PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

Horizontal/Vertical

Don't ask me why this was ever a thing.

Do you think Target will have PS4 Pro's in stock on day 1 in store? I have a 10 percent off coupon and it would be nice to use that on the purchase

So do you need the vertical stand to have the PS4/PS4 pro stand vertically? As in, will there be any problems when playing if I put the PS4 vertically without the stand (vibration maybe?)

Yeah, the stand is for ventilation/circulation. Your console might crash/overheat without it.

I see.. : horizontal it is then, $25 is quite pricey just for a stand. Sony should've included them for the PS4 Pro.
Agreed.

On a positive note, the Pro looks much better horizontally than vertically anyway.

It's not like the OG where vertical looked better. The Pro stand looks a little silly too, imo. It makes the console float in a way that messes with the angled design.

Curious to know whether games will have settings in their menu or whether 1080p mode or 4k mode will be dependent on output selected in the ps4 settings.

Well, some will have options for sure; the choice between 1080p bells and whistles mode or 1080p60, for instance.

But I think barebones Pro support (1800p upscaled/supersampled) will only take your output settings into account.

I'm starting to get excited about this now that I picked up a KS8000 on a whim. I hope GS or someone offers a decent trade-in offer. I may trade in my 3DSXL as well since I don't ever play it these days.

Ohy my god. That pic makes the pro look even uglier than it normally does.

I really don't see what some of you guys are seeing?, Playstation has never been a box, its always had a little artistic design, for me it reminds me more of the PS2 look than anything else.

I don't think the Pro is straight ugly, but at the same time i don't think it is attractive. It is just kind of there.

PS4 Pro |OT| Spooning leads to 4K'ing!

PS4 Pro |OT| ...It's been 84 years*

PS4 Pro |OT| 3 slabs are better than 2*

PS4 Pro |OT| Triteraflops and VRciraptors

PS4 Pro |OT| 3rd times a charm!

Same here. Waiting on my TV to be shipped/delivered and for the Pro to release. Time needs to hurry up

Ok, so according to that i can just redownload my games and upload any save data i need to the cloud so i dont lose it? That seems fairly simple.

Yes, and if I read it right, I think you can transfer saves/games just by using a Ethernet cable between a PS4 and a PS4 PRO transferring it via P2P i guess.

Q: What if I already own a standard PS4? Is there an easy way to transfer my games, saved data, and Share captured content from a standard PS4 to PS4 Pro?

Yes. You will be able to copy your games, saved data, captured videos and screenshots, system settings, and other content from a standard PS4 to PS4 Pro using a standard Ethernet cable. This process will also work from standard PS4 to standard PS4, PS4 Pro to standard PS4, and PS4 Pro to PS4 Pro provided that both units have system software update 4.00 or higher installed, and the same PSN account is signed into both systems.
Alternatively, you can log-into PSN with your PS4 Pro, access your games and content library, and re-download your previously purchased games and content. Of course, your saved data in online storage will transfer as well.

I just received a new pic of the back of the console from a friend who works in retail, and to emphasize he said "There is no optical, only Zuul." Not sure exactly what that means but here's the pic:

Alright, I decided to keep my PS4 Pro preoder. I have my second PS4 (launch unit used for Netflix in the bedroom) that I can trade in and I also have several games that will be getting good upgrades (BF1 and Skyrim being the most recent).

I might as well enjoy one last holiday in gaming before I get married and am guilted into slowing down my spending.

PS4 Pro |OT| You think that's 4K you're seeing?
Your mind makes it 4K.

You know, I know half of these pixels are rendered with tricks. I know that when I put it on my TV, my eyes are telling my brain that it is clear and detailed. After another year, you know what I will realize?

[Takes a bite of 4K]

Scorpio can't do miracles either.

Everyone ITT has gone dark to endure the remaining 6 Days of Darkness.

When we awake from our slumber, we will finally get our answer to the most pertinent question of them all.....

I just started to like the way it looks, but that picture set me back to square one. It's horrifying. Especially with the XB1S right below it, looking sleek af.

I don't get this. The S is an asymmetrical box and everyone raves about it, the Pro looks like ziggurat and everyone slags it off.

Do you guys think Pro gets any BF deals? I am very interested despite not having a 4K TV yet.

There may be some, but the deals will probably heavily screwed towards the base model.

Considering that it just launched and is considered a premium product I wouldn't get my hopes too high up.
