Rare shares a new peek at Everwild…

So some of GAF has issues with games just having a black female in them now? Just going straight up racist?
When there is a pattern, and obvious pattern, yes we have an issue with it. If you don't see the pattern, that's just you pretending not to see anything.

Saying, I don't mind it, just means you don't mind ideas, that we're most likely created to push an agenda, being pushed your way. If you don't mind it, then when does it end?

And if you say something against the unnatural pattern, then you're automatically a nazi, a racist or an incel just for pointing it out.

Looks shit and gay. Microsoft woke virus, fallen so far from the 360 days.

If they stuck at it, the "dudebro" thing could have been their gimmick, ala Nintendo with kid-friendly, and a standout in current times.

Am I missing a backstory or are you guys downing it just because she is black? If so that's messed up.
Yeah I'm worried we're going to far to the opposite end. So far we know nothing of this game outside it stars a black woman and that's it.

What's the agenda? "Black people exist"?

Boo fucking hoo

Shut up man you don't deserve to talk shit after ass licking Jordan from Naughty Dog.
At least this Everwild character resembles a woman. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Development starting ten years ago and its development getting rebooted in 2021 doesn't send any good signals. Planned for 2023, but pushed to 2024 and still no sign of it. Graphically it looks nice, but the trailer felt very inoffensive and like it will cater to more calm people who just want to vibe around.

But it doesn't though, it stars whatever character you create in an open world.

What? You saying Sony made those games with the view they wouldn't make money?
They knew it wouldn't be smash hits... They wouldn't make crazy money with them. It's to give an image to the company, like Locoroco, Patapon, etc, you know you won't sell dozens of millions of those. It happens in a lot of companies of any kinds, some products are made to be sold and generate a lot of profit and some others are made for the "image" to be popular among the core audience.

Theu funded all the games of Fumito Udea knowing they won't make money with them (after ICO it became pretty clear...). That's a smart move though, as I said it give an "aura" to a company, an image.

It's what MS should have done with HiFi Rush and games like those... But no, they want every project being profitable financially.

Sony were smart back in those days. Yes the titles you mentioned might not have made crazy money, but they gave them credibility, so we agree there.

MS are terrible at this kind of thing. Peter Moore was one in a million and gave the brand passion, those days are long gone, and something that Sony also seem to lack right now.

I didnt follow this game. Been so long I forgot about it. All I remember is it was bright and cartoony.

But you guys are saying the character was always Black? But the video Fess just posted showed someone with white hair character who definitely does not look Black in 2019. But then another trailer has a Black woman. So looks like it flip flopped at some point in 2020 and remained the same since.

There are multiple characters in the trailers. White, black, male, female…

It's awful, imho. Tried to get into it multiple times

Have you tried making friends in real life and then playing the game with them?

The games you listed did sell more copies too but they didn't make as much money due to no mtx unlike Sea of Thieves. Not sure we should be celebrating mtx anyway though.

None of those games sold as many copies as Sea of Thieves did. Goldeneye was probably the closest.

This has me thinking, is anyone from that core 90s group still at MSFT Rare?

Odd question when the game director is Gregg Mayles who's been a Rare staple since 1989.

They went back in time to 2020 to start this 'pattern'?
You people need therapy. Or weed. Or religion. I dunno. Just get some help.

Rare has been dead for years. This is just a gaggle of trannies wearing a Rare skin suit. They're Buffalo Billing these dev companies. Rare, Bungie, Rocksteady, CDPR, Bioware etc.

Not interested, I WANT Wild, that game Michel Ancel was working on, with the giant sexy nature goddesses…THAT looked good

Like I said, If you refuse to see patterns and pretend they're not there suddenly, thats on you.

Maybe because I'm not white I see them more obviously. Either way, at the end, it's the consumers that make the decision. Our opinions don't matter. It's the buyers who chose.

Why bother combining sales of multiple games versus one, that's a silly thing to do.
Because Ozriel did:
Sea of Thieves probably made more money than all of these combined. More players too.
I was just making it clear that Sea of theives maybe made more money than them combined but this would be mainly due to mtx. All of those games combined in actual sales though would be much higher than SoT.

These developers still don't understand, you need to have a good looking protagonist to sell your game, especially a game that relies heavily on 2D animation aesthetic like Ever wild.

Link for example is beautiful than majority of women protagonists in modern day of gaming despite being a man himself.

I would hope so, RARE released over 100 games before joining Microsoft so one would think sales would be higher. Lets be real but, their largest seller ever was Goldeneye around 8 million, the majority of their titles where under a million while SoT alone is at 40 million players now.

It's a huge success, rares biggest to date people can't argue that even if someone likes Banjo more. Fingers crossed with this game cooking so long they learned the lesson from SoT. SoT after being fixed was perfection for gaming with friends when didn't feel like sweating.

If we're the minority and we're just imagining stuff and are mentally ill, then obviously the market will likely make this game a success.

So if we're Nazis or white supremacist (even though I'm not white), none of what we angry "racists" think, matters. At the end, we represent an insignificant minority and enlightened majority Gamers like you will make these games a success. Right?

Gamepass "Players" tally is not game sales and TintoConCasera TintoConCasera didn't list 100 games he listed about 6.

You took a look at that side profile in the postcard and determined the protagonist was ugly?

Sea of Thieves landed on Steam as a relatively late port and still has most of the sales estimators estimating approx 10 million units sold on Steam alone.
First month sales on Xbox alone in 2018 were enough to put it at No 2 in the NPD charts, just behind the MLB title.

And of course it had a successful launch on PS5 where it outsold Stellar Blade in the U.S. YTD charts, and ranked high on PSN download charts for both the EU and U.S for months.

Yeah, players =/= sales. But it's sold significantly over 10 million units at this point.

Sea of Thieves is one of the best games Rare have ever made. Shoot me.

It's certainly the funnest video game I've played in the last 10 years (possibly longer to be honest).
It is fun but the combat is some of the worst I have ever experienced and really dampens my enjoyment

Spoiler alert, it's an aimless and goalless survival game of bipoc shebosses and soy cuckmen gathering resources to build cozy villages. The antagonist is an evil white man who's destroying magic by deforesting everything and killing all the mythical creatures for profit.

Nobody said it didn't sell decently, or lower than 10M. However DKC sold 9.3M on its own and Goldeneye another 9M. Diddys Kong Quest sold 4.3M in US and Japan alone. Those 3 games on their own would have heavily outsold SoT without including Banjo or KI.
These were $60 games in the 90s selling gangbuster vs $40 in 2020 for SoT launch on steam. The only way your claim of it making more money than them 6 combined could possibly be true is if SoT sold a hell of a lot of microtransactions to make up for the shortfall.

A survival game is what I'm expecting too.
