping over time. If this is an intended strategy it's working very poorly.

SNL has to make a sketch where a kid dressed like Trump is running around the white house tweeting as all his staff is in complete panic mode trying to catch him, some with plush toys, some pissed off, the cook getting cookies and spilling milk all over himself when an hand reaches out of nowhere and grabs a handfull, and then at the end when they finally got him cornered they tell him he won't have anymore chocolate cake if he tweets. He yells that the chocolate cake at the White House isn't even good, the best chocolate cake is only found at Mar-a-Lago! And smack, he punches the tweet button.

Spicer asks Conway who is looking at her phone "What did he tweet?? WHAT DID HE TWEET?!"

...

"It's a porn video, where the actress' face has been replaced by Angela Merkel's." as you hear porn sounds.

No surprise there. The CNN tweet is ridiculous and funny as hell, so tens of thousands of people who hate Trump liked and retweeted.

The point even his most popular tweet doesn't come close to Obama's most banal ones.

It is alarming that the media talking heads are so desperate to accept Trump as a sane, level-headed person in the Oval Office and will take any opportunity possible to jump to that conclusion. But while everyone may have been praising Trump that night, I don't think anyone made a bigger ass out of themselves over it than Van Jones did.

Likewise with the Syria strike, where the most egregious asshole was Brian Williams, who could barely hide his erection over the beautiful missiles we rained down on Syria.

Kaylee is the worst. She is on CNN right now and driving me crazy talking about how she thinks its not advisable but she is fine with it.

Do reconciliation rules even exist anymore? The parliamentarian has basically let anything go.

Didn't the parliamentarian warn Republicans about trying to tie tax credits to abortions or something like that?

Do the other aspects of this bill violate reconciliation? I'm a little unclear on the exact rules.
