Heya Vita TV Gaf,
I've just come back from a Holiday in Singapore and managed to snag a Vita TV for the awesome price of $100. Just looking into setting it up now, wondering which region would be best to set it up to.
I'm leaning towards Hong Kong, I've checked the PSN store for it, and seems to have most of the stuff I would want in English there. Plus Play Asia stocks the PSN cards for it.
Just checking before I do, are there any advantages to going with a Japanese account? I'm guessing no, but do any of the games on there (talking more PSP and PS one classics) have English options? Looking at the Hong Kong store most games are offered in both, again I'm assuming no for Japan, but just though it would be worth checking before I did anything.

If you want English games, Hong Kong or Singapore seems like a surer bet.
I am from Singapore so I can attest that just about every English game is available. Not sure about vita TV compatibility of said English games though.
English titles as in language wise on the JPSN is a big nope pretty much. So unless you want to play games in Japanese dont set up a JPSN account. Sounds like you already got what you need with the HK PSN.
Cheers, HK will be the way I go then, one last question, is it worth getting a Dualshock 4 for it or will I be fine enough using the Dualshock 3?
Cool DS3 it will be, I knew that one I bought when I was trying to get my PSPGo to work on the TV would come in handy one dayJust use the DS3.
Also if you do insist on getting a DS4 for it, you might want to check how "if it works" it handles the whole problem with no select and start buttons. I havent bothered to look that up as dont really see the need for using a DS4.
Here's a workaround to get a US PS4 PSN account running on Vita TV through Remote Play: http://www.reddit.com/r/VitaTV/comments/24d9te/fyi_still_no_nonasian_region_psn_support_on/
Bought one of these in HK. I am presuming I cant use a uk psn account still?
Might be a weird question, but I seem to remember hearing there are some discrepancies on the japanese sony vita tv compatible list. Can anyone comment if this is a reliable list?
www.jp.playstation.com/psvitatv/game/psvitalist/
That's a reliable list for the Japanese versions of the games. Support is not universal among all regions' versions.
Great thank! Yes I just wanted to check for japanese version of the vita tv/games.
Child of Eden? Or Child of Light?
Hi you cant use your uk account yet! wait until the uk ps tv gets released or do this
i found out if you sign in with a HK account then link you vita tv to the ps4.
Then once that done logout of your HK account on ps4 and turn off the vita tv, then go in to your uk account on ps4 once signed in, turn on your vita tv and click remote play (still with your uk account on ps4) the vita tv will login to your uk account on ps4 and now you can play ps4 games on ur vita tv (without having to login to ur uk account on vita tv)
this is what I'm doing until uk servers get turned on and the ps tv gets released once this happens I'm going to download the uk firmware and install it to my vita tv
i hope this help a bit.
Sorry to bump an old thread. Bought one for my pal back in the states, will the plug be safe for him to put in a wall/power strip or does he need an adapter for it since its a japanese plug?
Yes, it's 100-240v, so the US 110v in will be fine.
With the western launch weeks away and the new Vita firmware out, someone that owns a JP Vita TV should see if the PSN lock has vanished.
it is
What games are available on the US store?
My question is has anyone played a vita game on the big screen and how awful the upscaling is? I plan on buying FFX for the Vita since I got 1-9 on PSN and need X to complete the collection.
I was hoping the upscaling isn't too bad but based on some youtube video's and eurogamer articles, it upscales twice, once to 544p and then to 720p. That sounds awful.
