PS4 China: Units capped at 200k annually - Packaging starting by December

People should be free to discuss things even if they aren't knowledgeable.
It's people that fail reading comprehension + making up claims from nowhere that annoys me.

I don't disagree, but I feel like there should be some amount of due diligence if you want to discuss something and acting like your statement has some measure of foundation , instead of being inquisitive.

Both XB1 and PS4 sales in China are going to be extremely low. I remember those thread about selling tens of millions in the country, just because 1.3 billion people live in there.
While no one is claiming china will be a console heaven, it's equally foolish to label potential sales as extremely low. This is a country where at the peak of last gen 1.7 million consoles were sold through illegal black market alone. That's more than consoles will sell this year in Japan, for comparison.

So PS4 will outsell Xbone lifetime in 24 hours?

Where do you get this stuff from? How can you possibly know that?

Online polls, online concensus, anecdotal evidence, the state of the grey market (which VERY demand driven) all point towards a huge preferrence to the PS4. Never mind the Chinese consumer spending trends and technology consumption trends.

LOL This thread is the true console war thread. We have Sony fans vs. MS fans vs. Nintendo fans all thinking their respective product is going to outsell the next when in reality it's going to come down to who is the cheapest and has the content your average Chinese gamer is going to play.

That's actually quite easiest way to read the Chinese market...it's also the easiest way not to succeed in China.

Is Nintnendo going to release home consoles over there? I know they have iQue handhelds over there already. (iQue website) but I'm not sure how popular they are, or how much content they get?

Quoting myself from the first page:

iQue still exists but Nintendo is thinking of developing a brand new console for emerging markets. Because only that way, according to Iwata, can they succeed in China.

I sure am glad that strategy worked out for them with iQue Player. Back then a certain Mr Iwata also said they need a special console tailored to emerging markets.

You can just say they're cult(chinese PS fans), don't worry they will admit it, or more like, they label themselves as cult
Why i know that?中文是我的第一語言嘛,都看慣他們的做法了

Update: Sony has responded to our request for comment regarding the sale of PlayStation 4 consoles in China. Details are not quite as firm as the filing with the Chinese Pilot Free Trade Zone would seem.

"Though it is true the filling was made and approved, some parts of the document such as the amount of shipment, number of staff, production start timing, were only tentative and do not represent the actual business plan," a Sony Computer Entertainment representative told us via email. "We have yet to announce which system will be available in China, price for the system and the launch date."

200k a year is 25 years to reach 5 million.

I think it's fair to say that even with meh sales of the X1 it'll outsell the PS4.

MS will only have to sell about 17k a month to outsell the PS4 for a year.
