It is rather disconcerting that the media doesn't even mention Sebelius ever, but I still think she's definitely on Obama's real shortlist, not this fake-ass list the media touts.

Obama/Sebelius ticket turns the TV morons into saying, "OOOOOOH, BUT WHY NOT HILLARY?! WHAT WILL HER VOTERS THIIIINK!?"
For a little while. Just like the "hillary for veep" died down a few weeks after the primary. It goes in waves.

Obama/Kaine?
Obama/Clark?
Obama/Biden?
Obama/Bayh?

No...

Obama/Sebelius

Two funny names, one black man, one white women. One young, one old. One with a fresh new perspective, one with loads of experience and a good head on their shoulders.

You don't any "changier" than that.

Every potential VP pick will have endless bickering one way or another.

Sebelius?! Why not HRC?!

Biden?! But he has hair plugs and voted for the war!

Bayh?! He voted for the war too!

Kaine!? Too inexperienced!

Clinton?! *Abrams' Head Explodes*

Richardson!? But he's brown!

Clark!? He thinks John McCain faked his POW status!

This is most likely why Obama is waiting until the last possible minute. Ut won't matter, there will be blowback by EVERYONE at SOME POINT.

What a weird opening question. "How will you change the word retardation?"
Obama nailed the opening by complimenting the mother on being a good mother.

She's clearly very emotional about everything, and she's already got her guard down because Obama complimented her directly.

Awesome stuff.

Edit: Obama knows his shit...serifs and shit...goddam

thank god it's not Biden.

i say he'll go Bloomberg and, together, they'll create an effective mass transit policy and super wide bike lanes.

I'd rather lose with Sebelius then win with those other guys... There's no one closer to Obama philosophy than she.

I actually like Obama's new populist tact he's taking in this opening, the way of painting the negative campaigning as feeding on the cynicism of people in the government.

Which is a strategy that worked really well against Hillary when he had time to introduce himself and the kind of campaign he runs. People forget that the only reason why Hillary won so many of those later states is that Obama stopped campaigning against Hillary and she found a consistent message that matched her background and started to connect with voters. It's not because she went scorched earth (measured by Democratic party standards) and I think the Republicans will realize that come October/November when McCain's favorability numbers are in the gutter.

I'm still convinced that it's either Biden or Clark for VP.

Obama will not pick Sebellius, Kaine or Bayh. For the simple reason that the campaign is spending enough money introducing one new person to the national stage. They don't need to spend money or time on introducing two.

I hope it's Romney for VP but I think Ridge or Pawlenty is more likely.

:lol Those bike lanes ARE annoying. But Bloomberg would be a nice moderate/economist kind of balance to the ticket.

Doubt it. Not announcing the VP until Friday guarantees that the Obama campaign will have control over the media message all week. The less publicity for McCain, the better, and the more stupid things McCain has to do to grab attention. This is especially so since McCain has started shitting on his press corps, and they used to drool all over him.

It sounds like Bloomberg oddly enough is going to be a ticket with Ron Paul on Virginia's ballots. I have no idea why.

BULLSHIT, show me proof.

Obama is allowed to pick whatever male candidate he wants, but the only female who is ok for him to pick is HRC who SHITTED on him in the primaries and ran one of the most divisive campaigns EVER? Besides, Sebelius is more qualified than HRC. Ruling her out due to her being female is RIDICULOUSLY sexist. It's way more sexist than anything that happened during the primaries that HRC and company falsely attributed to sexism.

This speech should get a lot of coverage tomorrow.

Also, I was really impressed with what Obama said at the VFW today. To me, it read like a foreign policy version of his awesome race speech earlier this year.

Exactly. That's why she's a risky choice, I don't know why everyone is ignoring this. It'll be seen by many as rubbing it in that hillary lost.

Hmph, sounds like Obama doesn't want a yes woman. He wants a smart man. (he keeps say he)

EDIT: To clarify, the point is that he doesn't want a yes man, and the point people keep making in favor of Sebelius is that she shares most of his opinions. The point isn't that she isn't smart.

The question was "How will you use your VP"

The answer was "He will be used for this. This is what I expect of him. He'd better be able to do blah..."

So many wrong h-words :(
