How did he throw the church under the bus? :lol They're probably glad he's left.

They actually had a letter from Trinity read on CNN: Basically, they're sad that he's leaving but they know he's going forward to the Lord's work, and they will keep him in their prayers.

OK, everything is set..

Obama you need to roll out 25-30 super delegates Monday and Tuesday..

ITS TIME TO SLAY THE DRAGON.

They could have (and should have) just allowed cameras without an audience. Like congress coverage on C-Span.
Umm, got news for ya buddy... the House and Senate are open to the public, as are many committee hearings. They're usually devoid of batshit insane protesters, but the people are watching nonetheless.

If anything, it takes away any threats or overblown criticism toward the church. I think its a wise move for Obama.

Whoa, was the convention today? Is that why this thread is so long? Someone update me on current events!
People from Florida sent people on the affirmative action committee letters and oranges (and oranges!), but they still ruled in favor of an inadequate black male. People kept yelling references to a city in Colorado.

She's from New York, I'm pretty damned sure her vote counted...

And I'm pretty sure it's not the Democratic Party throwing old crazy 'feminists' down the tubes... its crazy old 'feminists' that would rather vote for a third Bush term than Obama.

Who's that goof in the background that claps? :lol

Did that woman just say that Obama wouldn't even be running if it wasn't for Hillary being a Woman? Guess we can conveniently forget all the white males they both beat out.

That church was/is under heavy media scrutiny and getting death threats. Rev. Wright on the Bill Moyers interview admitted as much to the latter. I think somebody in this thread said that people from the press were present in the congregation during sermons, and that Rev. Moss would say "Hi Hannity" from time to time.

:lol All right seriously what happened?

She is NOT a second-class citizen! :lol

Holy fuck, last year I had no idea people would become so delusional in their support for their candidates during the primary season. There's so much stupidity to go around.

Howard Dean boasted he could rip the Denver phonebook in half. Harold Ickes called him a pussy so Dean broke his jaw.

Glad to see a fair decision was made, and Florida and Michigan will be included. Definitely helps ease the tension between the Democrats and the states and will make it easier for Obama in those states in November.

srsly, wtf is wrong with these women? Obama's thing is being mature and taking the high ground to appeal to voters (at least in part). flailing about like this in a thick new york accent, yeah that's going to make you, your gender, and the candidate you want to win look really great.

You can act that way on project pink or whatever, but this is a totally different game.

I would love a woman president, but hillary is just not it.

THIS is why Obama discouraged counter protests.

Well, the fair decision was to not seat any, because those were the terms agreed upon.
However, they were morons to make them worth nothing, and should have made their delegates worth 1/2 or 1/3 from the get-go.

Blame Hillary, with an assist from the media for letting people who just listened to the MSM think it was still "close" after Wisconsin. And people wonder why I call her Shrillary!

I wonder if this was the Clinton camp's intent or whether the campaign is in so much disarray they couldn't organize and discipline their people. Considering the expressions of the Clinton supporters on the committee I'm guessing it's the second option.

When is a reuben sammich not a reuben sammich?

Within the pub's confines, Obama was not the only persona non grata. The media, too, occupied a dark place in the crowd's heart. The group at the bar went through a litany of websites that they no longer read -- including the Huffington Post. "I only watch the BBC," said Duhaime. "We are outsourcing the fourth estate."

Shortly after revealing my publication, I was turned away. No worries, my lunch, a Reuben sandwich, had arrived. I pulled up my chair to the table and sat down to eat. Minutes later a chant began around me.

"HuffPost sucks! HuffPost sucks!" and later, "Fox News, fair And balanced! Fox News, fair and balanced!"
I said wow.

Hillary and her supporters would do well to watch a woman like Donna Brazile. Seriously, her performance today- that's a woman looking for justice.

Depending on how much influence Pelosi has...

If the party is smart (and the Democratic Party is rarely smart on procedural matters) enough superdelegates will declare their allegiance to Obama tomorrow to leave him just shy of the magic number, and then the polling on Tuesday can put him over the top. It really needs to end in the ballot box on Tuesday.

Whatever chance Clinton had just ended. I'm not talking about the committee vote, I'm talking about Ickes' rant. This is very damaging political theater and the party leaders know it. I predict Pelosi and Reid will close the fucking door within the week.

I really need to see this Ickes rant, but it pretty much falls in line with what I said. There will be no unity in this party.

That or June 4th come out and put him to the magic number because he is the leader and winner of pledged delegates. He won, and so the Democratic super delegates support him for President. Although your idea would be cleaner.

He only needs like 15 superdelegates, so that should be easy to spread over these next three days.
