I may have made mistakes on title names as I really don't follow PS3 releases all that closely but if any of what I wrote is added to the OP then I'll be happy.
Now to my own opinion on all this.
I am not too crazy about the PS3 offerings. I think they need to give at least one more non niche big release retail game like LBP or something similar. Hustler Kings is kind of meh IMO. I think Echochrome looks interesting for a puzzle game but it looks more suited for a DLC kind of game. Oh well, I'll probably pick up LocoRoco and as I am not interested in zombie themed games I'll probably get Hustle King since I already have Wipeout HD.
I think the PSP games offered are much better than the PS3 games and it probably makes more sense as the PSP is pretty big here. As for the movies, they seem interesting enough. I will probably watch them with my wife. She'd probably be interested in them.
I still can't believe how long its taken for Japanese PSN to come back online. I would have thought it would be the easiest to get back up considering the size of the country and it being the regional HQ of Sony corp.

Thanks for the detailed post. Does anyone know if the version of Wipeout HD you can download from the Japanese post has an option for English menus?

i wouldn't get your hopes up with the JPN/HK/KR situations. Sony just DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK. I've called their Hong Kong CS hotline numerous times in the last 4 weeks and they basically just say 'please check the website for updates', and they also BLAME the Hong Kong government for 'restricting' their ability to restore PSN. Of course theres been no update on the HK situation for over a month (last message on the HK website just updated the situation in the rest of the world.)

The problem is that there not much online culture locally, and very people complain. People are still mostly into single player games.

When psn came back I changed my password. So ps3 account is active again. To claim my psp games I needed my password again, but stupid me I forgot how exactly the new password was spelled because I was so attached to my old one. So i clicked "forgot password" on psp psn.. After 36 hours no email.
Then I did it on ps3, same, no mail.. Its been close to 4 days now and no mail to reset my password has been mailed. Its getting annoying. There is no way to download the games through Ps3 because they are not showing up there otherwise i could transfer them to psp.
Psn website (the part to reset my password) is not working. This is really getting crazy.

I fucking hate the way they did this welcome back claim game process. It gave me an error when I downloaded free ps3 game 2 and now I can't get my second game. I tried redeeming it under account services and nothing. Sent two emails to Sony, nothing.

Ok I realize this may have been answered in the thread already but I am really pissed :
I wanted to download Dead Nation and R&C : I download the first one and I realize I don't have enough space for R&C. I quit the store to delete some games. I re enter the store : can't access the promotion. So I go on Gaf. I do what I am told on the OP. I click on Services. I am happy because I see that I can access the promotion but when I click it says that there is no game and that the promotion expired today (and began today).
So what should I do now ? (and why can't I find R&C on the PSN Store by doing a full search ?)

How is the average user going to think to go into Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List to be taken to the page? I certainly didn't. Sony should put a notice on the store alerting people to that.

As a Canadian with only access to the Canadian PS Store. Is there free movie rentals available for us in the "Welcome Back" package? I got me my free games, but when I go to the Video section of the Store, nothing about free movie rentals...was this US only? Can someone shed a light on this please.

I have bought a PSP game (echochrome) via my PS3 PSN account, but that was ages ago and I have not registered a PSN account via my PSP.

I was also trying to download the Angry Birds minigame to my PSP during the PSN downtime, but it did not work, perhaps I can make customer service cooperative by telling them about how disappointed my children were.
