Katy B is the best. I fucking love her. After looking for music that I missed last year, I came across On A Mission and gave it a listen. Great stuff.
I also completely agree with your analysis. Katy B's work is new and fresh, while also accessible enough to have commercial success.

Katy B is absolutely fantastic. Definitely needs to work with Magnetic Man again. Perfect Stranger is my forever jam.
Edit: La Roux's album was supposed to release this summer but I don't see that happening at this poitn. It's been 3 years since their self-titled came out. Dammit.

Countdown should've been her first single coming from 4. Followed by End of Time and Schoolin' Life
The "4" singles selection was pretty disappointing IMO. RTW, Party and 1+1 shouldn't be singles. 1+1 is pretty good, but it's no single material.
Hope she's learned for her next album.
