Who else thinks Palin's speech will be great?! Considering she majored in journalism in college and was a sports announcer. I think she will hit all major talking points and the head with precision.

BTW, doesn't this whole Palin pick run counter to the "If the election is about Obama, he loses, if it's about McCain then Obama wins in a landslide" theory?

conservatives over the past 30 years tend to run on a platform that says government is a problem and it can't be trusted.

conservatives get elected...and run untrustworthy governments filled with problems. Then when reelection comes around, they say "see! government can't be trusted! don't trust those liberals that say government can be a benefit!"

it's actually quite genius. Of course, this doesn't mean liberals are always great at governing or anything, but at least they don't criticize the job that they're actually applying for

I doubt most managers would hire someone who openly hates the very job they're applying for, but somehow that's seen as a benefit in politics.

It's guys like King_Slender, siamesedreamer and CoolTrick being the vocal minority, and they in turn have brought nothing but hostility towards themselves because of the way they act.

VanMardigan doesn't share most of the views of PoliGAF, but he's been treated very fairly and without hostility because he's been keeping his cool when posting his political views.
