Meanwhile Sea of Thieves and Fortnite are games for casuals.

Indi puzzles do suffer from trying to appeal to a wide audience. It has other aspects that save it.
But topic of discussion is Sea of Thieves. Thats hardcore in my books.
Game doesn't even tell if one is exploring in right place, solving right puzzles to finish objectives.

When I saw Dandara, I didn't say "OMG BLACK PROTAG EFF THIS GAME" I ended up buying the title.
But that was before the industry had conditioned everyone to associate diverse characters with annoying woke signaling and quality issues in games. There must be some reason I scooped up Dandara without a thought yet sighed heavily when I saw this reveal image years later...

No it's not but it's been enjoyed by more people then those 6 games it's still sold over 10 million copies on steam, over 1 million on PS (Nearly as much as Astrobot) and we haven't even included xbox purchases where it was an exclusive for much of its life.
It's their most successful title ever in sales and in history, even without gamepass 'players' being counted at all.
Trying to compare it to 6 of the most successful games on N64 saying it hasn't 'outsold' those combined yet isn't a win.

Yes but I wasn't the one claiming it's done better than them combined. I was just making it clear it hasn't and the only way it might have over a longer period is mtx. It's a Snes game that sold most. N64 games weren't that huge besides Goldeneye, especially Jet force Gemini which was a failure in comparison.

I point u to this very diverse game, worldwide hit and timeless classic, with very diverse cast, it had 3 women among ur party members, diseabled black guy(amputated right arm) who was actually leader of eco-terrorist group and animal with human alike intelect that could talk in human language, a vampire, a cat riding a robot etc, and it even had white male as an ultimate evil/main antagonist, many other white males were antagonists there too
Yet somehow we all loved it, didnt call it woke(there wasnt that term yet, but lets just simplify it to - no forced diversity nor any weird agenda were pushed ).

And look at metacritic user(we knew reviews will be solid, but if those games were woke users would score-bomb it like with all other shitty woke games) score 8,2 for remake, 8,9 for rebirth
U got protag going full on transvestite even, to fool don corneo in remake
And u can go on a date with barret in rebirth, we got nice long cutscene with dialogues even, not some silly fade to black:

It is very possible, but it is not a certainty. Too many companies in video games and otherwise, have been hurt financially by the woke garbage and have [very] recently made a 180 degree turn. So let's wait and see before we lambast Rare!

Not really. Basically, any game I sense is virtue signaling to woke OR anti-woke crowds, goes on my ignore list. I don't mind if a game is diverse & inclusive; just don't use it as a selling point in lieu of things that actually matter like great story, cool gameplay, innovative ideas etc. , because otherwise you'll probably end up being bigoted towards non-minority groups. Bigotry is bigotry.
I don't care if a game has zero diversity; just don't beat your chest about it like you're not pandering (you ARE pandering, just to non-minority groups), because that doesn't suddenly make your game any good in areas where it matters and chances are you'll end up being bigoted towards minority groups. Bigotry is bigotry.
Just really simple things that most people today who are supposed to be adults & mature, can't seem to grasp. I'm sure declining mental health is absolutely a part of why it's happening, but I also blame the media for pushing agitprop & idpol nonsense, and too many people giving in to their own biases and worst tendencies (again partly due to declining mental health, but also because of their own weakened mental fortitude).
Anyway, that's about all I have on the subject. You can just take this post and copy-paste it in any similar thread when culture wars comes up. It all boils down to the same thing anyway.

Once Rare left Nintendo they lost any semblance of quality whatsoever. Their games mean nothing to me anymore. A complete shell of the studio that gave us Donkey Kong Country and Goldeneye. The Microsoft effect i'd say.
