Hardware - excellent
UI - good but needs some additions. Very smooth and quick
Games - I've played Killzone, BF4, Knack, Resogun, and Contrast. They range from decent to good
Controller - about on par with the 360 controller. Seriously, Sony knocked it out of the park
I'm very happy with my purchase so far.

The mic port on my controller is messed up. Quite the bummer.

The controller is better, yes. I don't honestly get some of the absolutely gushing impressions of it that I've seen out there, but it's a marked improvement on the last several Playstation controllers.
When you grip the handles naturally, it places your thumbs in a neutral spot between the two control options, unlike the old dualshocks, which placed them on the d-pad and button centers. This means that using the analog sticks no longer forces you to either reach way over, or hold the controller in an un-natural way. The sticks themselves are also much better than the DS3.
The triggers are still a step back from the 360 controller, but the rest of buttons continue to be better. I'd rate it equal with the 360 controller overall.

I was concerned about the lack of software at launch, but this system is worth it man. So fucking solid in it's functionality, especially with broadcasting twitch streams. And the controller is amazing!!!

Were you streaming? Looks like the system is pretty liberal about saving streams.. But the whole "last 15 minutes" thing seems to literally only be the last 15 minutes of whatever you played. ACIV had 15 minutes saved up but after watching a movie on Netflix I couldn't share what I did in ACIV earlier.

Yeah, it's pretty nuts. Runs really smoothly, too. I almost paid $20 for it, but remembered I had it on Steam already and hadn't played through it yet.
Same here. Seems to be linked with the issue where the "What's New" menu no longer appears.
It doesn't but I kept getting an error code when I tried inputting it on my PS4. Being able to do it with the PS3 means it won't go wasted after all.

Weird, for me twitch is unviewable stream lag way too much while Ustream rarely any hiccups
Been getting an ERROR SU-30696-4.
On wifi connection, internet works fine on my PS3. When I go to test it, Obtain IP Address and Internet Connection succeed but PSN Sign-in fails.
Is it just cause of PSN mess at the moment?

How do you check the battery life on the controller?

Something like this? with a headset with mic that has separate jack? i have a pair of trittons that split off for audio/mic and wondering if i can rig it up this way.
PS button, upper (or bottom, can't remember) right. I think that's the only way so far.

Got the 30 day MU code in but noticed it auto renews so I went directly to my SEN account and unchecked auto renewal. Service is actually nice. If they have a sale I might grab a yr subscription.
Controllers are dying pretty fast thank goodness for standby mode.
Turning the 2nd controller on was weirding me out because you have to sign in or play as a guest. Seems odd to not just be player #2. So I created my kid a sub account which I am sure she will want to change her name in a year like the rest of us.

You need to put the PS3 disc in the PS4 if you use the 10$ upgrade thing.

Is it possible to get a refund on a ps4 game? I stupidly thought I wanted bf4 on ps4 even though I already have it on PC. Id much rather have cod ghosts I think... Its just too hard to see people while sitting on the couch in bf.

I hate how the camera defaults as a mic in party chat modes in online play. There doesnt seem to be a way to turn it off except in the settings of each individual game.
Play the last of us and call it a day.
It has to. Remember there are games that are upgradeable but you need the ps3 disc in the drive.

I tried that since that's how you do it on ps3, but no luck. I did just find out about 30 seconds ago that if you hold it then you can.

Is streaming down or something. I've tried twice to do so and I get the error message, connection to the server has been terminated.
Pretty sure if you have the receipt you can take it back just fine.
