To be fair she's a Clinton supporter who just believes the average American is too dumb to make an intellectual decision at this point.
Yeah its just another way of saying average americans arent fans of in depth policy discussion. Lots of pundits said before the debate Hillary should avoid getting in the weeds.

Any good half hour-ish summaries of the debate?

So Fox was just saying it was a clear tie, but because Trump was the "challenger" and because he was able to stand up there for 90 minutes (???) he automatically wins.

Fucking. Fox. LITERALLY propaganda. LITERALLY.

Whelp, I was in the "never Hillary" Millennial camp, but no more. This is a national crisis. I'm with her now. (Sorry Gary).

Trump could literally destroy the world. There's no policy or "scandal" on Hillary's side that even comes close to that.

Trump failed to form complete sentences and coherent thoughts.

He would be a national embarrassment speaking at the UN or NATO.

He defended his Rosie O'Donnell comments.

He failed to control himself, all the time. Just constantly interrupting her.

There's no way he has ordinary American's interests at heart when he's spent a lifetime discriminating against minorities and avoiding income taxes.

And the bullshit about "I didn't support the war in Iraq" and "I never said climate change was a hoax" are just un-fucking-believable. Either he's too stupid to remember his own words, or he's too naive to think we'll forgive and forget.

Thank you for being an active American citizen who cares about this country and not a lazy, arrogant piece of shit that many people I know are acting like because they carry the belief that both candidates are the same (without having an ounce of knowledge about anything).

Did Trump say "build a wall" even once? I haven't heard it, is he dropping it as a campaign point?

the Wall has been a red herring for a while now. It hasn't been a major point for his campaign for a few months. People keep making jokes about it because it's stupid but the campaign has moved on to other things.

What do you expect them to say? They can't say Hillary won, at least they have some pride and said it was a tie.

It seems actually pretty bad that they have such low expectations of him. I don't see why that some people think that is mostly a good thing.

A lot of polls out there saying Trump won yet news channels saying he was destroyed......I don't know what to make of this.

A lot of public, online polls. Every scientific poll or focus group of actual people that's been conducted has shown a clear majority thinking Clinton won the debate.

I expected them to say what they did, but that doesn't mean their platant right wing propaganda doesn't bother me. Anything they can to spin things in favor of their candidate.

There is no "winning" or "losing" these debates. Trump can spend 90 minutes cranking out a warm turd at his podium and 50% of voters will swear he won. There is no metric to account for that nor does it relate to concepts of "winning" and "losing"

Polls are useful for showing you how well your campaign is doing, whether you need to change tact, etc.

There was also a really big push on /pol/ for Trump supporters to keep opening incognito browsers and vote 10 or 20 times.
Rigged polls are good for protecting your delicate ego.

Well of course, but technically there aren't any winners as well.

Clinton did better. She "won."

Yes there is. If a majority of people agree one candidate performed better, they won.

You think Trump did an acceptable job in the debate compared to Hillary?

No I'm just saying the winner is decided in Nov. In fact, studies show that general election debates rarely move the needle for people (except for daily polls of course) - there are very few undecideds this time around.

Clinton did better. She "won."

Yes, I know. Just trying to make a larger META DUDE point.

Out of curiosity, why now? All of the above was patently obvious for quite some time now.

We're talking about the debate, not the election. She won the debate. We can play semantics, but that's truly a game without any winners.

Hillary was Mickey Gall

Trump was CM Punk

Why did you have to bring this up? :/

Clinton seems likeable enough. There is nothing to like about Trump. His jokes aren't funny, the way he speaks is annoying, and I'd rather watch paint dry then have to hear him speak for 5 minutes. Last night was pretty unbearable for me.

In case it hasn't been posted, here's a really good transcript of the debate with sources cited and fact checking:

http://www.npr.org/2016/495115346/fact-check-first-presidential-debate

I didn't watch all of the debate because I really can't stand listening to Trump, but reading through the transcripts with all the added fact checking shows a lot.

Also Lester did a piss poor job of actually moderating. How the fuck do you let someone interrupt that much.

Trump's tirade on how his temperament is his best quality was also humorous.

Clinton did fairly well sticking to true statements, but her stance on Prisons and TPP is sure to irk people.

There's a winner for this debate too? Holy shit.

Y'all can stop dickwaving anytime lol.

Glad you woke up, but it's a shame a lot of people won't until it's way past election time. Glad you're starting to see through the tough guy charade though. As for fact checking him, people don't seem to care. I found it funny that my parents, who are staunch republicans, basically called the debate a wash because both parties were lying.

But when you read the transcripts, one side was lying nearly all the time, while the other had a couple of lies that could be interpreted as policy misunderstandings, rather than flat out "I never said that (they did)" lies.

I do feel that this election is different since one candidate is so extreme in his views and actions. He said and admitted to some pretty crazy things last night that are ABSOLUTELY NOT NORMAL for a presidential candidate.

Boy, you're really hitting all the reddit talking points.

Merely offering counterpoints (I don't actually visit reddit, strangely enough).

I think it's exceedingly important to understand how people view both sides. There's no way Hillary supporters are going to sway the moderate republican swing voters if they don't understand what's behind their (possible) support of Trump. NeoGAF has a pretty strong YASqueen force, but we're not the only people on the internet... its worth understanding how the other side thinks.

Glad to see this. All of that is trumps schtick. He rambles and changes topic mid sentence all the time. He lies and forgets what he says all the damn time. The only way I can see someone ignoring this is if you are simply amused by it. Because in a way it is kind of funny. It definitely would be amusing to see him interrupting other world leaders and acting like a jack ass in all national appearances. It would be like a kardasian reality show and is appearances would get bigger crowds because you literally have no idea what he's gonna say or lie about

Him being in the White House though. Not that funny

Oh I agree. Look, I'm not saying Trump won for god's sake.

Err what? This election has the most undecideds at this point in the race of pretty much every election since they've started polling.

Where did you get the notion there are very few undecideds? No polling shows that at all.

Yeah Trump just walked right over him which really pissed me off, but Lester needed to shut him down when Trump just basically told him to shut up so he could keep ranting. He kind of lost control at some point.
