I've been trying to like Just Cause 3 since I loved 2. I just can't have fun with it.

Downloading Siege right now. Enjoyed the beta, so hopefully I'll have fun with this.

Anybody got the season pass? How much is the permanent boost?

I am thinking about getting the season pass just to reward ubi for doing the right decision to give the future maps away for free to not divide the playerbase. They need to be applauded for that.

That's what I did, it's really worth it when you compare it to the content in other season passes, but I got it to support the game. It's 5% and you get extra daily challenges.

It's not wroth it in terms of value in my opinion, but value is relative and if you really enjoy the game and want to support Ubisoft's decision to make both maps and operators free for all, then I think it's a good avenue to do that.

People frown on this kind of DLC model because they resent the MT, but I think it has a very positive influence on the game. The prsence of MT means that all of the meaningful content is free, then Ubi have a few additional avenues of revenue where only arbitrary content is sold, which helps make the continued support profitable and pays for the content that everyone else gets.

That said, I may have held off with my support if I was aware that the game didn't have LAN support when I picked up the season pass.

Anyone had party issues on ps4 with private chat? Whenever we try to join a game together one of us gets kicked and sometimes our party chat is disabled.

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
Just texted this to my friend:

"It’s way too early to say this with much confidence. And if I play some more and I change my mind (drastically), you can’t make fun. I’m nervous to make the followings statements - because all of it is worthless if the meta game ends up being bullshit or it gets riddled with glitches or cheaters, or unbalanced moves or weapons or anything else. With all that said - Rainbow Six Siege just left a better first impression on many than any shooter in... years. I honestly don’t have any complaints based on my first ~hour of play. First things first - small download; only about 14 gigs installed. Then it boots with zero issues. PC graphics settings out the wazoo. It runs well with no glaring performance issues. It’s not a looker by any means, but the graphics don’t get in the way. No bullshit glare. No overdone HDR. No crazy particle effects or just plain old messiness on the screen. The FoV slider gives me a nice, wide vision box. Matchmaking was SUPER fast. I was in every game in a matter of ~15-20 seconds. Way faster than, say, Halo 5. Then I get in the game... and this is where it gets good. My first game. MY FIRST FUCKING GAME. And 10 out of 10 people had microphones. TEN! Now granted, games 2 and 3 weren’t so great - with only one or two guys talking total; but still. Anyway. I got my ass handed to me - but here’s why I don’t care... ... There were minutes - minutes - where I’m slowly sneaking around. I’m peeking around corners. I’m placing traps. I’m listening for foot steps and creaking and chatter and gunshots. I’m using my brain. Here I am, in the first game, and we’re down... two guys vs three with about 30 seconds to go. We’re by the bomb. We hear the clank of feet hitting the barbed wire I placed. But the enemy tricked us... He made a noise, then went around. So me and this guy are huddled at our bomb - three entrances - two guys. Shots. From both sides. Other guy kills one enemy... and I holler in my mic “which one did you get, stairs or hallway.” He says he got stairs. I holler “I think he’s right behind these pillars - you go around while I distract him. I take of some shots. Enemy shoots back. I know we’re both almost empty. My teammate gets the drop and kills the enemy. We win! I wasn’t winning because of my reflexes or the twitch gameplay. Actually - there’s a helluva lot of camping. But it’s slow. It’s methodical. The first hour ... which again... is admittedly like... NOTHING at all... but the first hour was phenomenal. I wish we had experienced it together."

Had some really fantastic matches today playing with Gaz and co. Great fun.

I would like to play with you guys more often and get competitive in ranked if you guys are up for it. :) Everyone seems really good and you all communicate, so the matches were a pleasure.

My win loss ratio is something like 16 : 1 now, and my overall KDR is over 4.0, from the 20+ I've played today. That's not a testament to my ability though, but the whole teams successful coordination. :)

If you'd be willing to teach a total dumbass who has zero idea what he's doing, I'd love to play with you and coordinate via mic!

Add me on PC: Skel1ingt0n

... granted, guess you might be console, huh?

Dash Kappei

Not actually that important
Xbox here, dashkap if you want to add me and you play with a mic, are an adult and are ok with both my italian accent and that I'm usually not that good at aiming with dual sticks :p

Two questions:
•is there leaning/peaking on consoles?
•When I started the game I had a red exclamation point on most of the modes, what did that mean? Server connecting problems maybe, that I wasn't properly online?

I've played maybe 10-12 matches and I've loved every minute. Zero server hiccups and plenty of people with mics. It's of course not the Rainbow Six we grew up on and despite its flaws, money well spent.

You took the words out of my mouth. Most fun I've had since forever.

It meant that you were still downloading the game. It lets you get in early to play the single player stuff.

Just tried out some offline situations, game's mechanics hold a lot of potential for tactical 5v5. Rappeling, leaning is back, the tactical destruction is awesome and seems to somewhat mitigate the usual gimmick of being good at an FPS because you've memorized the routes and entry points.

Can't log into the servers though...

What's the real install size on PS4? I hear conflicting things.

Trying to work out if I should just get the digital version.

Definitely some fun games. Can't wait til we get to ranked.

Do you guys think the PC community will continue to have an active community? That would be my biggest concern if getting it on PC vs PS4.

It's going to be around 15gb at most. It's only 14.3gb on PC

yes - it's a niche genre that people eat up like candy on PC

I mean holy shit is this game fun. Terrorist Hunt all night with at least 3 people always having mics. Met some cool people and the feeling of clearing a house like a bad ass is something else.

so many clutch saves

this game is special guys. If the community sticks around and support is decent. We have something here.

Put a c4 around the corner from where I expected the enemy team to breach, blew it up when they did and they all went to investigate. Shotgunned them down from the back. It is such an amazing feeling when it plays out like you planned. Love this game.

If anyone from PCgaf wants to play together sometime, let's be friends.

I'm SkyCaptainStarr on uplay.

Added. AldousP.

The seriousness in my brief two hours of playing tonight is sort of hilarious. There is a vehement hate so far for anyone that is < 15 clearance.

Is this it? The co-op FPS I've been waiting for?

Anyone on PS4 have problems/issues yet?

I've been playing for hours without a single network issue on PS4. In terrorist hunt if the host quits right when a team is being put together it will say lost connection from host but that's only happened once.

Debating getting this on the ONE. Do you guys think this game has any legs?

Impossible to tell. People may be frustrated by the slower pace and higher skill requirement. But I think it will gain a dedicated player base.

Then again the game could have loads of exploits that never get fixed and scare away anyone who might have taken it seriously.

The tournaments and "seasons" that Ubisoft is promising as well as standardized DLC for everyone should keep the game going for awhile. As long as UBI is serious and keeps up with bugs and exploits it's going to be awesome

Can’t stump the diablos
Damnit. Redeemed to the wrong uplay account.
Really hope ubi tech support can get this reassigned to my main.

I haven't been this on the fence with buying a game in a long time. having the PC version be cheap vs an empty uplay friends list doesn't help lol.
