$700 and digital.
Wow i may have to consider skipping this. Its basically an insult.

I am physical all the way so that stings- then slap the high price for a digital console. Will wait on analysis etc to see if it ends up being worth the jump.

well, it`s a PS5 with more hardware power. The price is surprisingly high, but aside from that I don`t know what people expected from a 9 min format?

Your going to go nuts when you see that PSSR is not on DLSS level…

£700 and no disk drive?

They can fuck off at that price, especially as I mainly physical game anyways with the odd exception. Would make my physical collection redundant.

Actually absurd.

conversion rate in CAD is 950.. not sure if they will charge that here or subsidize a bit but it's not worth it at that price

Pre orders go live 26th September.

I’m on the fence now. Not sure I play enough games to justify that. And I’ve platinumed al first party games I’m interested in. I’ll pre order but if they don’t announce some bangers for next year before release then I’ll prob wait or upgrade my pc

no drive = no deal

I enjoy watching movies on my PS5 and I'm not buying a clunky add-on for a $700 console.

However, I'm curious about the SSD size. If that's a 2TB machine, perhaps the price is less crazy.

I’m not sure what anyone was expecting with the price here. $699 always made sense to me, as there’s no way Sony would release a “Pro” console for $499. That said, I’m… Whelmed? Obviously it’ll be an upgrade from the standard console, but PC has spoiled me to having my cake and eating it too I guess lol. Still, for people who want more out of their PlayStation, this is the system for them.

As expected, like with the old Pro consoles last gen, most the upgrades are in the GPU, so genuine current gen games that run at 30fps now, will likely still run at 30fps on the PS5 Pro, with simply higher fidelity and resolution. Space Marine 2, for example, won’t run any higher in Quality mode, though performance mode may hopefully be more stable for PS players. GTA6, unless it has two different modes, expect it to run at 30fps on the Pro as well.
