So I'm still in OFW 5.50 with HEN and CFW Enabler, Is it the best option to upgrade or are there still problems with Homebrew compatibility in newer versions?

So I have, much to my surprise, a PSP 3000 with firmware 6.35, I thought it was the current version. So in terms of homebrew is there anything I can do with it? SCUMM VM and such.
Yes!

Start here: http://wololo.net/wagic/2011/01/19/6-35-hen-pro-signed-run-the-hen-directly-from-the-xmb/

Installing and running 6.35 HEN will activate the exploit through the signed application (without having to go through the bother of exploiting saves, for example).

From there your XMB will have kernel access until you switch your PSP off again (at which point you'll have to restart the process), meaning you can run unsigned homebrew, including ScummVM.

However, more and more homebrew apps are being signed, so you won't even need HEN for them soon. The big advantage of having HEN is that you can run Pometheus ISO Loader, which will let you run your UMD backups. More useful if you have a PSP Go (and another PSP to rip your UMDs from, of course), but if you like the idea of keeping your games on a memory stick and just taking your 3000 out with you, it might be worth checking out.

Sweeeeeeettttttt! Now I can play Peace Walker without needing the UMD! So what steps do I take to ensure I dont lose my PSN access? I mean I can never go online right? Granted that never stopped all my intital PW games (I got it ahead of street date) were pirates. So if they have no issues... I just want to know if I can still use newly purchased media files or ones I already own via the PSN or MediaGo. Man am I happy I never used the PSP recently (and thus would have updated). Oh how idiot proof is the installation?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions!

I'm thinking of buying a Go to have on the train but I'm afraid of getting a 6.36 version, what is the most common if you buy a new one today?

Hey guys!

So i bought my psp go, and it's a 5.70 version.

2 questions :

_What should i do in term of homebrew, for emulators ? Change to something else or not ?

_I have a problem with ps1 games. I bought some with a us account and other with a euro account. For now, i have to switch the account on ps3 to be able to play one or the other on psp go. I don't know if i can change that on psp cause i can't even log to the ps store (would need a firmware update!)...

So the two questions are kinda linked to the firmware problem. What should i do..

There's no 6.36 version on Go. 6.36 is only available on MHP3rd UMD.

Does anyone know of any easy ways of getting plugins to work on a psp?..

I've got mine down to CFW 5.00 m33-6 but i cant get prometheus running on it or anything else for that matter..

After installing the signed version of 6.35 HENPRO, so glad that I don't have to run the demo anymore to load up Prometheus.

KH: BBS runs like a dream and the layout of the Go makes playing the game less painful - as now I can play until I kill my battery instead of only playing in spurts on my 3000.

Almost tempted to get another Go so that I can have my JP account on it to play Dissidia 012 (only my 3000 has OFW & JP account while my Go has my NA account).

The scene is so alive!! Feels like the glory days... almost.

It'll only be the glory days when I can have PSP/PSX gameshark support (AKA: CWCheat) on firmwares above 5.50 without hassle/"temporary CFW."

Forgot to do it last week, but now installing KH: BBSFM onto my Go.

So hyped for this at the moment... :D

With the 6.37 update, does that mean I can't get onto the store anymore (using 6.35/6.35 Pro)? I can't seem to access it right now, but not sure if that's because of an unrelated issue or firmware version.

Edit: Seems fine now, bah!

So I bought ZHP on PSN via the pc the other day and put it on my 6.20 Go. It tells me I need to update to 6.35 when i try to launch it. What's the best way around this? The psp is patapon HEN enabled and I have Prometheus iso loader. I know there is 6.35 PRO but I would prefer to stick with Total Noob for now.

With Ghost of Sparta I have a new interest in my PSP 2000, but I haven followed CFW since 3.5 or something, because my Phat broke and I couldn´t create a Pandora for my replacement Slim.

So, where do I start with a 6.2 OFW PSP2000? I´m interested in having my games on MS again and maybe a GB colour/GBA emu.

The OP isn´t up to date and this thread is a biiit huge. I could get a 5.XX OFW Phatty from my brother, if that helps.

So I haven't updated my Custom Firmware in a long time (didn't get on the GEN boat?).... I got a few of my classic PS1 games converted over that weren't in the PSN store (example: Dragon Valor!!), just curious if i need to update my POPS or if POPS works in later versions... I'm currently at 5.50M-333 or something like that. Any need to update?

edit: wow the guy above me is pretty much in the same boat as me.

If you're on 6.20 you should just get the signed 6.20 HEN.

It's still on 6.35 HENPRO (signed of course).

Haven't updated to 6.37 for my Go so no MHP3 for now.

Do you mind me asking, what do I need to do to run MHP3 on the go. As far as I'm aware, the only custom firmwire goes up to 6.35..

Since MHP3 is 6.36, I believe you need to have 6.37 to be able to run it since at 6.35, it'll ask you to update to 6.36.

I don't think that there's a signed version of 6.37 HEN yet, but I believe that the Prometheus loader still works - though not too sure.

eh? What are trying to do actually?

Wanted to be able to run emulators, back up isos, and new games off psn..
Besides the emulators I want to run my psp like regularly just without having to carry around umds.

If you're on 5.00 m33-6, you can do those naturally, placing your ripped umds (you have to patch these to work, if it requires a higher FW) in the /iso/ folder and homebrew in psp/game/

re: PSN, don't have experience there... i believe you have to use a plugin like PSNlover (sp?).

What's the patching method for this? I'm on GenD3, and I need something to patch Ys Seven.

Are there any signed Snes or Nes emulators yet? dont really feel like using HEN or HBL or any of that newfangled stuff.

There's a signed NES emulator called FCEU. I'm sure you could find it on Wololo's forum.

I hope we got pops loader its weird on 6.35 I could play any PS1 PSN iso game. So if I wanted to play a Euro PS1 game I could guess I'll wait for Pops loader then lol.

Wow, I have to do a better job of keeping up with this stuff. Thanks.

Edit: Will this work for 6.31, or should I upgrade? Are there any benefits of downgrading to 6.20?

I downgraded my PSPgo yesterday that was on 6.31 with no problems.
