Yeah, they had Bob Barr on and I actually like him if only because he looks like Andrew Ryan.

I hope one of his speeches begins with "Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?"
That and finally Republicans will lose the "smaller government" vote that they never deserved.

You know, John Fund of "Opinion Journal" reported today that she is -- that her campaign had, in effect, told the Obama campaign they had a week to decide whether or not they wanted her to be vice president.

Oh, I don't think it'll take that long to decide.

Seven days? Shit, he didn't even give her seven seconds.

Oh, and I love my peoples, but sometimes we are dumb as fuck. I just saw some poll of black Dems with almost 60 percent wanting her as veep.

Well allot of us still think he's gonna have a hard time winning and are willing to have hillary on the ticket if it helps even a little.

Obama made an unscheduled appearance that Sunday night and called for a show of hands from his finance committee. "Can I see how many people in this room I told that this was going to be easy?" he asked. "If anybody signed up thinking it was going to be easy, then I didn't make myself clear." A win in Iowa, Obama promised, would give him the momentum he needed to win across the map — but his backers wouldn't see much evidence of progress before then. "We're up against the most formidable team in 25 years," he said. "But we've got a plan, and we've got to have faith in it."

It won't be easy, but that doesn't mean having Hillary on the ticket will help. I trust that the Obama campaign will do the appropriate research and make that determination.

I've done the research and it turns out that there has never been an assassination attempt on a black President or nominee

Golf We Can Believe In

After McCain's Tuesday night prebuttal speech trainwreck I was afraid he might keep going with no discernible message and just a lot of imagery and themes stressing age, being part of yesterday and generally being completely out of touch. But boy was I wrong. Here's a screen capture of the front page of McCain's website as of 3:55 PM this afternoon with the four tabs across the top apparently signaling McCain's top four agenda items ...

Gutgina: Oh shi...

Whatever else I may think about McCain, I have to admit he has a great website from a web developer's perspective. It's fairly accessible, there's some nice separation of style from content, standards are being followed left and right, it's like a dream come true for me that a major presidential candidate has such a well-designed website considering that just a few years ago you were lucky if people weren't using nested tables for formatting. Change really is sweeping America!

Colbert was fucking hilarious last night. I should probably start making a point to watching the show every day.
The first segment was incredibly good. Throwing punches at Hillary, "Obama is a muslim", and McCain speech in just 4 minutes. So good.

Best bits of the night:
Last night, the Democrats held their final two primaries, and after the dust settled, one thing was clear - Barack Obama is the presumptive nominee and Hillary Clinton is going all the way to the White House.
For the first time in the history of American politics, John McCain stayed up past 7pm.
- The whole Green Screen thing, pretty much.
- Bob Barr/Babar
- Random ownage of Bob Barr; "Colbert: Now, you’re a big advocate of personal privacy. Is that why you voted for the Patriot Act?"

old? Obama responds to MO tape bullshit:
Sen. Barack Obama on Thursday batted down rumors circulating on the Internet and mentioned on some cable news shows of the existence of a video of his wife using a derogatory term for white people, and criticized a reporter for asking him about the rumor, which has not a shred of evidence to support it.

“We have seen this before. There is dirt and lies that are circulated in e-mails and they pump them out long enough until finally you, a mainstream reporter, asks me about it,” Obama said to the McClatchy reporter during a press conference aboard his campaign plane. “That gives legs to the story. If somebody has evidence that myself or Michelle or anybody has said something inappropriate, let them do it.”

Asked whether he knew it not to be true, Obama said he had answered the question.

“Frankly, my hope is people don’t play this game,” Obama said. “It is a destructive aspect of our politics. Simply because something appears in an e-mail, that should lend it no more credence than if you heard it on the corner. Presumably the job of the press is to not to go around and spread scurrilous rumors like this until there is actually anything, an iota, of substance or evidence that would substantiate it.”

So was it even acceptable to ask the question?

Before Obama could answer, communications director Robert Gibbs interjected: “You just did.”

“That is my point,” Obama said. “I just think people have to think about it before they ask.”

NOTE: Obama's clearly right that this is how stories for which there's no evidence at all make it into the public eye. So I'm not linking or detailing the rumor, since there's just zero credible evidence for it. This is probably a silly old media vestige, of course; Google has no such standards. And Obama's discussion of it is, more broadly, news: As he acknowledged yesterday, beating back whisper campaigns is perhaps the central challenge his campaign faces.

More or less. I've stated several times that I'm behind Obama now that he's the nominee. However cheap, childish and misogynistic cracks don't help endear Clinton fans to the Obama cause. Just saying.

Better than Obama's?? His site has been amazing the entire time. I think it has a great style, tons of content that answered my questions, and even the communities and groups like "GAF for Obama" worked well. I was able to easily find events in my local areas during the primaries.

McCain (and even Hillary's redesign) basically copied everything Obama had. Heck, Obama had Facebook pages, twitter, etc before anybody else.

Obama's web 2.0 stuff is the reason he is a fund raising machine.
