GAME normally do a year for £20-25 a some point, stacked up a few years when they did that last year

PS3/PS4 firmwares are regionless. Check the md5 hash.
Probably got to think outside the box. Stores such as GAME have pre-orders for shipments after launch so any cancellations will go to one of those customers.
What about places such as Asda, Tesco, Argos, Currys/PC World? You could try ocuk, I use them for my PC components but I'm sure they are stocking the PS4 too. www.overclockers.co.uk. Reliable site, but can be a bit pricey.

I think overclockers uk have sold out of there ps4 units allready mate.
When they tried to take the payment my bank kept blocking it as "suspicious activity" presumably because I never used them before and now they were trying to take £350 at 11pm. I tried to call my bank to authorise the payment but by then ShopTo had tried the extra two times to charge and my pre order was cancelled.

Man, the downside of Prime is that Amazon will definitely not ship early.

Amazon.de's "3 for 2" thing is stupid.
I choose BF4 and NFS and Killzone for free.
But I have to pay 70 for BF4, 80 for NFS, normal prices.
And 11 shipment because in germany BF4 and Killzone are rated 18+ and they have to check my id when delivering and that costs extra.
So I'm paying 161 for three games in the "3 for 2" deal.
That'd be 53,6 for each of the three games... doesn't feel like I got one for free...

Polish Sony has informed 1,5 week ago, that all preorders before 03-09 will be availability 29-11. We've preordered since 07-08 if I'm not wrong, so maybe in Germany is the same situation?

Shouldn't matter? You should still be able to recover with 1.51, and then if her is an update the PS4 will just download and install it? I'll have a quick check on Friday morning but I'll have 1.51 sitting there on a USB an stick ready to go.

Same story in NZ. Some local places are saying 28th Feb for both the red and blue DS4's, so if that's not a placeholder date, then might be the same for you guys also?!
