PSO Ep. IV
http://psobb.jp/game/newfact_04.html

! which the formal name determined as "episode 4" although I had introduced as "new episode" until now

Episode 4 is several months after episode 2.
The collisions to RAGUORU of a meteorite are all beginnings.

Alder TAZU will investigate the crater made after the meteorite collision in the request from a governor-general's office.

I introduce the image movie of the new episode change episode 4, and many arms [ some ] newly added this time.

errr, what does this mean?

I would be a happy bjork if this somehow showed up as an Xbox PSO download, since they have pretty much ignored online content for that one...

Looks like Mario is a character this time.

He is taking F.L.U.D.D. and kicking ass this time.

Looks like the name of the game is Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst, according to the video. I thought Blue Burst was the name of PSO Ep 1 & 2 on PC? Or was that video not for Episode 4 at all

Just watched it. I imagine its an expansion of sorts for PSOBB.

confirmed fron PSOW as suspected, its a episode expansion for PSOBB. D: D:

here's the story translation from that mess above:

A meteorite approaches near planet Ragol according to the analysis of pioneer 2

But there is no danger of collision for both Ragol or Pioneer 2

However a strange light appears from Ragol hitting the meteorite, and changes its destination...to Ragol.

The impact causes a huge crater to be left on Ragol's surface.

And even now a strange light is coming from within that crater.

The impact crater on Ragol is now to be investigated to discover what caused the collision, and what that light is...

There is some rumor about a possibly local PSOBB for english tho o_O

OK, Blue Burst originally came as Episode I & II, but of course it needs its own killer content to make it different to previous games. The first deliverable is Episode 4, which is said to be 70% of the size of Episode II. I don't know when it will be downloadable, but it should be this year, I think.

Has anyone been playing this, BTW? Any comments?

EDIT: Jonny, thanks for the info! That sounds really appealing. Hmm...

PS - did you ever get the pic I sent you from TGS?

Perhaps this will build up to Episode V? PSO2 = PSV? = PSOEPV? Or maybe PSOX? :D Sorry, I love speculating about PSU.

Anyways, the music in the trailer makes me crave PSO so much now. Maybe with EPIV they'll actually try to bring this over to America. Good chance of it maybe now. I'd certainly buy BB anyways, far worth it with the loss of offline gameplay. Lowers the risks of duping, and also makes it easier to fix bugs and problems.

I just realised how Fable felt a lot like PSO in the way it is structured, with the gates between areas, respawning months, and locked paths

Been playing for about a month now, just in time for the Edy Cup ;) It's obviously the same game with some tweaks in the graphics (high res, better textures) and some new team features. The ability to join in an overall team chat, is great.
Not too many english players about. The Gameguard, seems to have stopped cheating thus far.

Hhhoo man. Never again would I get lost in Caves. PSO DS would be sex.

I played this damn game so much that all the maps have been permanently burned into the back of my brain. I swear after months of not playing the game I could pick it back up and lead the way.

The last image looks like the concept art they had for the caves in the book of hunters.

Looks like its not a card battle game. I liked Ep III but I liked I & II more so I'm thankful for that. Hopefully this will come out for the GC.

You'd *think* a GC release would be a no braider, given Naka's love for the platform and it's (comparatively) huge PSO community... then again there's Sammy. :/
