Rainbow Six Vegas 2 |OT| of no auto shotguns

Man, I hope the MP lobby system is more robust, I was so sick of playing that damn Casino/Slot Machine/Roof level ad infinitum :(

This is going to be -sweet-.

Plus earning XP in every mode is cool because it was a horrible nightmare in the first one :lol

GameInformer gave Rainbow Six Vegas 2 a 9.25 and a 9.5 as a second opinion review.

From the magazine review:

>Concept: That most elite of fictional special forces has to save the world from terrorists...in Las Vegas...again

>Graphics: I'll take this title's smoothframe rate over a few more polygons every day.

>Sound: Excellent voiceovers and snappy sound effects play their part well.

>Playability: Firing and moving is perfect. Controlling your squad, not so much.

>Entertainment: Amazing co-op, good single-player, outstanding team-based versus modes - what's not to like?

>Replay Value: High

I also added the COMPLETE list of weapons in the OP.

I'm just glad the P90 is still there. I almost exclusively only use that gun.

Hopefully they updated the textures from Vegas 1. It was a bit of a blurry mess, especially the cartridge.

The P90 was an excellent weapon, I love that clip size. I also used the Mac11 a lot, I used to get 3-4 kills every round with that thing.

have a question about the online coop story mode. will it be with cutscenes this time? in the first you could only play the missions... :(

Yep, the co-op and single player games are almost identical and both sport the story cutscenes.

Is framerate 60fps or just locked 30fps? Seeing as the game looks exactly the same as the first Rainbow six: Vegas I hope that they have upped it to 60fps.

Thread title is slightly misleading, the “Noob Cannon” (XM-26 LSS) has a slower rate of fire than Vegas 1.

iam sick of the ppl who think the xm 26 lss is a "noob cannon" its a shotgun, alas short range combat, all the whiners who use automatic rifles with long range dont whine when they can shoot someone at the other side of the map

the xm-26 lss is a good shotgun, but has his shortcomings, limited range, little magazine capacity

seriously i use all the weapons, but in short range combat i like the xm26 and every fucking time i use that gun a whiner comes into scene

I would agree with you mostly but it did have a some unfair advantages over other weapons. Personally, I never cared if people used it, hell I even busted it out on occasions.

No party system?

How else will buddies stay together?
Just play in player matches. You're always together and you still gain XP points. The only benefit of Ranked matches is raising your truskill and how many people really care about that? They did add the function of inviting friends to Ranked games which is nice. It will just be annoying having to reinvite them after every game. The first Vegas as far as player count was probably 90% playing player matches, 10% playing ranked.

I'm not sure what to do with this game. I played the last RB6 a lot (co-op and online MP) but I already have CoD4. With new maps coming out I don't know if I need two shooters. I guess it all depends on the user base for CoD4 and RB6. Damn these next few months...

Just seems like a massive oversight for a game that is as online-focused as Rainbox Six to not have a party system.

Totally, it should be a standard in this type of game.

That is a variant of the M4 with an ACOG Scope, I didn't see this mentioned on the list of new weapons.

I'm right in thinking there were no M4 Assault Rifles in the first game?

yup,but his biggest advantage ( close quarters automatic shotgun hell) is his biggest downfall,u get a empty clip on 1 second,if you fail u are dead

I don't remember the specific reason but M4s, M16 and others of that class are no longer allowed in Rainbow Six games.

You're right though that does look A LOT like an M4. I wonder what it is?

There's some issue between Ubi & Colt, although I've never heard anything concrete as to what the issue exactly is.

Just read about the new radar in the OP... Is that also for multiplayer?

edit: Nevermind, just saw the answer further down in the OP. Single Player.

I am going to get this, but need my fears put aside about Vegas 2 having a campaign mode as short as GRAW2 did. I'd like to know how long the game is....

I think that's the M468 which is new to the series. It was put in specifically to skirt around whatever issues they have with the M4 and M16.

Supposedly they're not in the game because Colt was suing H&K for copyright infringement, and since H&K had the most guns in Vegas 1...

It's also rumored they don't want Americans killing other Americans with their guns, but I personally doubt that.

Regardless, the M468 is basically a modified M4, so we're good to go.

You know what these games need? The ability to play all the multiplayer maps that you bought for the previous installment.

And space marines!

Total Conquest (NEW): A revised version of Conquest mode, Total Conquest is an intense back-and-forth game where the tide can turn at anytime. Capture all three satellite transmitters and hold them for the duration of the countdown. If a satellite is interrupted the countdown resets.

man cant wait to play this again. conquest was a letdown in vegas, now its back to its black arrow days.

Am I correct in understanding that ranked matches will function like like a pick up team playlist? Since there are no parties, you can join ranked to avoid playing clans?

I for one will be happy to see sever lists again. I'm tired of COD4 tossing me into games that are almost over, on maps I don't want to play, or really laggy.

I just checked cheapassgamer and there isn't any sales for this next week. That is a bummer. I may blow my 60 dollars on the Condemmed 2 + Condemmed 1 deal today instead...
