That would be the smart way to do it. Seems like now they are just downloading every item as they are needed (over and over again?)
 
Lot of nice changes :)

Anyone think the PS3 Wand could be used well in Home at some point? Some potential there.

Many mini games could use it like darts and what not.

yes there will be. Someone asked the same question and the guys from PS blog said "wait for news ;)" which means yes there will be.

Yes. I've visited like 4 different places in the same amount of time it usually took me to access 1. Impressed.
 
The update has messed up the LocoRoco space, all the unlocks are gone including the purchased furniture for it apparently.

Makes me wonder if they actually test these updates before releasing them.

How is the avatar loading though? Still ghosts for ten minutes?
 
Also, the XMB-style navigator is excellent. It's fast, logical, and you can queue up some space downloads and then go do something else.
 
I really need a USB keyboard. Typing a message while waiting for my turn in bowling takes longer than it does for the other three players to bowl ;_;
 
Randomly encountered a Xenomorph running around Home.

FF13 personal space is available in Europe, haven't checked for items.

It isn't even that good a space anyway, too small but for the price of FREE I wanted it. Goddamn it. :|
 
I think there is a Free PSBlog Tshirt on the PSN store from the mall.

I do love this update. Pretty cool but it seems female avatar faces got messed up badly. Like they look ugly till the texture loads or something. :lol I should post a pic later.

If that... it was near instant for me in a lot of places. People load from ghost to full avatar faster too. Wardrobe loads faster, stores load a LOT faster, and, it might just be me, but it seems Home loads the full image of someone's avatar faster and RETAINS it longer, even if the camera swivels away.

4,99€ :lol At least they could have bundled it with the CE of the game. Well, I have the apartment in my Japanese account.




the new Home client is really great, everything loads so fast now plus the annoying start-up is gone.

I also used the opportunity to check out some of the Home spaces released since my last visit:

Yep. Heavy Rain t-shirt+ A.R.I. glasses+glove. They're tied to the event space where you run around and solve a puzzle. Actually not sure if you can get them anymore though.. the t-shirt was something you got for registering on the HR pre-launch event website thingy, and you needed the t-shirt to get inside the space.

While playing the game/earning trophies you did receive messages informing you about unlocked Home reward, to collect them just visit the PixelJunk space in Home (or just login into any space? PJ was my first space to visit after the update so I wouldn't know)

Edit: Oh nice! We have a list of rewards in the menu pad now. Those earned directly from games.
 
Im glad they made improvements. I havent touched Home since its public launch mostly because of the load times + clunky navigation + FFXI :/
 
The Loco Roco ship is really stuffed. A very nice (public) space, plenty of stuff to see and do as well. Good going Japan.

edit: you can buy ps3 and psp games directly from the Home store there as well. First time I've seen this.
 
Yeah the new navigation and faster loading makes it more fun to wander around and wonder why I'm spending time in Home instead of playing something awesome. Just sayin', that's what I do there...

They have to be online and you have to be either invited or "knock" on the door for them to let you in.

There's a Psn store link in the personal loco roco space as well, all works very well.

It's an emotionicon thingy from the Sodium One publishers, there is a few of those things in the store (not for free) so it's nice having one. It replaces the Sony/free default headphones (that suck, IMO) but can go with the DJ headphones from the Motorstorm space, pretty nice.
 
wow the improvement is quite dramatic


i saw them selling the gold suit at the store for 15 dollars and thought to myself
no way someone would pay 15 bucks for some shit like that

then i found someone running around in just that... frightening
