You guys think any individual incidence of explicit and blatant racism is really going to convince people? When people say "racism is over", they don't necessarily mean that there are no individual racist incidents anywhere.

More likely, highlighting extreme racism cases like this just makes them feel superior and enlightened. "I'm not racist. THAT'S racist, and I'm not that." They're drinking diet racism, and that's the kind of racism that's doing the most damage right now and what needs most addressing. You don't get people to stop drinking Diet Racism by telling them that Racism Classic is still around and that this one high school student is still drinking it.

no this is wrong. I don't think some of you understand how you can be brainwashed by your parents. I am 99.99% positive this is the parents influence. If she never changes, sure let it follow her around. But if she changes, how does it help society for her to be continually punished?

You have no idea where she picked this up from. It could've been her parents, or it could've been her friends. It could've been her neighbors. It could've been the Internet (hello alt-right/Gamergate). Ultimately, she is not a bug in the system; she's the logical conclusion of it. Putting this kind of blatant racism off on nothing but "bad parenting" when no one actually knows for certain where this came from does nothing but kick the can down the road in terms of addressing the real problem, which is that this is a societal and cultural illness.

If I had a child in her class, this student believes my child would be better off under slavery. Fuck that. That isn't a difference of opinion. My FREEDOM is not a difference of opinion.

I don't have a child, and especially not in this school, but I'm sure there are black people that do. Perhaps a bit of suffering will lead to her education.

No one is really racist. It's a myth. Africans migrated here in the 1900's and immediately set about creating this intricate work of fiction of slavery and jim crow. Whenever someone says they are not racist then says something racist I always wonder what thoughts they deem as "truly racist" they are holding back.

Take care to note that YOU are also the one making the distinction. Diet racist, racist classic.. you know what the racists are doing? "I can tell a good black from a bad black.. but i still prejudge all of them just to be safe"

Why are you giving them a distinction when they likely would not give two shits about throwing the whole group out? You keep handwaving and lessening their damage by calling it diet when in actuality those people need to be grouped right on in and with the classics.

I was doing some research for an argument i was having with a friend about milo... ended up on some non-milo britebart shit article using misleading data to purport that africans americans were doing GREAT in this country by all metrics UNTIL civil rights legislation got passed and completely undermined their progress.

Its just... blows my mind. Was like reading one of those "secret jews were behind the Holocaust" articles.

The intellectually dishonest places people will go to convince themselves and others that thier beliefs are rational is amazing. It speaks for itself

I really do think I have more respect for the ppl who just outright say "I fucking hate k**** and n******s. Why? Because they are k**** and n******s, dummy!" At least they arent hiding behind anything
