Since the keys have been found do I need CFW nowadays or can I just put the stuff on my 1000 OFW PSP and launch it?

Sweeeeeeettttttt! Now I can play Peace Walker without needing the UMD! So what steps do I take to ensure I dont lose my PSN access? I mean I can never go online right? Granted that never stopped all my intital PW games (I got it ahead of street date) were pirates. So if they have no issues... I just want to know if I can still use newly purchased media files or ones I already own via the PSN or MediaGo. Man am I happy I never used the PSP recently (and thus would have updated). Oh how idiot proof is the installation?Omikaru said:Yes!
Start here: http://wololo.net/wagic/2011/01/19/6-35-hen-pro-signed-run-the-hen-directly-from-the-xmb/
Installing and running 6.35 HEN will activate the exploit through the signed application (without having to go through the bother of exploiting saves, for example).
From there your XMB will have kernel access until you switch your PSP off again (at which point you'll have to restart the process), meaning you can run unsigned homebrew, including ScummVM.
However, more and more homebrew apps are being signed, so you won't even need HEN for them soon. The big advantage of having HEN is that you can run Pometheus ISO Loader, which will let you run your UMD backups. More useful if you have a PSP Go (and another PSP to rip your UMDs from, of course), but if you like the idea of keeping your games on a memory stick and just taking your 3000 out with you, it might be worth checking out.

So happy since Total_Noob only seems to be working on the POPS support for 6.20.

If you're on 6.20 you should just get the signed 6.20 HEN.Binabik15 said:With Ghost of Sparta I have a new interest in my PSP 2000, but I haven followed CFW since 3.5 or something, because my Phat broke and I couldn´t create a Pandora for my replacement Slim.
So, where do I start with a 6.2 OFW PSP2000? I´m interested in having my games on MS again and maybe a GB colour/GBA emu.
The OP isn´t up to date and this thread is a biiit huge. I could get a 5.XX OFW Phatty from my brother, if that helps.
Halp.

It's still on 6.35 HENPRO (signed of course).syoaran said:More screens! Mine's arriving at the end of the week ~ Just got my PSPgo, so wondering which firmwire your using/method. Got MHP3 as well to play
Auron_Kale said:It's still on 6.35 HENPRO (signed of course).
Haven't updated to 6.37 for my Go so no MHP3 for now.
Since MHP3 is 6.36, I believe you need to have 6.37 to be able to run it since at 6.35, it'll ask you to update to 6.36.syoaran said:Do you mind me asking, what do I need to do to run MHP3 on the go. As far as I'm aware, the only custom firmwire goes up to 6.35..
nope. keep waiting.xKilltheMx said:Are there any signed Snes or Nes emulators yet? dont really feel like using HEN or HBL or any of that newfangled stuff.

deim0s said:eh? What are trying to do actually?
deim0s said:If you're on 5.00 m33-6, you can do those naturally, placing your ripped umds (you have to patch these to work, if it requires a higher FW) in the /iso/ folder and homebrew in psp/game/

vesp said:So I bought ZHP on PSN via the pc the other day and put it on my 6.20 Go. It tells me I need to update to 6.35 when i try to launch it. What's the best way around this? The psp is patapon HEN enabled and I have Prometheus iso loader. I know there is 6.35 PRO but I would prefer to stick with Total Noob for now.
Blu_LED said:Signed HEN is only out for 6.20 currently? Are they working on a 6.30 one?
Wow, I have to do a better job of keeping up with this stuff. Thanks.I NEED SCISSORS said:Signed 6.35 HEN:

You can also downgrade back to 6.20 now if you want.

Edit: Will this work for 6.31, or should I upgrade? Are there any benefits of downgrading to 6.20?
