PSVR 2 Down In Price To £350 (UK)

That's more reduction than what it was when they promoted it a wee bit when they announced the PC stuff.

I might bite if that becomes mainland europe price too.

That's a stellar price for anyone who hasn't jumped onboard, I've recently got back into No Mans Sky on mine and it's just amazing in VR, the sense of scale is of the charts, sitting in your cockpit flying and leaning over and looking down and out the window is just incredible, not to mention all the other insanely good games. Hopefully this leads to a surge in purchases

I sold it full price months ago before people start noticing it's abandoned by Sony. It's such a good product though, I can't believe they're trowing the towel this early.
 
Its still too expensive.

Not because the tech is not worth it, but because its dead. There is barely any software, and they dropped the ball on converting PSVR1 games to it. Its still 350 you have to spend.
 
Just like the Vita, the PSVR2 is a fantastic product and just like the Vita, Sony refuses to support it with quality software . I don't really understand what they hope to gain by employing this strategy once again.
 
This is a good price. The headset is good quality and some of the games are absolutely sublime. RE8 in particular is so good and some of the multiplayer games like Pavlov and Breachers will keep any shooter fan busy for a long time.

You just need to be aware that Sony themselves don't seem to want to really support the device with first party titles. If you're good with that then it's worth it.

Oh and obviously if you have a PC as well as a PS5 and are looking for a headset, this is a good value proposition.
 
I can sit around looking like a cunt with fuck all to do without the need to buy expensive head wear.

Had it since this time last year and would still say £350 is too much. Horizon was decent, GT7 was very good but the rest feel like cheap budget titles in comparison. I was expecting an Uncharted, Last of Us experience, backward compatibility with PSVR and Half Life Alyx on it by the end of this year. Even more disappointing than the Vita and most surprisingly of all PSVR (which I at least got at a bargain basement price of £250).

"Refuses to support"? Games don't materialize out of nowhere, and the hardware hasn't been around for 18months yet!

What exactly do you expect?
 
No interest in VR at all until it is a seamless "barely noticeable you're wearing it" device.

Decent price reduction but I would probably only play around with this a few times and then drop it.
 
Regret buying mine on release. No backwards compatibility is fucking inexcusable, especially when they do fuck all to support it with new games. Waste of money even at 350 imo

NMS is so nice in but when you want to "go somewhere". That's what Skyrim was like. I might get back into it on pc now. But I have to update myself on the state of vr on Linux. It was pretty shaky last time I checked two years ago.

I am just having too much fun playing regular video games to be honest. I have played VR and it's fun but the thought of sticking a headset on my head in the evenings to relax still feels too black mirror for me. I'm not shitting on it I'm just saying it's not for me right now and like many have said it's a niche within a niche. Sony clearly gambled on this product and have hundreds of thousands of them in a warehouse that they want to get rid of now.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. A single year of PSVR2 was actually great in terms of output. Had Horizon, GT7, RE Village, RE 4, NMS updates, + more like Firewall and Switchback VR, it's getting the new Metro soon too. All in a year and a bit but people still complained about lack of games and sales then when the hardware doesn't gain traction it's their fault for not continuing to spend on developing software and falling for the sunk cost fallacy.
 
It's an expensive spaz cap at this point. I won't bite at all. I thought about it briefly in the run up to launch but got another dog instead.

Firewall was so bad they shut the studio down and Switchback was an ugly mess at launch which VR 'influencers' were paid to lie about.
 
This gen has seemed a bit disappointing to me other than PSVR2, thanks to which the past year has been amazing. GT7 and the two resident evils in VR in particular have been stellar.

I get that thought but there are times I prefer it. It causes me to focus and sometimes it can be more relaxing for me to block everything else out.
 
Not surprising considering the awful way Sony has handled PS VR 2 so far. I don't expect a turnaround either. Things will only go down.

What a shame because it is a fantastic piece of hardware.
 
If you've the cash to spare, I'd recommend it just to play the big hitters alone,
Horizon
GT7
No Mans Sky
Resident Evil 4+8

Those 5 games alone where absolutely ground breaking in VR for me, brought me right back to that feeling of seeing and playing Wipeout on a mates PS1 all those years ago thinking fucking hell this is the future, whilst we mighten get anything like those games above, they're definitely worth the £350 to experience not to mention all the other great wee VR games, hell GT7 & No Mans Sky could just zap hundreds of hours worth in VR they're that good..

Has Hello Games mentioned that there new game for Sony will be VR compatible? I imagine it would be as I'm pretty sure the tech is shared
 
Still not worth the price imo, I mean the hardware itself is stellar and with the right support it could've been amazing. But there's what, 5-10 games worth buying it for?

I'll wait until I can buy it for £200 at clearance.
