I special place feels funny when I look at these! :D

No US console release = puke. Comeon, bring it to the GCN! I f-cking bought the other 3 eps on it, I deserve 4!

I take it this is NOT PSU?

What's Blue Burst? I played the hell out of this game on the DC and some on the GC as well... probably literally played the original PSO on the DC for over a year, then my first import game was the japanese version 2 which I actually paid to play for about 6 more months (considering it was less than $5/month it's not like that was a bad deal).

One new level and zero new enemies (those are all texture swaps) does not a new episode make. It's no wonder they aren't bringing it to consoles, the backlash would be huge and would hurt PSU.

Blue Burst was the PC port of Episode I&II, and had a number of changes/additions including server-side saving.

Now Blue Burst is getting Episode IV as well, it's currently being beta tested by a few lucky people in Japan:

The Episode IV site is here:

It's a shame they gave up on the console versions, I hope PSU isn't going to be PC-only as well.

I'd like that to be true, but as with Episode I&II the full-game will probably be a lot more than the beta. The initial production run comes with an Episode IV soundtrack CD for a start, so I expect it will be a fully-fledged episode.

It also has about 150 new items.

oh, thanks for the explanation. I'm afraid now I wouldn't be interested in the game unless they had either the same really low rate they charged on japanese PSO version 2 (not to be confused with episodes 1&2) or even actually no charge (but that seems unlikely). plus, I'm not sure this would feel right on a PC, although all those spots for spells looks godly since I loved playing a Force.

Is there any english in the PSO Blue Burst? I'd love to play but i hate slgogging my way through kanji just to play the friggin game.

I won't play another PSO until players who die drop their weapons and money (like in PSOv1).

*yawn*

After spending so much time on the original game and having lots of fun with it, everything after has been more of the same. v2 did add some neat things, but they could've gone farther with it. They need to restructure the series from the ground up, I think, and include far more areas/worlds. PSO was lots of fun and all, but it was tiring going through the same few areas again and again and again. The area designs themselves were pretty nice, though, and the boss fights were classic. Just needs *more,* but instead, SEGA is dicking around with card games and ports/rehashes with minimal updates.

yeah, that was a great gameplay system.. until player kills came along.. plus it meant that no one would use their good weapons because some jerk would steal them. You still drop them in battle mode. Of course, I dont go into battle mode because some jackass will have a hacked mag. I cant stand being killed by someone 80 levels below me because they cheat.

I really want to get blue burst, but I dont want to start over with my charachter AGAIN. It was hard enough doing it again on the Xbox.

The online components are getting better though.. the inclusion of the "Towards the Future" quest is awesome for leveling up. I do miss the offline quests being online though.

yeah. I liked v2 actually, although I know it really didn't bring anything new. They just had some honestly good community support (banned online cheating for a longass time, although I got bored and quit the game before that) and fun quests that did things differently from the standard game. I would have enjoyed episodes 1&2 more if it wasn't $9 a month (which is just insane) and there had been more support for the online game like a keyboard and stuff (at least with the GC version... I got it and was burned out in a couple weeks so I never got the xbox version).

And the game really, really didn't have as much pick up and play as it could have. Playing alone, you couldn't go through any area fast except for the forest. I loved the challenge mode in v2 though... played that stuff probably 4 or 5 times to get s-rank weapons. I would kill for the core gameplay (weapon combos and relatively simple spell targeting, although refined more) to be fleshed out into a more diverse class system, an open world and quest-based gameplay like the hunter's guild in PS4 as an online game, though. It'd be by far my favorite online RPG as long as things were fresh enough.

I have yet to have as much fun online as I did with PSO v.1 on the Dreamcast. The first release, free play, amazing game, god I miss it. ;-( *sad*

I want Blue Burst and BB Episode IV, though.

Hell, I repurchased I&II in the form of I&II Plus. Why do I have both? Dunno! But I want BB and BB Ep 4!

I'm still playing PSO on Xbox. It's still kind of fun. It's alot of drunk/high people that play it at night. It's better than stand up comedy.

"MMMMM gonna scale me up a dragon tonight"
"Deep fry the sumbitch!"

It's the only reason I still pay $9 a month for it.

It's, probably, because of people like you that this will never happen. Good thing, too.

You know, after playing WoW, the thought of going back to a game like PSO just seems retarded now. It was fun when it was free back on the DC, but this for the PC today just seems so, for lack of a better word, pathetic. If it was free or cheaper then maybe...

When/Where/What is still unknown though. Gorgeous CG trailer though ...

It already owns my soul and I don't even know what it's going to be like!

The only reason i'm not completely excited about PSU is because there's the possiblity that it could recieve an MMORPG battle system. As long as it stays real time like PSO i'll be fine.

A multiplatorm GC/PS2/Xbox release would be nice, with Episode IV added to it. It'd be fairly simple plugging the new content into the GC/Xbox engines and PS2 is just too big a market for Naka to ignore anymore. PSP might be good too, as one of the first online titles.

Hopefully PS Universe is a Xenon/PS3/Revolution game though. Launching a MMORPG on today's consoles would be a real waste for Sonic Team.
