Support NeoGAF

So i recently bought again this game and i´ve been trying without sucess to play it on my samsung r71b HDTV.

The game is PAL. My xbox PAL also and is connected through component cables and with progressive modes enabled ( changed region to NTSC with enighma ).

If i load the game, it shows and plays at 480p 60Hz but the image is completely scratched/broken.

If i try with progressive disabled i dont even get video signal.

Any other game, even if it doesnt support 16:9 shows and plays fine.

I confirmed at hdtvarcade that Gunvalkyrie does support 480p.

I remember that Panzer Dragoon Orta has a simmilar problem that can be saved by pushing some button when loading or going back to the dash and load it again.

Any idea how to solve the problem?

I'm gonna guess that it is all to do with the PAL/NTSC switching.

It could be due to an issue with some copies of ealry XBox games, that had issues displaying content at 480p. I'll have to do some digging on some message baords, but I remember there being problems with a handful of games in progressive for early XBox titles. I know the Panzer Dragoon Orta had this issue, some copies were fine, while others had issues with 480p. I think Gunvalkyrie was also one of these titles. The early years of HDTV were all over the place.

I'm at work and I just happened to be browsing the forum during lunch. I'll see what I can dig up later and try to post back here. But I think yoor copy of Gun Valkyrie may be the issue....we'll see.

The thing is that i remember some months ago using the trick for Panzer Dragoon Orta and being able to play it at 480p but now doesnt seem to work ( and its the same xbox and same settings, dont remember changing anything ).
