all the dirt will simply energize the evangelical base...all Palin has to do is raise her arms in the air and ask Jesus for forgiveness and i can guarantee you that the votes from the fundies will follow.
Her pregnant teen daughter story will stop any hardcore fundies to vote for her though, they might still vote McCain, but Palin will definitely make them regret doing that.

While the pregnant teen daughter doesn't really matter for sane people, it matters a lot to these fundie evangelicals.

The same thing with AIP, it matters a lot to sane people - republican, dem, or independent, but it hardly matters for crazy fundies.

Here's a summary of the day - SO FAR. (Links to each source in the original.)

On the same day that the Republicans were forced to dramatically cut back their convention activities, the Palin Meltdown unfolded with extraordinary speed. It's worth pondering the totality of what happened today, in a mere half day...

* The news that Palin once backed the Bridge to Nowhere went national.

* It emerged that Palin has links to the bizarro Alaska Independence Party, which harbors the goal of seceding from the union that McCain and Palin seek to lead.

* The news broke that as governor, Palin relied on an earmark system she now opposes. Taken along with the Bridge to Nowhere stuff, this threatens to undercut her reformist image, something that was key to her selection as McCain's Veep candidate.

* The news broke that Palin's 17-year-old daughter became pregnant out of wedlock at a time when the conservative base had finally started rallying behind McCain's candidacy.

* Barely moments after McCain advisers put out word that McCain had known of Bristol Palin's pregnancy, the Anchorage Daily News revealed that Palin's own spokesperson hadn't known about it only two days ago.

* A senior McCain adviser at the Republican convention was forced into the rather embarrassing position of arguing that McCain had known about the pregnancy "last week" -- without saying what day last week he knew about it.

* It came out that Republican lawyers are up in Alaska vetting Palin -- now, more than 72 hours after it was announced that she'd been picked.

* Palin lawyered up in relation to the trooper-gate probe in Alaska -- a move that ensures far more serious attention to the story from the major news orgs.

What else will come out today? After all, there are still six hours left until September 2nd...

Cant' wait to see what tomorrow brings.:lol

Look at the agenda that has been pushed over the last eight years, it had Cheney's hands all over it.

George Bush's selection in 1999 gave him strong FP experience the fact that it was used for evil isn't relevent to the fact that his power and his place in history as one of the most powerful VPs is unquestionable.

This AIP thing kinda puts Obama's trip to the exotic and foreign land of Hawaii in a new light.

Lol. I forgot about that whole "exotic Hawaii vacation" thing. When the VP is from the salt of the earth Alaska I suppose. God our media sucks.

All of them, I hope. Also waiting for Sarah/Polar Bear sex tape, Inuit Casino bribery, Big Oil slush fund and JSA "Okay, maybe I didn't do a complete vetting".

Just amazing. That's enough material until the VP debate almost exactly one month from now. October 2nd. And supposedly she's supposed to be unleashed to go speak with the press after the convention? She won't be prepped for serious questioning. Thankfully for her most of the press won't do that.

I dunno about that - can the hungry sharks avoid the temptation of going after a bloodied up and wounded seal?

It's a rethorical question.

Bill Ayers turned himself in in 1980. Do unto others as they do unto you.

If we're going to go that route, there's that little incident McCain was part of in 1989 where the Senate Ethics Committee said he exercised poor judgment.

And you know something? That's still true today.

Jesus, this must be what republicans have been feeling like for the last 8 years or so. Its so refreshing to see the other side trip over themselves over and over again :lol :lol :lol

Yeah, but Keating was national news. Today was the first time most people heard about the '84 DUI.

I know all of this shit happened to Palin today, but the media is too focused on Gustav to give a damn about it, it seems.
