Keep crying, bitch.
Then stop crying about it already, dipshit.
Enlighten me why you believe that bullshit. Actually I already know the answer, you're a retarded Xbot. That's why you're celebrating forza and stuff selling better everywhere but Xbox as some victory.

This is how you can tell the guy is having a good time and laughing when he drops those emojis, and not furiously malding.

I thought Phil Spencer and Microsoft wanted to 'outspend Sony out of the console business'...

Seems like the reverse happened lol. Sony tried to stop the AKB deal from going through and it still has somehow benefitted them more so than it has MS.

Nobody, and I mean.. nobody is going to be attached to the Xbox brand by playing Xbox games on a PlayStation.

They might as well just go full-third party at this point.

Pretty obvious this was the part he was talking about

Which would only be shocking if you said it in a clickbait headline with no context like: "10 years from now Microsoft games dominate the charts on Playstation 5".
Until you click on the article and see it's mostly COD, Minecraft and Bethesda games...which were already some of the most popular stuff on Playstation back then.

It'd be a fun piece of trivia to see MS had bought some of the biggest western publishers, and the inclusion of Forza would also signal they've gone third party.
But other than that I think if anything comparing this chart to the 2015 one shows that almost nothing has changed

Forza has done outstanding on playstation, so well done to them.
But for the the rest all I see are games that have traditionally done well on playstation because they used to be published by Bethesda and Activision respectfully, but were bought out by Microsoft.
So what am I looking at, where does the silly platform warring come in here?

Now they can add a little bit of gaming money to their coffers.
The reason why they are doing this is because as far as i know they haven't recovered the 75b from these deals lol.

Xbox revenue for MS is like 5% of something like that (or used to be). If Xbox was sold to another company tomorrow, MS's stock would probably soar.

Old news games that I played on Gamepass years ago. Just as PS+ has become old news games that I played on either Epic store free or gamepass.
Sony has gotten rather 'old'. Death Stranding 2? First game was on Epic store, I don't think I could stomach a second game If Epic releases it. (I'll still redeem it, never say never.)

Or the opposite. Shows that people buy games and MS will shut GP down.
Why would they shut it down now? They have people buying games now.

Think about it. Gamepass + multi platform publishing is like the perfect strategy. PlayStation gamers don't want to rent games so they gladly pay full price, Xbox gamers want to rent games so they gladly subscribe to Gamepass, and since Xbox is 3x smaller the cannibalism from Gamepass isn't causing much problem anymore and the extra talk from getting "free" games works like advertising. It's perfect. They just need to go day 1 on everything, late ports is a constant sales dampener.

What makes you think I don't know that? I was making a quick comment, not writing a dissertation on the effects of first-party and exclusives on consoles. I have said many times that I believe exclusives (and first-party) are important for brand identity. Fact is, Sony has had weak first-party output this generation. I 💙 Sony but their studios have not been setting the market on fire recently.

Fair enough, but in the context of your post - or at least how I interpreted it - you seemed to suggest that the chart was indicative of a competitive decline in Sony's first party output. An opinion I don't think can be supported on the evidence.

I just felt like you were conflating 2 separate phenomena. Mostly the same big mass-market franchises dominate, the only thing that's changed is ownership of those IP.

Now if these were being kept Xbox exclusive by MS, that would matter. But they aren't, so I feel like what's defined as "first party" is something of a red-herring in this context.

I am a little confused as to what you think I meant by defeat in the console space? I mean, we are kind of agreeing on Xbox's console situation, right? As for the 80-billion-dollar investment. Yes, that is part of their current third-party strategy. I would argue it is what ignited the new strategy.

I do not believe for a second that Satya signed off billions in acquisitions for a pivot. The intention was to fuel continued massive growth in GamePass that would result in the console market generally, and Playstation specifically, being essentially irrelevant to MS' ambitions.

The failure of that growth is what has led to them being forced to release on Playstation. Because its not just the sunken cost of acquisition, its needed to cover burn-rate which has to be astronomical now they are by far the biggest producer in the west.

Based on what's been revealed so far I think MS is done with Xbox as a console per se. I see them trying to reposition within the PC space for their hardware products. That Magnus APU that's been revealed is never going to be in a device priced comparatively with Series S, its going to be north of Series X by some margin.

I bet they really did sell 2M copies of FH5.

:pie_roffles: :pie_roffles: :pie_roffles: List is gone. But I have some suspicion the list is flawed. But seriously, common sense xbox lost the console war and xbox owners are trained by gamepass not to buy games so it is a logical way for MS xbox to port there games to Ps5 which has large user base and won the console war. But with all the stupid decisions of Sony right now, if Sony copy MS tactics and port PsS games to xbox, it will not be the same result.

PS games will not sell big in xbox. And it is not assured that PS games will sell in Switch and PC. For example was Death stranding 1 directors cut, it was not big in xbox and majority of its legs in sale is on PS4 and Ps5. Even PC sale is not th
at big for Ds1. Another one is Lego horizon, it did not sell big in Switch and PC. And, yes the woke infested Spider man 2, it did not sell big in PC. I hope Sony has the discernment not to fall into the trap of copying MS.

It just shows Sony has become completely reliant on 3rd party games. In 5 years they have killed their 1st party segment with their poor strategy.

This is what the shill should have stated. And yes MS paid 80 billions for most of those. Nothing to be happy about not knowing the actual profits they are making and when they are going to remburse those billions.
And Microsoft had to become reliant on 3rd party acquisitions so they have games.

I'd say that DS2 even charting in a quarterly list is kind of encouraging.

Always want Kojima games to succeed, one of the few auteurs left in the business.

Oh same, we always need more zany creative minds like Kojima and Sam Lake so games don't just become 'by the numbers'.

Just interesting to see that Doom is doing pretty good for a game that was deemed a 'flop' on GAF by a decent number of folks not too long ago.

I'm honestly surprised by it tbh. But it's a positive surprise as I want more Doom games to happen even if I don't play them myself (bro-in-law is a massive fan tho)!

so this tells us that Microsoft does way better as a 3rd party publisher than as just a 1st party publisher.

Very telling considering, Lego horizon flopped on switch for sony, and Destiny's main base is on PS/PC, we shall see how hell divers does on xbox.

Sony has had ups and downs with the multiplat strategy so far.

Piscatella is well known for posting hastily and taking it back when he's cooled off a bit (so many vanished tweets), so pretty surprised this wasn't just another in a long line of similar vanishings but an honest oopsie. Probably best to not try too hard in giving your favoured customers a dose of exactly what they want to see, lol.

Still, this thread is a handy reminder to always question what he posts, not only as a precaution against potential whiplash from Beybladian finessing of the raw data or engagement bate in stirring up the rowdies, but also just for good old accuracy and omission i.e. stupid fuckups.
