Would this memory stick micro work fine on a PSP? No slowdown, slow speeds or transfers?

Where I live, it's actually a cheaper to buy one of those [if you know how to shop around]... I'm thinking of getting a 8GB...

I'm guessing that adapter is the only extra thing needed...

I use EXACTLY the same thing but the 4Gb card version. Works fantastic so far. No slow down of any kind that I can tell.

Thanks a bunch, but do I have to format my memory stick to do this? I don't want to lose all of my data!

Its better to format, plus just copy your data onto your computer or something.

How to use:
1. Turn off PSP and remove AC power supply.
2. Insert Datel TOOL battery.
3. DC V3 should load up giving option to flash to 3.71 M33, flash Sony 3.71FW or backup NAND.

Ugh, step 3 is not working for me, I'm just getting a black screen with the green light on.

Any suggestions?

I think you have to blind install. The slim screen drivers were not in despertar whatever it's called at first. you may have an old version.

Quick question, I just installed the CFW and I'd like to update the cfw, but I've heard there's stability problems, so what firmware should I install? Thanks.

OK so I got it to update to 3.71 M33 but now I don't know how to get to the USB connection to further update it to the latest. When I turn my PSP on it goes to the main menu where the X: Update to 3.71 M33, []: Dump NAND and so on.

What do I do now?

Your battery is still "Pandora"ized or whatever, which is why you're triggering that menu when you boot the PSP on. Once you're on custom firmware, you can default the battery back to its original state. You'll be in the XMB, and the additional CFW updates are simple to install.

Is it possible to turn slim PSP battery into Pandora? I googled a bit, but got mixed results so I came here.

A friend of mine has phat PSP with CFW and we're thinking about doing mine next.

Yes you can Padora(ise) your Slim battery depending on which version of PSP Slim you have. The newer revisions of Slim have blocked the feature to allow you to create your own Pandora Battery. You can still use it fine though to install CFW.

Anyway this is unnecessary as you can use the battery from your friend's Phat PSP on your Slim PSP. It fits correctly, just a little large.

Yeah. The reason I asked about the slim battery was that my friend is somewhat reluctant to pandoraise his battery. He's afraid that something goes wrong or something.

Do we have a idiot-proof-guide(tm) on how to turn the battery into pandora and back? Or a guide of the whole process, pandora + cfw etc?

Read the first post of this thread. It has ALL the answers you require.

Hey guys, found a lovely plugin for 3.90 CFW that lets you listen to your music whilst playing games. I know IR Shell lets you do this, but this is less hassle I suppose and pretty neat.

Here

Alright, so some guy just put CFW on my slimlite psp (3.90m33-3). Cost me only 10 bucks and that's IMO way better then risking a brick.

But now I've got a couple of questions.

Which memorysticks are the ones to get (thinking about 4 or 8gb, depends on the price)?

How much chance is there I'll manage to brick my system, how for do I need to go for that to happen?

I'd recommend SanDisk Memory Sticks. Most people say go for them or Sony, but in my experience SanDisks are faster (I've compared with PSPFiler's UMD ripper, which gives the average write speed) and I haven't run into the reported problems with ISO loading slowdown on SanDisks.

As for bricking, unless you're messing with the flash the chances of doing anything are pretty much nil, and firmware updates are pretty safe. Nothing that most people would do is going to render the PSP irreparable.

Alright, I'm looking for a sandisk now and found this: [Ebay link]. Do you think that's real?

upgrded to the latest custom firmware and my emus don't work now..

You need to install the 1.50 addon for 3.90 M33 (latest FW) again, to get your emus working again.

What emus are you looking to get working on Slim PSP? The majority of them have been ported to work on Slim model at this stage.

can anyone tell/link me on what it would take to upgrade from CFW 3.71 M33 to the latest version? Is it worth it? I am using a DS Phat

edit: looks like this info is in OP so nevermind. But still, is it worth it?

Mainly SNES and GBA/GBC i guess.

Also, I ripped my games and compressed them (to .cso's)using UMDgen 4.0. Patapon doesn't get past the initial loading screen and Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles just stays at a black screen, what am I doing wrong? (I needed to compress Castlevania in order to fit on my 1gb ms. I'm getting a 4gig soon.)

Can anyone help me with this?

What is the word on MAME, is it working these days? Has there been an update to the emulation program for MAME?

I had a big PSP last year... and MAME was barely working...

I would love to play old-school on a PSP... I remember Genesis was flawless, so was Turbo Grafx 16... SNES was slow...

Give your post some time for people to respond.

Dragona & Mejilan are the 2 experts on emulators and quality of them.
I'm guessing Mejilan didn't see his bat-signal yet.

For the love of all that is sacred to you, do not purchase a memory stick from eBay. I kid you not when I say that the majority are knock-offs.

UMDs:
What level of compression? If you're going to compress, I'd drop UMDGen and switch to YACC.
http://yacc.pspgen.com/

Try running the UMDs as regular ISOs. If that works and you still want to compress, try recompressing with YACC. Also consider compressing it at a lower level of compression.

SNES:
http://pspupdates.qj.net/Snes9xTYL-0-4-2-ME-for-PSP-Slim/pg/49/aid/105275
Should work just fine on either PSP model running CFW. Of course, by "fine", I really mean "like shit."

GBA:
http://pspupdates.qj.net/Unofficial-gpSP-kai-svn-rev-3-3-test-1/pg/49/aid/113118
or
http://pspupdates.qj.net/Unofficial...7-bug-fixes-TV-output-tweaks/pg/49/aid/110150
The first is newer, but supposedly not exactly a stable release. I've never used either.

GBC:
http://pspupdates.qj.net/Unofficial-RIN-GB-GBC-1-32-RM-Rewind-and-Mirror-Mods-/pg/49/aid/98722
RIN is still one of the top GB/GBC emulators. Admittedly, I haven't used it years, but this mod is pretty good, or so I hear.

Yay, I got 3.90 M33 going and the 1.5v2 Kernal add on, next thing I need to know is how to rip my UMDs to my memory stick.
Press "Select" when you're in the XMB and change "USB Device" from "Memory Stick" to "UMD Disc". When you connect your PSP to your PC through the USB cable you'll now see the contents of your disc. Copy it to your PC then end your USB connection. Revert "USB Device" to "Memory Stick" from "UMD Disc" and copy the ISO to "driveletterhere:\ISO" on your memory stick. It's really that easy.

I lied about the Kernal 3.90 v2

I keep getting an "Incorrect or Non-existent 150.PBP file at Root."

I'm putting the file into PSP/Game just like it says. What gives? And yeah, I have a Fat PSP.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I figured it out.

Thanks for the emulators! As for theCSO files: Turns out you need to change the loader for certain games. -_-

OK so I ripped CC: FFVII to my PC then back to my memory stick, no compression or anything. Unfortunately its really choppy. How should I compress it/fix this? I'm using a Sandisk 4gb stick.

Mejilan said:
Did you try switching ISO loaders?

Also, when was the last time you reformatted that mem stick?
Uh, ISO loader? I just put it into the ISO file under my memory stick.
And my stick has been formatted like 3 times in the past day. Heh.

Also I installed 1.50 kernel V2 but I have absolutely no idea what it does.

Hey guys, I'm back again. This time with another question AND something awesome. Transport Tycoon for the PSP :D (With online multiplayer! :D)

Let me give a quick guide on how to get it.

1: Download THIS file and extract it.
2: Copy the ottd folder to your GAME folder on the PSP
3: Download THIS file and extract it.
4: Copy the following files from the folder to the PSP/GAME/ottd/data folder:

* TRG1R.GRF * TRGCR.GRF
* TRGHR.GRF * TRGIR.GRF
* TRGTR.GRF * SAMPLE.CAT

5: Start playing and have fun! :D

My question in return is: What is the best NES emulator? ^^

GAF, I need your help on this:

I'm always backing up my UMDs to Memory Stick to preserve battery life and improve loading times on my classic model PSP. However, I can't seem to get God of War Chains of Olympus to run properly off my SanDisk 2GB Pro Duo. It seems like the game is constantly streaming off the memory card (as is the case with all the GTA games) causing severe slowdown and overall choppiness. I've fixed the GTA problem by clocking the PSP to 333MHz, but this seems to have no effect with God of War since it already defaults to 333MHz.

I've tried various ISO loaders with no improvement whatsoever. I'm currently back to playing from the original UMD, but having God of War on my memory stick for prolonged portable fun would be so much better.

So I picked up a silver slim a couple months ago and did the whole Pandora thing, it's awesome but... it breaks my heart but I think I just don't have time for portable gaming anymore. :/ I feel like I'm breaking up with a sexy midget, one that's just slightly too big to be a good protable media player.
I also made the mistake of thinking I could get away with listing my CFW PSP on ebay, I'm probably lucky I didn't get my account suspended.

SO my phat is 3.71 m33 and I followed the steps, but when I run UPMS V4, it says the game cannot be started. I put all the other eboot files on the root folder as well. What am I doing wrong?
