I replayed portal 1 when they updated it and I thought she was crawling away from the facility by herself injured. Always thought she returned back to the labs on her own will. This was before I started the game. Gotta read the comic I guess.

A robot says, "Thank for assuming the party escort submission position" and then you hear the sound of something being dragged as you move backwards. How on earth did you misunderstand/miss that? :p

And it's not like we have any evidence to suggest that Alyx was kidnapped or that Chell was taken from Alyx's/"her" family.

People are connecting dots that aren't there.

Edit: Whoops, forgot a line.

Sure, it's just guessing.

It's not guessing, as it seems those with these Alyx and Chell theories are quite sure of themselves; there doesn't appear to be room for doubt.

I can't shake the feeling these people are going to come into the Episode Three thread after they're done with the game and carry on about how Chell wasn't in the game when the link between her and Alyx was apparently made oh-so-obvious in Portal 2.

I'm dazed and confused now. missed that I guess.

It was in an update to Portal last year... so you could have missed it.

If you only played Portal on the consoles and had no inkling of what was happening on the Steam version you could have easily missed it.

No, I played it. I don't remember the robot audio. I thought she was crawling away on her own.

Just finished co-op. It was absolutely brilliant the whole way through. Easily better than the singleplayer and easily ranks up there with Half-Life 1 and 2. Definitely one of my favorite experiences in years.

Don't you dare think about not playing co-op in it's entirety and don't you dare play it with some random.

I don't know anything about "these theories", I just guessed based on what I saw. I'm not a huge valve fan and I never played the first half life. So yeah, it's just guessing.

Eh, while I liked the gameplay in co-op better, I thought the single-player had much more humor and more varied environments.

I'm on Chapter 6 and not really liking it too much so far. I'd rather have more crazy puzzles and less what's going on now.
You hit a slow point. Its going to pick up in a bit so don't worry.

On the other hand my favorite line in the game is pretty much right at the end
"And then you showed up. You dangerous, mute, lunatic."

Gameplay is king. And if you played with someone cool, co-op was just as funny if not funnier.

Oh, right. I didn't realise you were simply guessing yourself, but instead was under the impression you were somehow validating the other theories.

was excellent. I used
a junked water bottle that was up in the discarded area, but I'm guessing you could have dropped the cube from the beam of light as well? Same effect as moving an object out of the laser's way
.

I do not usually spoiler tag game play strategies but the game is incredibly fun when you figure everything out on your own. Great game.

Who paid you to grab Dr. Pavel?
So I guess I figured out an incorrect way to get to this box I need because there's an invisible wall that won't let me take it off the platform. Probably spent 25 minutes on this puzzle and I thought I had it. Valve says no.

Anyone have tips, kind of late game I guess.
Test 15/19, Chapter 8, the one where Wheatley creates the exit by pulling apart the chamber to the side.
Pic for reference.

Yup you are doing it wrong. There is no reflexes involved or test of skill in this game. You only have to think and figure out the proper solution.

Use the excursion funnel

Edit: I actually attempted the same solution as you. After several failed attempts I figured out the correct one and it was much simpler and easier to do. Its one of the few times where the Portal twitch mindset works against you.

I just finished playing for five and a half hours and backed to the title screen on my PS3 copy and I noticed a blinking cloud icon with a status bar slowly getting higher. Cloud saving on my PS3 for Steam games? Holy shit! Now if someone tells me that I can take that save and continue playing on my PC copy I will love Steam so much more than I currently do.

Having a blast with this game, but my eyes are getting tired so have to stop at chapter 8. Game is great so far!
Potato GLaDOS is awesome.

They weren't able to develop cross-platform saves this time around. Lombardi suggested the feature should be present with their next PS3 game, though. It's possible a patch may come for the PS3 that makes the saves cross-platform compatible, but Valve being Valve I wouldn't hold your breath.

Which of these three banners should I use? (Endgame spoilers)
Use the first one in case anyone randomly stumbles into the thread. You know so that the first thing that hits them in the face isn't a giant spoiler. Even if its kind of spoiled by the achievements.

Edit: Otherwise the 2nd one for me.

I got Portal 1 thanks to the Orange Box. Nice game, but I just can't see HOW some of you can pay $60 for a puzzle game. It....puzzles me. ;)
Portal 2 has more content than many other $60 games.

That said, I got it for $44.99.

Update your troll-o-dex, man. This is a full game, worth every penny of the $60, despite many paying just $40 at launch.

I've played for about two hours now.
I'm at Test Chamber 21/22.

Oh my God, I haven't had this much fun playing a game in awhile. I've actually laughed aloud many times. I got chills during the
revival of Glados.

Loving this game.

I paid $40 and it was worth every penny. It'll be an even better value when Valve releases DLC and modders get their hands on the SDK.

;-;

Shoot, I was kind of hoping to be able to play some more on my PC but I don't want to start over...

Also, I'm stuck in the PS3 version in chapter...
7 where you have to use orange and blue gook at the same time in that room with the like fence under the pipes for each type of gook. Halp?

I think I'm finally stuck. Not sure which chapter I'm on. Anyways
a few tests in with the blue bouncy gel in the old aperture. Kinda hard to explain but Im in a large room with water and I've bounced up as far as I can figure out how to get. I got where I'm at via an angled wall that I splattered the gel onto.
kinda vague but hopefully one of you knows what I mean.

Edit: figured it out. Imagining it much more difficult than it was.

I love the developers' name for GLaDOS when she is a potato. They call her...

PotatOS.

Really, the whole potato sub-theme was excellent. After having participated in the ARG, I cracked up at the science fair projects, and then proceeded to lose my shit at GLaDOS' transformation.

lol figured it out like immediately now. I tried that way before but I guess I was missing the box. Still lame how they wouldn't let my way work.

Nabbed a copy earlier this evening, got home an hour ago, waiting for my roomie to finish what feels like an endless co-op game of CoD Zombies with our other friends....man, do I ever want to crack into this for an hour before bed.

So I'm in Chapter Six and just got to the
1970s Aperture area.
This game is absolutely amazing. I was a fan of Portal, but I didn't think it was the best thing every like so many others. But Portal 2 completely blows the first away in every aspect. The gameplay is more dynamic and creative, the scenery is amazing, the story is engaging, and I think you'd really be hard pressed to find a game that tops Portal 2's presentation. This game has some amazing and unforgettable set pieces, I haven't been stunned by a game's setting in a long time. Valve takes a lot of basic concepts and turns them into something amazing and new. I am stuck though and need some help.

So I'm at the 1970s complex, and I can see the big 70s logo and the building with the waiting room for test subjects. I have no idea what the hell I'm supposed to do here.

Also I tried some Co-Op, it's pretty fun. I hope they support it with new levels in the future.
