Trump for Miss America 2016

Im rewatching a few segments again, and the part that begins with Trump saying he didn't support the Iraq war is the best fucking thing in the world.

Short, comprehensible version:

Moderator: Mr Trump you supported the war in Iraq
Trump: Wrong
Moderator: The record shows...
Trump: Wrong I never supported the war
Moderator: The record shows you're wrong
Trump: The record shows I'm right. I went on Howart Stern and very lightly said "Maybe I don't know". But I went on Sean Hannity...nobody calls Sean Hannity...I went on Sean Hannity but nobody calls him... I debated on Sean Hannity.... And also, I have ...nobody calls Hannity... ALSO, I have a much better temperament then her.
*auditorium burst out laughing*
Hillary: wooh, okay *shimmy*

Anyone have that "good temparement" segment as a youtube video without the whole debate? Just need the 2-3 mins it last.

Watching the debate right now, Trump was a disaster from minute one.

Holy shit, what a fucking arsehole.
Precisely. Ignore anyone who tells you he did well in the beginning. They have no clue what they're talking about. He came out speaking incoherently, giving answers that truly, TRULY made no sense, and interrupting or shouting over Clinton and Holt. He looked awful throughout the entire thing, and post-debate polling and reporting is overwhelmingly reflecting that.

Um, news anchors were arguing that he came across as very measured and presidential in the first half hour or so lol

So it gets worse

I'm really confused as to where they are getting that from. What about anything he said came off as presidential?

Trump's flaws were highlighted so well by contrast to Hillary's thorough, concise answers. Even my anti-Hillary friends are quoting gems of the evening. The media really likes to paint things as being neck-and-neck, but this was a slaughter.

I just finished.

Man trump got destroyed, she baited him hard and he took the bait. The side by side screens showed Hillary chilling on the right with Donald getting visibly upset on the left.

Destroyed him policy wise - reaganomics did not work

I think they needed to pretend he was good at some point. And you can't use the second half.

He started off ok, then he did his thing. Considering it's a 90 minute debate 15-30 minutes of "ok" followed by a poor performance throughout I'd say he shat the bed..... Hard

I think it just sticks out because how comparatively off the rails he got.

But in truth, he was bad from the get go. He just got worse and it made you nostalgic for those halcyon days where he wasn't raving about cyber and how mean everyone was to him.

Basically he remained calm and quiet through her first question before blowing up, and Trump's behavior is usually so poor that doing that is considered doing extremely well in comparison.

Is he only referring to private conversations with Hannity, or did he do a segment on Fox where he was against the war? I guess I could understand the argument that mumbling "I guess so" on Howard Stern doesn't mean he supported the war if soon afterwards, he argued against it. Did he, though?

It's only going to get worse for Trump in these debates. He can't control himself and Hillary will bring more ether now that she's measured him.

Man, saying that Trump speaks on third grade level is still too much of a compliment. The guy jumps from topic to topic without ever making a real argument. It's crazy to me how that could appeal to anyone

I don't know if there is some sort of culture shock/ cultural divide-thing going on here, but european politics are not like this.

She was well composed and actually ansered the questions she was given, she was pretty great imo.

Trump literally spent a sentence or two rambling some incoherent nonsense as a direct answer to any given question and then went on multiple tangents to:

-accuse Clinton/Obama of being responsible for something
-gloating about his wealth/company/income
-telling his story of everything moving to China/Mexico
-interrupting her
-rinse and repeat

Like, this is has been a truly poor showing so far. I don't see how anyone could call this halfway decent at all. It was truly terrible by any standard.
I'm almost afraid to watch any further.

Yeah I can't think of any EU political debate like this. Things get heated but there's always a core of articulation and (often attempted) reason. Even the UK's Nigel Farage was a pretty articulate guy (90% of the time), regardless of what you think of his politics and actual sentiment. Compared with Trump he's a saint.

I struggled to get his point. He kept on talking and talking and the only thing that sticks is this Hannity guy and temperament. Maybe that's his strategy actually.

I understand, but at this point in the campaign that's what we call Trump "staying on message", as opposed to when he takes the bait and meltdowns later. At least at the beginning he doesn't talk about 400lb hackers or Rosie O'Donnel.

It shows through when he has no comprehension of the topic at hand and he's just wordsalad bullshitting his way through a response.

Read through any of the written transcripts of his answers, like the one on cyber and it's Billy Madison levels of incomprehensible gibberish.

I hope one of the remaining debates is moderated by a grumpy Anderson Cooper--someone who won't let Trump get away with the outbursts or evasive non-sequiturs.

My favorite part of the debate is when Trump's main defense was to CALL SEAN HANNITY.

The same Hannity who Fox News scolded for endorsing Donald Trump in a commercial- the same Hannity who is trying to install a narrative that Hillary is on the verge of death - the same Hannity whose has absolutely zero credibility and is outright destroyed by MSNBC, CNN, AND Comedy Central on a weekly basis.

You want people to be BELIEVE THAT GUY?

I know it's hard to relate to any candidate, but Trump constantly talking about how rich he is and how he's evaded taxes, how can anyone relate to him?

The only reason he thinks his mic was defective is because his team was probably trying to mute his mic after hearing him dug himself into a hole multiple times.

He did no debate prep. He kind of mocked the idea honestly.

All his experiences in previous debates he was on stage with between like 5 and 15 people, which meant he was never too far from someone screaming to get a word in and rescue him from having to expand on anything.

His press and rally appearances are either done by teleprompter or are feverish free association things where he randomly jumps from topic to topic.

Essentially, he was lazy, didn't do his homework (and Clinton did and hit him on this) and went up against someone who has debated 1v1 against orators like Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders on multiple occasions.

The only question now is if he tries to right the ship or goes full sulk and declines to debate again.

Pretty much. The reason why hyper-connected career politicians like Hilary Clinton are supposed to suck is because they are supposed to be in the hands of major lobbying groups. Trump himself IS a lobbying group. It's like, instead of electing a politician bought by corporations, you just elect the corporation itself. If you have a problem with "crooked" hillary, the very same faults apply tenfold to Donald Trump.

And I say this as someone who didn't want Clinton to win the candidacy. I agree she's establishment. But if that matters to you, then there is no way you can vote for donald trump, he's the same way. Except he also comes with a shitload of awful baggage attached as well.
This. Which is why I can't make sense of Hillary Too posts.

I'm half an hour into this debate and already I am absolutely gobsmacked that anyone can support Trump. What a fucking imbecile.

This is Trump we're talking about. He has as much of a chance to right the ship as anyone having the chance to win the lottery.

I feel very threatened by this cyber stuff I keep hearing about. We need to prepare for cyber, it's very dangerous. It might not be possible to regulate cyber but we need to try. If only we had some kind of cyber force.

90s Image was right all along.

Yeah, I think UK politics are sort of infamous for being a bit more unhinged than continental european politics, but Trump is on another level.

I think the closest we've come was when....I think it was the austrian chancellor election, when both candidates insulted each other on live TV.

I don't know how the rest of the european media dealt with it, but the german media wen't nuts, they were furious.

People weren't kidding when they said that all Trump had to do to show a veneer of presidentality is to keep his cock in his pants.

Just watched it.

A rather unsurprising outcome.

Trump was a bit more calm than I expected because she baited him on many ocasions.
He has no policy whatsoever.
His answers weren't extreme for the most part which I guess makes sense.
But he doesn't feel like a career politician.

Hillary was better on policy, but rarely got into specifics, maybe she thought it's not a place for that.
She was collected but didn't feel likable. For me she lacked some more emotional response to some of the bullshit Donald was spewing on things like race.

The worst part was Lester Holt, terrible moderator. He let Trump go over time constantly and didn't push him enough when he evaded questions.
