Also, it just feels hypocritical coming from him. Once you've let your entire image be built on being confident, positive and brave in the face of undue hate, it's kind of weird to then throw undue hate at others.
When did lyric videos become so popular? I feel like it's a fairly recent thing.
EDIT: WOW - that WANEGBT lyric video is incredibly elaborate. It looks like it had the budget of most people's video videos...
if you can get someone to buy a song, and then go on YT to stream it to see the lyrics, that helps the song a lot more than just having it available on itunes.

Honestly? The first major-label sanctioned lyric video I can remember is Katy Perry's Teenage Dream. I think the floodgates opened after that one.
