There is one radio that plays Still Alive and actually that helps in an achievement
Ohhhh the
Final Transmission achievement. If anyone is wondering, this is the image that the transmission is hiding hxxp://valvearg.com/wiki/File:RattmanWCCBBS.png. Ah, I thought the actual song played, not the remix. I thought I missed something. Just going through & trying to get the rest of the SP achievements if I can & then I'm taking a break from Portal 2 for a bit. Still a fucking awesome game

I completely missed seeing potato-GlaDOS in the office and managed to portal-jump over the Aperture Science logo to get to the lift.

Then at the start of the next level I was very confused because potatOS just appeared from nowhere :)

The "trick" in that video is what you're meant to do. It didn't occur to me (nor many others, apparently) to simply just fling yourself over to the elevator. You see the office and your Portal-honed instincts kick in and tell you to get up there.

Yeah, I know that now - I replayed the section because
potato-GlaDOS just appearing
like that made no sense :)

Ah, right. Honestly, I didn't even notice the elevator until after the
retrieval of PotatOS

It's best to explore every inch of the game where possible. I managed to find a secret room near the beginning of the game. Who knows if I missed more or not. :3

That bothered me, I flung over to the elevator too, but I had already seen the crow through the window. But after I tried to fling to the lift I thought it might be possible to make it. So I tried and tried until I did. I then just restarted the level and did it right though, Was scared a sequence break might fuck my save. When I saw that crow in the window, I KNEW glados was up there. I had been telling myself that maybe the elevator wouldnt have functioned if I walked into it, but your saying it did. Thats kind of bad design, they should patch and make that break impossible.

Valve must have been counting on players being unable to
place an entry portal at the far side of the falling pad, I certainly wasn't able to fall there and moved on to the right place in short order. A simple playerclip wall placed all around the platform to ensure people will fail the jump would solve it neatly enough, could be toggled off after you pick up PotatOS.

I mean... in the maker of the video's defense, it's much, much easier and simpler to portal up there, replace both portals and then jump off into the one on the ground. I imagine the "trick" is putting both portals up there so you'd walk into one and fall off that wall, and placing both portals while falling, which is totally unnecessary and like I said, I did too, and it was fun, but not worthy of all that hyperbole.

Is it known yet if playing Portal 2 (PS3) offline and then syncing your trophies (when PSN resumes) also unlocks the Steam achievements? Or are you required to be logged onto Steam when you unlock the trophy too? I have postponed my single-player run in fear of missing the Steam achievements, but I'm bored to death and want to continue. Any word on this?

P.S. I'm aware no one has had the opportunity to test this (aside from perhaps the first two Portal 2 days), but I hope someone has asked/read an answer on the Steam boards.

Hmm, not sure if a Steam account will catch up on all the trophies once (if ever) we're able to connect to PSN again.

I say don't worry about it. Play on. I did. The game is too awesome to wait. Besides, even if the trophies won't sync since you were offline, it'll give you reason to replay it on PC when you're done.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!! Shooting a portal at the MOON?? I accidentally read a spoiler a few days ago & I thought, no fucking way. Not even Valve could pull that off. But, I was wrong. Wow, just, wow. 10/10, GOTY, etc. Credits music was awesome as usual. Wheatly "preparing" by watching videos from when GLaDOS was originally killed? Awesome. Really made me think outside of the box. Truly fullfilling boss battle.

I did have one question though, why did it list "Still Alive" if that song never played during Portal 2? What happens to Chell now? I mean, it's some 200+ years after the first Portal. Isn't everyone she knew dead? Nice little throwback with the WCC at the end :D Anyhoo, gonna take a few days off from Portal & then tackle Co-Op at some point. Or, I might try & get some more of those achievements & then take a break. Amazing game Valve. Absolutely fucking amazing. I honestly have a huge fucking grin on my face right now :D
I'll probably has some more notes later but, I'm set for now.
During one of the earliest test chambers when Glados takes over again some garbage is bounced over to u... One of those things is the radio from Portal 1 that played that marachi mix of Still Alive

True enough, if they aren't unlocked it just gives me a reason to replay the SP on PC.

Anyway, a guy posed the same question on the Steam forums, so might be cool to check up on it occasionally:

If I pause the game and hit select for the Steam options and then go to the achievements menu, it will display all the achievements I've unlocked so far. Of course they're not synchronized with Steam, but it says I have 29 out of 50 achievements. I don't know if that helps.

I love the destruction on the source engine. The way the rooms crashed together and the walls cracked and the metal bent looked awesome.

With Merchants involvement and all, I hope we get to see a video sometime of Karl Pilkington going through a little bit of porta 2l. Would be pretty amazing.
I thought that Pilkington would have suited the role of the Wheatley, considering how spherical he is.

I assume it will. If you bring up the steam overlay it lists all your PSN trophies in the achievement tab even before you sync up the accounts.

Near the early-middle of the game GlaDOS says something about
there being two people that Chell might know who were also cryogenically frozen, which I would assume are Gordon and Alex. Episode 3 will be quite interesting.

There was some talk about if Wheatley was actually evil the whole time

When I analyse some things said by Wheatley during the various escapes he does let slip some biases against humans

But I think he was too cowardly and stupid to act out thos thoughts, till he was corrupted but the Glados OS and Itch

no, she was taunting Chell about her parents. That entire string was a lie.

Portal 2 should have had cake jokes, I know they were sick of it and said they didn't want to include them, but it would have been great. There is one I noticed, but that's not enough.

It had one cake joke(as far I as I could tell) and that was the perfect amount for me. It was just subtle enough, too.

Spoiler Alert, don't highlight this unless you have finished the game, seriously:
The thing is, the cake is one meme, but so is the companion cube, and that get's joked about plenty, it doesn't really make sense to me that Glados wouldn't keep joking about cake, she carried everything else over from the first game

Agreed. Cake was the single-most referenced meme in Portal 1 by a large margin, referencing it front and centre again would have made it stale as hell.

I think the endgame boss encounter is bugged for me. Is
Wheatley
supposed to be
throwing bombs at me to break the cement gel flow tube
? Cuz
he's just yelling at me to stand still.
But I am
standing still
. Right in front of
the only thing in the room
. At least I thought so... But
he's not shooting anything at me
.

Yes. PS3 version? There have been a few people with this bug. Try loading an earlier save.

Steam version, actually. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something before reloading a save. That's a pretty lame bug though. Definitely took me out of the "Fuck yea..." finale ramp-up that Valve has gotten so good at implementing.

Didn't we destroy the core that only talked about making a cake in the first game, meaning she doesn't give a crap about cake anymore?

i dont think GladOs ever particularly cared about cake. it was just an incentive for the test subject to complete the tests.

now assume the Party Escort Position!

That's a good point. That would explain lack of cake. Damn, that's good :p

For those that have played it, is the Co-Op more challenging than the SP? I enjoyed the SP but didn't find it as difficult as the first game.

I'd say yes, slightly. You have an extra set of portals to deal with, so the puzzles can be a bit more complicated. It's hilarious watching your partner die, which increases the difficulty also. When you're not busy killing your partner, you do have someone to bounce ideas off, so that counteracts the extra complexity slightly.
