Predict the price of the Wii U (what are you willing to pay?)

$299.
Maaaybe $349, depending on the launch line-up and software outlook. If it's not enough, I'll wait for a price drop and have a solid library waiting for me.

I wouldn't pay more than 200, so I probably won't get it. However if next E3 they have a Zelda ready to go (and it looks like that tech demo which was awesome), Mario (SM64 sequel, not that Galaxy shit), Starfox 64 sequel, and some other new stuff then i'd pay 250. The console will likely be 300 at launch though so i'll wait for a price cut if they do have the games I want.

They were extremely creative (2 more so than 1), good games but just not for me. I played and beat them and had some fun but they're nowhere near SM64 for me. I'm tired of the 2D side scroller kind of gameplay, and I know Galaxy is 3D obviously but they still have that same mentality for the games when doing level design. You just keep moving forward jumping over and over and that's fine (and obviously way over simplifying) but I want to explore stuff, find surprises, think a little bit etc. which SM64 had a good amount of but could be much expanded on with new technology.

woah

Based on the Nintendo conference, I'm willing to pay $250. That could definitely change a year from now when they are closer to launch.

I'm betting on a price point of around $299. It will be difficult for them to capture the casual crowd at higher price points and any lower would cannibalize the 3Ds unless their are some significant price drops by then.

I'm not paying one cent over $199. Knowing Nintendo they'll do their best to scam the consumers and price it at $299.

Two forty-nine, ninenty-nine!

3DS will drop to $220 or $200 by the end of this year, and drop again to $180 or $150 by Wii U's launch.

Remember what happened with reactions to the 3ds and the effect it had on pricing?

Wii-u no higher than $250.
Some people were practically asking for a high price for the 3DS. It was really bizarre and stupid.

299 is my guess. At most 349.

I just can't see Nintendo going much higher than that, and they're trying to marry it to and expand upon the original Wii, which owes part of its popularity to its vastly more affordable price point compared to its primary competition. The price is going to have to go up out of necessity because of that controller, but they're going to want to keep it under control. The first couple of years where they will have a technological advantage over Sony and Microsoft in terms of power is when they will have to make their mark, so they need as attractive a launch price point as possible.

The fact that the 3DS was already 249 might drive them up slightly higher, though.

I'm thinking $299 with one controller, as many have said. I'm not willing to pay more than $249 though, and that's only IF there is a Zelda or Metroid (by Retro) game at launch.
