Gotta be for porn, right?

Twisted Pixel or Downpour.

Ready at Dawn hurts the most.
Twisted Pixel is working on an unannounced game, so I imagine they're fine for the time being. Their fate will obviously depend on the quality of the game.

Downpour seems to have done well with Onward and is supposed to be working on a sequel.

Ready at Dawn built fantastic VR games that were successful on Steam. Meta will make more cuts to their pet project and less to their data farming.

Corn + Gaussian Splatter tech is going to be insane. I downloaded a demo (for research), and it is quite impressive. The model is just in your room, which allows you to walk around and inspect from every angle. For those who want to do their "own research", the program is called Braindance.

I had a naked Tifa in my living room, all streaming, no downloads. AR is coming along smoothly, and as usual, it’s porn and pervs leading the expedition. God speed heroes!

You're right, I misremembered. Supposedly they were going to do Steam versions at one time.

Lone Echo games. Great games, sadly.

The Lone Echo games weren't that great. They were visual showpieces with interesting stories. There are games on standalone Quest that are far better.

Anyone considering the headset, don't miss out on Asgard's Wrath 2. One of those RPGs that keeps getting better even after 70+ hours. I know there are alot of games coming this fall/winter, but don't miss out on last years best game.

This is going to be the holiday's hotness.

I honestly think Batman is some of the reason its doing so well. Quest 3s has Batman as a pack in game too. So its essentially $250.

The previews from hardcore Arkham channels are across the board blown away by it. Even the hardcore VR haters made videos admitting they were wrong after playing it.

So what are the advantages/disadvantages of getting the 3s over the standard 3 version? Should I go for the more expensive headset or settle on the 3s?

The 3s has better low light performance (due to having 2 IR illuminators instead of 1 on the OG Q3). The 3 has slightly wider FoV, higher resolution display (games do not render in higher res, so only noticable using browser and PCVR), better edge to edge clarity due to better lenses. The lenses are the distinguishing differentiator in most situations, the lenses on OG Q3 are legit awesome.

I know of 2 people that pre-ordered a Q3S after I let them try my Q3. They felt that the Q3 was too expensive but $300 seems to be sweet spot for impulse buys. Hopefully the influx of new users will get Zucc to keep funding the tech.

I saw the announcement and the visual downgrade made me think I'd rather just get the OG version, but I wouldn't be able to do PCVR and Quest games in generally look AA (at best), so I think I will just go with the cheaper model. It's a great deal and I want access to the Quest exclusives.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch

Quest 3 has better lenses, headphone port and 512GB option, while Quest 3S is cheaper and better tracking in low light condition, but lesser 128GB and 256GB options

$300 is definitely the sweet spot for VR. I'm pretty tempted as well, but I think I'm going to just stick with my Quest 2 a bit longer.
Same here. I would love a Quest 3. But feels like I'm halfway through it's lifecycle until there's a Quest 4 on the streets. 3s ditches the parts of the Quest 3 that I'm most interested in. Like the pancake lenses and higher resolution.
