No idea if it's been posted, but theres a good WaPo article about what newssites, coservative and liberal, as well as many republican politicians and activists thought of Trump.

It was nearly universally negative.

Daily 202: Why Even Republicans Think Clinton Won the First Debate

I'm not going to post excerps, because there's so much, but I highly recommend it if you want to see the full reaction to the debate.

I hope he keeps doing what he's doing lol

If I had no idea who Trump was or what he's doing, when looking at this picture, I would assume it's like a joke account for a senile person they put in funny situations.

Like that face, it's smiling, but not really. It's empty.

Coworker thinks Trump screwing people out of money etc is OK because they knew what they were getting into. And if they didn't it's still their fault for not knowing better.

She was basically in my eyes using the "it's her fault for dressing that way" argument.

I asked but shouldn't a president have integrity and empathy? Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Answer was: "No."
Geese. So if the nation got fucked over by him it would be okay because it was the fault of dumb asses like her? Maybe think of a nicer way to say that and ask her.

My favorite part of the debate was when Clinton got Trump to admit he didn't pay any federal income tax.

My wife said.

"Did he just say he doesn't pay Texas?"

"Yup, that's what he said."

This dude keeps burying himself but he's still the shinning light for crazies.

So, who is getting out stronger after the debate?

After the polls of undecideds and how hard the media is going after Trump for such a shit performance, it's pretty likely Clinton will get a nice boost. But the campaign and media has to continue to go after him on a lot of the stuff he said.

So how badly will Trump's performance affect his poll numbers in swing states?

Hillary was fantastic, so I'm expecting her to get a bump.
A point or two. There's a lot of exaggeration on both sides of how he did and she did even though it's clear she won the debate handily.

I have no reason to believe that he will ever perform particularly well in a bipartisan debate format.

"These are people who are bad people."

He is as articulate as Patrick Star.

I almost forgot about that part.

HOLT: Your two -- your two minutes expired, but I do want to follow up. Stop-and-frisk was ruled unconstitutional in New York, because it largely singled out black and Hispanic young men.

TRUMP: No, you're wrong. It went before a judge, who was a very against-police judge. It was taken away from her. And our mayor, our new mayor, refused to go forward with the case. They would have won an appeal. If you look at it, throughout the country, there are many places where it's allowed.

HOLT: The argument is that it's a form of racial profiling.

TRUMP: No, the argument is that we have to take the guns away from these people that have them and they are bad people that shouldn't have them.

"It's not racial profiling; it's just targeting bad people!"

He points out some good items:

I'm not saying that she shouldn't have notes, but watch the debate again and take just a sip of beer every time she looks down at her notes. You'll be blind drunk in 30 minutes.

Clinton should have addressed the camera and crowd more, something Trump certainly did (although it was nonsensical Trump speak the whole time), which is definitely a factor to why several people see him winning last night's debate.

That's what people usually do in debates. Especially presidential debates. They take notes so they can address the points made by their opponents. That's how it works..... normally

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say he said some crazy fucking shit last night that was borderline criminal.

Saying he "didn't do that well" is greatly understating it.

But I agree, the swing won't be as large as some of hope it will be. Probably somewhat minor.

Not only the taxes, but pointing out by not paying he's not helping society, schools, veterans, etc. Then for him to say "that makes me smart", it was a constant "Please proceed, Governor" debate.

I'm calling it now, he won't debate again, unless his demands are met.

So trump admitted and was proud that he doesn't pay taxes, benefited from middle class Americans loosing there homes and stiffing hard working contractors.

How is this going to play out

The same as it's been this whole time. His supporters don't give a shit, the media loves the headlines. Nothing will change.

Nah. He was drinking water like little macro. She didn't. She could outlast him in a heartbeat. Fox is just being Fox. Pander to the alt right base. He got slaughtered end of story.

I think you are assessing the meaning of the debate through overly partizan filters. I have no doubt Hillary was the objective winner on the night. But that's not what matters. I hope that swing voters will have been impressed by how authoritative she was and how in control of herself and the facts. I fear that these things are irellevent to why he's still in the race at all.

Like I said it won't be until proper polling with field work done today onwards are reported that the real effects on shifting attitudes will become clear.

The #1 trend on Twitter right now is #TrumpWon - thank you!

This guy, lol. Its to bad though most of it is making fun of Trump and his lousy performance.

I'm surprised that comment didn't get made into a bigger story today, he's so close in being baited into releasing his taxes.

I almost forgot about that part.

I was kinda shocked to see Trump more left on gun control than Clinton.

If he wants to delude himself and his followers into thinking he's winning, feel free. Hopefully we'll get another Karl Rove breakdown.

how does Trump not paying any taxes even make sense? Is there some loophole or was he essentially admitting to fraud?

loopholes, good accountants...and some years the business not being so good so he actually didn't have much to pay taxes on

there's a reason he is always on an audit

You can't exaggerate enough after seeing a candidate get on stage and tell the world he's going let cops do whatever they please to you because the ghettos are the worst it's ever been....ever. And then to say his plan is to give the rich even more money so they sprinkle a little more dollars our way.

Cause you know...we need an overseer to make sure we don't get too uppity.

After speaking with my friends and family who support Trump (thankfully not that many) - they know exactly how awful he is and they don't care.

It boils down to:

A) Fuck it all

B) Anything but Hillary

I can vouch for this from the Trump Supporters I've talked to. The basic gist of their support is that they hate Trump, but hate Clinton even more, and believe themselves to be voting for the lesser of two evils. That's the basic gist of this election... Clinton supporters utterly hate Trump with a passion, and Trump supporters utterly hate Clinton with a passion.

This was one of my highlights of last night.

I knew he said his name a lot, but that's 8 times in about 30 seconds.
Yup. "Ask Sean Hannity" is hilarious. As if the guy, that spends every day criticizing republicans for not doing everything to get trump elected, is not going to be in on it and corroborate his story. I love all the headlines of "Hannity confirms Trump didn't support the war".

This is the equivalent of Guiliani at the RNC saying that Trump secretly donated a buncha money after 9/11 and didn't wanna tell anyone, but he couldn't hold it in any longer.

My personal highlight was him spewing the bs about audits preventing him from releasing his returns, then Lester saying that the IRS said he could, then Trump immediately repeating the same thing saying he can't but maybe he can get in a little trouble if she releases her emails. Like he just spewed the same lie a second time immediately after being called out on it, as if Lester hadn't even opened his mouth.

The people who think voting for a garbage human being is somehow better are wrong.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! When Breitbart has the opponent winning... YIKES!

Also, THANK GOD!

Why is #TrumpWon the number 1 trending topic on Twitter and where are all these polls Trump keeps retweeting where he won coming from? Im legitimately asking because it frightens me ke keeps pulling endless polls where he won and by a landslide. Even in places like CNBC! Is this the case of an orchestrated 8chan brigade or something?

They're all online polls that anyone can vote in, meaning idiots from Reddit and such are voting in mass and using bots and stuff to rig them. Pay no attention to them.

Half of those #TrumpWon Tweets were done ironically, that's why. Trump doesn't realize people are poking fun at him.

And of course his fervid supporters are going to think he won no matter what.

Also this.
