I just updated my new PSP Go to firmware 6.35 so I could go online with it an claim my 10 free games but now when I connect to the PSN store it asks me to download firmware 6.37 which has literally just come out!

Is there a way I can access the store without updating? I suspect I will lose homebrew if I update, but I want my free games and also want to buy a few today so I have something to play. Any help? Can I redeem my 10 free games with the Media Go software?

Yes you can redeem your games with the Media Go software. Also you didn't need to go online with your PSP. Registering your PSP with the official Sony Playstation webpage works as well. They send you a code to your email and you can redeem it either on a PS3 or on your computer through Media Go.

Do you perhaps know of a tutorial I can refer to since I feel bad bugging you for step by steps..

Edit - Did some searching and found a mega for dummies guide.. I'll see how far I can get

there's no exe, it's just a zip/rar with the EBOOT.PBP file in it. did you click the link next to the green down arrow?

no idea, unless it only works on the TA-088v3 mobo... which would mean your PSP can use CFW

I have a PSP1004.
Does this 6.35 PRO runs PSN games if I bought them in my PS3 and transfered them to PSP? Like Pac-Man CE, because with my current CFW doesn't run even with patching.

Tried a couple of methods..
Didnt get anything from either.. When I load pspident is says the file is corrupted and kxploit still wont fire up.

So my next question is if I can use CFW do I need a pandora battery or is there a way around that?

So you ran an unknown exe from a Chinese file sharing site. CFW not working is probably going to be the least of your problems.

Thanks for that...
But 2 hrs after the fact, this file has been deleted once I realized this wasn't the right one.
Can't exactly say it was the wisest choice, but all things considering I don't think someone would be linking viruses to a "help me with CFW thread". That would be a dick move

I am so tempted to buy a PSPGo, but my senses got to me and I think I should be OK with a PSP Slim. I'll just save that money for a 3DS or PSP2.

in the UK you can buy a go for the same price as a slim. crazy.

so no issues now with a go? Does the HEN stay persistent or do you still need to 'load' it when you power off? I'm likely to be quite on/off if I buy one so startup time is an issue for me.

I also need to be able to redownload my PSN purchases via mediago, as I have a ton of stuff on there - can I do that without issue? online PSN store from the PSP?

I don't think anyone's posted this yet, but here's a link to an EBOOT signer that works on the PSP itself.

http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1916

I'm not sure how it works as I haven't tried it myself, but people seem to be having success with smaller homebrew. Personally I'd prefer a Windows-based EBOOT signing tool (drag & drop EBOOT, and it does the rest - if anyone knows of one, lemme know), but this is pretty cool.

Does PSP Filer 6.6 work on HBL/Sukkiri? Anyone tried or using it?

and if you haven't got the news, 6.37 is out! Quoting Matheeirulthhhrreh:

To all the people that care about kernel mode on psp, the scepower exploit is fixed in the 6.37 firmware . Avoid the update.

I have a small problem. I started playing FFT: WotL on my PSP-3000 from my UMD and had an 80-hour game save. I later transferred that save by copying it into my computer and then moving it to the PSPgo. When I played FFT on the PSPgo via Prometheus, it didn't recognize any saves.

Anyone know if it's even possible to transfer game saves between a UMD version and a rip of that UMD played on the PSPgo?

UMD vs ISO isn't the problem. Firmwares sometimes can't recognize saved games that were created on units using a different firmware.

Ah I see. I did play originally on a 6.31 PSP-3000 and now I'm on a 6.20 PSPgo. There's no way around this? Some method of patching the game save or something? I'm just desperate to avoid losing my 80 hours of progress.

Pretty sure 90% of PSP corrupted save cases involve FFT.

Certainly it is the biggest casualty I've suffered and the one I see named everywhere.

Damn it just my luck. Thanks for the info.

I wasn't saying that the saves can't be... well... saved!

But I don't know of any savegame fixes that are usable with HEN. I'm sure some will come though. Otherwise you might want to finish FFT on your other PSP.

D'oh time to plop down another 80 hours. Luckily it's one of my favorite games, so I guess it's not all bad.

yeah, you don't need a Pandora battery, all you need is ChickHEN R2 and Hellcat's Recovery Flasher. oh, and the firmware files.

edit: instructions for starting at 5.03 OFW

Set up ChickHEN R2. This enables running homebrew.

Use Hellcat's Recovery Flasher and Sony's 5.00 FW to flash 5.00 M33.

Wait, does that mean that as of right now I can have CFW on my PSP Go and play ripped PSP games off MS the same way I'm doing it now with my PSP-2000?

I'm not sure where to ask this so I thought here would do. As a new PSP Go owner as of yesterday I've downloaded the PSP Go promotion theme wirelessly by signing in with my existing PSN account which I used on my old PSP2000. I previously downloaded the psp go theme on my psp2000 just because it was free, does that hurt my chances of getting the 10 free games on my new Go?

My Go is brand new, bought yesterday. I signed in with my old account that had previously downloaded the promotional theme on my old PSP. I downloaded the theme again on my new Go. Should I expect the 10 free games code?

I have a simple question, is putting CFW on your PSP just as easy as on PS3? Or do you still have to work with a battery?

I'm only interested in putting CFW on my PSP2000 and then installing a SNES emulator. All the rest is not needed.

Also, will you be able to play new games, such as FF Type-0, when they release? Or do I have to revert back to OFW, and is this as simple as on PS3?

I haven't put CFW on either of the machines, but PS3 looks soooo easy when I look at that thread while PSP looks difficult.

Just for homebrews eh? Just download HBL: http://wololo.net/wagic/hbl/

Pick your OFW version, download and read the readme - it also links there an SNES emulator.

if you're on 6.20, it's better that you go with TN-HEN.

Just don't update to the latest OFW version 6.37 at this time.

I haven't played PSP in forever, and I have a friend who wants to put CFW on his 2000. What is the most recent / stable CFW for that? He has it on OFW 3.55 right now. I can make a pandora battery for him if need be, but if its not needed I can just send him the files / links to do himself.

Well, I've got it working! Unfortunately, the battles in Chrono Trigger Crimson Echoes don't go very smooth. Sound has serious lag issues there... I've turned off smoothing in the graphical options, put the clockspeed to 333/166 and lowered sound output to 11kHz. It's better, but still not good enough for me I think. Too bad.

SNES emulation isnt that hot on many platforms. The limitations of SNES9X...

I've been adjusting settings and it's acceptable now. Hooray!

GBA emulation works great btw, only problem is a crashing PSP when trying to adjust the volume.

Now what?!.. lol can I start backing up my psp games and searching for emulators?

You're talking about the Crisis Core PSP? Is it possible to hack it if its at 6.35?

Not sure I haven't played it in awhile and it was at 5.03 last on OFW...
I know the issue with the slim 2000s were whether or not the motherboard could be hacked and for this particular psp you can. As far as the firmware goes that i'm not 100% sure

How's the PS1 emulation these days? Is it as stable as 3.71? I'd love to play Lunar 2, but it's either crash on FMVs or be unable to get past putting the second disc into the machine. I just found it for $5 at Book-Off, too. I need Hiro Leon Magnus on my PSP!!

Hey guys, I'm having a huge problem with my PSP-2000. It's not realted to 6.35 or any of that HEN crap, so I'm giving you a break from all those questions, haha.

So anyway, here's the deal. My PSP had been working just fine up until recently. I played it a lot during winter break and had no problems. Then classes started again and I had no time for it. Yesterday, I tried to add an .iso to my ISO folder and I got some error about there not being enough space. This was very strange considering I have a 16GB memory stick and I'm only using up about 10GB or so. The iso was only like 600MB, so there was definitely enough room for it in there (no, I don't have pictures, videos, or anything like that. Trust me, there was more than enough room for the .iso) I tried using my friend's PC (I have a Mac) and I got the same error. So I copied all my files over to my Mac, formatted the memory stick on the PSP, and moved my stuff back. I didn't have any problems loading my stuff on there, but when I went to Games on the XMB, it says there are no games! It also doesn't see my save files :( I'm freaking out right now because I don't wanna lose my stuff. I checked the system info and it says I'm still on Prome-4, so I really dunno...

Quick question, if anyone can help -- just got my PSP Go in the mail (this thing feels SO MUCH BETTER than my PSP-2000), and I'm looking at the steps for installing HBL/HEN... I decided to go to 6.20, and stay there for a while... but I can't figure out if I should get 6.20 TN-A or 6.20 TN-B. Do I need A to go to B? Is B a much improved version?

For some reason, the sites that have information about these things are insanely difficult to read and information is not presented very well at all. Any help distinguishing between 6.20 TN-A and 6.20 TN-B would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When you formatted the memory stick you sure it's fat32 (or DOS in Disk Utility on the Mac)? I hope you have everything backed up... try formatting the memory stick via the PSP instead.

@Chemo
Just get the TN-B, that's the newer one.

I tried formatting the ms on the PSP and when I plugged it in, I could still see all the files. If I tried to access them, it would say I didn't have permission... So strange. I'm gonna try to format it with Disk Utility again.
