That's unfortunate, it wasn't when I posted it, probably got a telling off from SMS!.

Physics looked really good......
Yeah, I don't think they allow material to be posted yet since it's got a ton of bugs and looks kinda ass. I've only tried the build 0002 and I don't think FFB even worked so I don't know how good it really is, but at least some people with actual rallycross experience have said it already feels quite good though definitely needs a ton of work.

Still haven't gotten around trying patch 2.0; my computer was acting up the weekend and I had some more work so I only practiced a bit of drifting in GT6 yesterday, but hopefully I can get some time with pCARS today.

Now out on PS4.

Can anyone confirm if bluetooth keyboards work?

I need to know this as well if anyone has a PS4 and Bluetooth keyboard if they could try and let us know it would be great, I want to go buy one now but need to know 1st.

And here I am, after getting in on the $3 deal!

Nice to see that the timing was just right after a huge patch, looking forward to giving this a shot.

How's the framerate looking? Should I mostly avoid large, rainy events?

Got in on the Amazon deal. How does the T500RS work with this on PS4? I recall reading bad things about the compatibility at launch.

Took those '90s stock cars to Hockenheim ring. 25 cars. Tried to keep it clean, but there was a little rubbing in that first lap. Hard not to bump someone or get bumped. Car is tough to control with the DS4.

Sigh, Oculus Rift performance and integration is still abysmal. GTX 980 can't even come close to max settings and 75fps (1 car, normal conditions). High to medium is required. Hopefully the 980 ti has the juice for Ultra. However, performance does seem to be slightly improved.

Menu integration is very early days. Mouse doesn't track faithfully making menu navigation a chore. Still a long way to go.

Any comments yet re PS4 patch 2.0?
Works as intended?

I ran a few rolling start races last night.

* Improvements to AI navigation to lessen collisions during cramped race starts, improve detection of other cars during cornering, and improve clean overtaking

Yep. Quite a significant improvement.

* Performance optimisation pass done on: Brands Hatch layouts, Cadwell layouts, Oulton Park layouts, Bathurst, Azure circuit, and Zolder. This helps improve the overall smoothness when racing on these tracks with large grids of cars.

Tried Bathurst and you don't get monumental pile ups at the cutting anymore. The AI speed through there and the right hander heading to Reid park is much closer to the player speed.

Tried the Ring and the general AI tweaks have also improved the experienced and speed of the AI, but there are still sections where they lift off unnecessarily like the left hander heading into Pflanzgarten, so they need a track specific overhaul like Bathurst above.

I did however also experience a total FFB loss at the start of two races. Rolling starts - the wheel's self centering spring had weight while under computer control, but when the lights go green the FFB torque dies completely. Had to exit and re-load race to get rid of it. (Thrustmaster T300RS)

Significant improvement on wet weather performance.

AI run more or less the same time differential from me in the dry as they do in the wet, where as before they would annihilate me in the wet.

Rain tyres now don't overheat after 1 lap, ran 12 laps of Silverstone in the G40 in the wet on wet tyres and they didn't overheat.

Can't really comment on anything else.

Edit : and they STILL haven't bloody well fixed the AI increments, jesus christ, surely it's not that hard...........

what changes have made it playable?, to be honest, it was eminently playable prior to 2.0 for me......

It fixed the AI behaviour, which made the carreer playable. Plus, now I can scroll down timming screens!
I mean, seriously, nobody saw this on development?

I don't have time to hot-lap cars, or patience to go multiplayer, so carreer mode and singleplayer are my priorities on racing games.

There is a list (just started) on the PCars forum > http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?34275-Keyboard-compatibility-Share-your-experience

In short though, some do work, some don't.
Nice, I wasn't expecting bluetooth to work as I couldn't remember if it used the same API on the console.

Unfortunately my G25 motors just broke or shorted after barely 6 hrs of use. I think it might be somewhat easily fixed, but I'll have to take a look when I have the time. Haven't even had time to try out the latest patch yet.

My Logitech K400r bluetooth keyboard works like a charm, as does using the DS4 alongside the wheel.

Happy days, Fonzie!

Would have liked even louder tyre scrub sound, but so far patch 2.0 is ace.

So you can map commands like seat adjustments etc to that keyboard?

Random question, but does the game support those old Logitech wheels on PS4? Or are there any plans to add support with the G29 coming?

It's not the game, the ps4 doesn't support them. They lack a security chip that checks in with the hardware. So it's just never happening.

This game is phenomenal. It's getting to the stage it should have been at for launch now, but even in this current form it's still head and shoulders above its peers. There's certainly no better serious racing game on consoles.

Without a shadow of a doubt, but it's still plagued by some stupid little bugs, that although the patch notes say they are fixed, they never get fixed, and that is quite frustrating.

Any tips for the Ford Escort? I've had to dial the AI back to 60 from 90 to keep up - they seem to have way more grip than me.

Can someone recommend good settings for PC using a 360/Xbox One controller? I feel like everything is set right except some kind of low end steering input. It feels like when I move the stick slightly it steers too much. It's not deadzone because it still does it too much when I reach the "live"zone, so it's some kind of sensitivity setting.

Anticipate turns and brake early and downshift with very much care. Toe-heel if you know how to. You should try to exit the corner with full grip and acceleration on slower corners. Don't be afraid to drift a little bit when you push it on fast corners.

It's one of the few cars you actually want some lift off oversteer on, as it tends to understeer like a pig on corner entry.

You need to drive it into the corner, kick the back end out a bit, point it at the apex and fire it out, although it's also a bit wild on the rear end on corner exit, due to the live rear axle and old style tyres so you need to watch your throttle control too.

Once you've got your head around it, it's a lot of fun to drive, but it's really different from most other cars.

It still has a good share of problems and bugs, but the core experience has always been exceptional. I guess people have different opinions, but I don't understand people that focuses sooooo much in the bugs (as annoying as they can be), when the core experience is unmatched in consoles (and even on PC, to an extent).

This game has ugly sides, but it is as brave as it gets.

Thanks for the tips. It feels like this car punishes my mistakes more than some others. My career at the moment has me mixing up the Escort with races in the M1 Procar, which lets you get away with all sorts of bad habits!

I think it catches a few people out, because it's pretty unassuming to look at, and relatively low powered, but it'll bite your arm off if you try and push it too hard.

I've got a few setups I did when I did the Mk1 invitation championship if that helps?, what track/s?

Brand Hatch GP currently - setups would be great. That's the series I'm on now.

I find it punishes me more with terrible corner exit speed than big crashes!

Lol. Ran out of fuel just before the final hairpin at Spa at the end of a long MP race. Had just enough momentum to get on the downslope and roll down the hill and over the finish line. Got passed by all the bastards I'd spent all race carefully overtaking. My fuel strategy was almost perfect, but I didn't factor in a spin at the top of Eau Rouge. The extra fuel it took to reverse and get going again was my downfall.

Had to laugh.

You also need fuel to go back to garage. Unless the game finishes before you do it so. If you run out of fuel while being controlled by the AI on your way back home, you'll be DQ.

Have they changed the cut track penalties?, never remember them being this over zealous.

Did another 3hr at Zolder event last night, and was on the lap few laps, made a mistake at the 2nd chicane and cut it, and I got "cut track, disqualified" (which after such a long race, was a bit annoying).

Admittedly I'd cut the track once or twice before, but I never remember getting DSQ'd for it before...........

That's what I thought, but as soon as I crossed the finish line the AI took control, pulled over and parked on the grass. I still finished last with no DNF or DQ. Weird!

Odd. I've gotten DQ because of that. Maybe it's been changed? Maybe yet another bug? xD
